In Andrea Chénier, the poet’s fate transcends actual events, telling the story of a tragic love triangle in which the lives of the protagonists are subject to the forces of history, betrayal and amorous passion. Along the way, Umberto Giordano's music, full of elegant aristocratic dances and popular revolutionary songs, perfectly captures the atmosphere of Paris before and during the French Revolution. Winner of the 2016 International Opera Award for Young Director, Fabio Ceresa returns to the Erkel Theatre for this impressive period production.

I am HUNGARIAN. NEWER ITALIAN MY BUDABEST IS A PARADISE OF BEAUTY, ART. 2 OPERAA ALWAYS BEST -SEE ,HEAR-SINGERS. COSTUMES SETS,RESPECTING THE ORGINAL MARTA BEATRIX DARDAY
she doesn´t sing so well or well at least NOT CLEARY understandable on what she is saying but she actually SINGS ALL the lines of the song in good pacing which meants A LOT of difference from other better singers on pronunciation which messes on cutting throught mutilation, half-singing or rushed-broken singing throught the difficult lines just before the final climax of the song. That was so WHOLESOME GREAT, one singer finally singing ALL THE LINES as it should be, properly in time, no matter if they aren´t so understandable most of time!
Pas la version que je préfère..Callas irremplaçable dans ce rôle 😊
Eh bien - vraiment. Callas sonnait comme si quelqu'un chantait dans une boîte de conserve et c'est comme ça que ça secouait. Elle était rarement facile à comprendre.
Complétement différent cette version a plus de force pour moi que celle de Callas plus émouvante.
