About three-quarter in bloom in Shinjuku Gyoen National park now.Not crowded because of chilly.
This video shows Starting of the last clip of Episode 1, and walking around there seeing Somei-Yoshino.
'Somei-yoshino ソメイヨシノ ' is a cultivar of cherry tree made in Japan, also planted all over in Japan ever since the Meiji period(1868 to 1912 ). One of the symbol for enrich the country, strengthen the military force as Meiji era government slogan.( Mt, Fuji. too)
When the news announces the cherry‐blossom front has started blooming, they pick up Somei-yoshino as a standard.
