Tossed up between this and the xmaxx seems like parts on the redcat are super cheap but is that cause the plastic quality is cheaper or what do like the electronics in the redcat...
I definitely want one, I have 2 XMAXXs and would love to see how they really differ, the only advantage for Redcat on paper is their choice of ESC’s, I send my XMAXX’s 65 ft out in jumps with little breakage, if your serious about the hobby all your rigs get modified. I also have a outcast 8s and durability is a issue.
I have a 1/5 Redcat truck not this one but that would break if you looked at it. Getting Redcat to send parts on warranty was 110% a nightmare I am not supersized. I think I ran that truck 3 times then I gave up. The last time I ran it the tires had finger size holes in them. Sorry not trying to be negative, but that was every pricey for 3 runs. Lets see, Steering servo fell apart, the foams in the tires went to dust, tires ripped apart., all the wheel bearings seized, steering knuckles had to be cut out, and countless stripped screws. All my Arrma trucks out run, beat on them for days no troubles.
Haven’t had the chance to watch the video yet, but I agree. Either Redcat or Vitavon better rush to the upgrades, or they are going to miss the boat. I dream of this thing with a Reefs Beast 1000, or 2000, and a Max 4 with a 800 KV all geared up on 12S just beating the shit out of the X Maxxx. I promise I will watch the video when i get home.
Not a bad truck but you are trading $140 for body pins and counterfeit Badlands. Still a fun truck once you set your ESC for a little more power. Off the sand you need to pack that center diff with the souls of your enemies. Any type of traction makes the right front pie plate. Redcat is getting there but the Xmaxx is still king in my opinion. Plus I can buy Traxxas parts pretty much at the grocery store.
I'm in Canada and the price difference is significantly different. Redcat 860 taxes included Canadian, xmaxx 1590+tax. That's almost double. And then you have to sell the crappy traxxas electronics and purchase and install a decent radio and recieved, buy upgraded motor mount to mount the hobbywing electronics and servo mount adapter to install a decent servo, all of which come with the redcat. Redcat also doesn't need a wheel and tire upgrade right out of the box and you can run whatever battery you want. It also has shock limiters that prevent shocks from breaking which is also common on traxxas. Redcat also looks really good, not like the unrealistic abominations traxxas tries to pass off even though they could easily use Ford or Chevy because they have paid for the licence agreement. Just another money grab in my opinion. Good on redcat for just picking an epic square body. Good designs speak for themselves. No need for killjoy copyrights and lawsuits to ruin the fun. Traxxas, do better, or charge less.
@@AllInRc1971 yea definitely has lots to do with it. Prices for RCS here in Canada have increased by about 50 percent over the duration of the last 5 years. What used to be 200$ is now 300$. What used to be 1000$ is now 1500 in the traxxas world. Team associated arrma and redcat and losi prices have changed less. They are about 100$ more than they used to be. Can still get them for just under 1000$. I'm not sure about my redcat, but my buddies 2000$ XRT ultimate got taken out last week due to poor handling and a fire hydrant unfortunately. My losi on the other hand is fantastic. faster, better handling, more tuneable, consistent and predictable.
I really enjoy the vigilante. Is it a xmaxx killer... Idk... Kinda.... 860 vs 1100, hobbywing vs what you will replace with a hobbywing 😆, pinion and spur that so far hold up vs one's that explode because Traxxas likes junk monkey metal.... tires that are holding up vs tires that basically come out of the box unglued and half blown 😆.... Out of the box redcat takes it... Bang for the buck Redcat takes it.
It automatically is, with just the fact that it comes with a 1/5 scale servo, and you can swap a better one in there. Just wait until Vitavon gets ahold of it
Love mine, and the aftermarket folk wont have to worry about BS lawsuits from Redcat.

The trays aren’t the issue it the way the chassis brace bars are setup
One word; paddle tyre
How did it break bashing in sand ???

@@mostang72 , how do you like your Vigilante?
@@ib4217 not sure on your pricing, but you know, Trudeau. How do you like your Vigilante?

Xmaxx killer with Redcar build quality? Lmao be serious
How much is the price of the. Body
Not with the small battery trays.
Very good entry level 5th scale, no match for the 8s Outcast EXB. I do believe it to be better than the Xmaxx.
