One of the best vehicles I’ve ever had. Bought new from showroom & sold my RR Sport HSE. Had nearly 3 year’s now! She’s beautiful & I’m reaching nearly 64………..so ladies buy one & drive it, she’s gorgeous though I suggest dark interior my RR Sport was black & cream interior & I was always careful.

Yeah, cause that control console TOTALLY won't be distracting drivers as they try to adjust something as simple as the fan. That's the problem with touchscreens. You have to actively look to see where you're pushing, as opposed to just being able to tell by touch what the dial does, or count how many buttons over it is. The best control console is the one you don't have to take your eyes off the road to use.

I’ve got the 3.0 diesel V6… excellent economy and really powerful with 700 Newton metres of torque. Great off road on wet muddy fields, snow etc.. I’ve got used to the touch screens, I use voice commands for most anyway so I don’t have to look.

Great video, the concern with virtual controls is that you have to take your eyes off of the road as there is no tactile button for adjustment. Where as a real button/switch can be located and adjusted without taking your eyes away from the road.

I only know of one person in my life that ever took their Range Rover and new ones at that off-road; had a buddy that had the old full-size one and also a Defender back in the day and he had them both painted with the zebra stripes and he took them off-road all the time but other than that, to the mall they went and that's it.

the fact that it looks so stunning and still do any off roading is great , cars like the x5m or those merc g class cars cant do shit , i know range rovers are unreliable and service prices are crazy ( they have improved drastically from the 2000s) but you have to give them credit for not disappointing their off roading heritage

I said almost the same thing about the $65000. Colorado to another reviewer, calling it virtually making it "Mall" rated, and got publicly ridiculed by the reviewer, so I will hold my opinion but I do think it comes down to a matter of "will" you instead of "can" it go off road. Thanks Roman. I seems like it certainly can go off road..

A little consistency on your part would be nice. You lambasted the Honda Pilot, a vehicle that cost half as much and will see about as much off-road as the Velar, but had push button transmission which you went out of your way to say it was a bad idea, yet no mention of it on the Velar! Love your channel, but be a little more consistent with your opinion and reviews please.

"Smart" technology depreciates faster than a vehicle does. So when you throw all of that smart tech into a vehicle, leasing would be the best option, but leasing in itself is a terrible idea. So.... unless you're stupid wealthy and this is your dream car, I don't see a reason for it to be purchased.

    • @bighands69

Some people just want a slick capable off road vehicle. They more than likely buy new and do not care about depreciation.

Land/Range Rover makes Luxury Road SUVs now, that have an off-road ability.

I rented one and had to take it back. Beautiful and quiet but I had multiple failures -Remote mirrors didn’t work. Sometimes wouldn’t shift out of first., hated the touch controls. Tiny hard to read odd icons. Way too much gloss black. Rotary shift knob that is motorized and rises when the start is pressed. What happens when this fails - you couldn’t drive the car. Technology gone wild ...and stupid !, Disappointing since I loved the exterior styling and seats. Never did get interior light to come on when doors opened.

The sales increase might also be due to the inequitable distribution of wealth in the world too.

With nonsense views like that, why would you even be looking at a video like this? go get a job then you can quit whining about wealth distribution.

Joshua Tree/ real off road, Never, doesn't make sense. Plus the dust kills the interior / electronics. But for jaunts to the cabin in Aspen or Mammoth, of course 😉

Do you think the F-Pace can hang with the Range Rover Velar off road?

+sickjohnson no, the Velar has air suspension and the F-Pace does not.

There's something about me that just hates when they take vehicles like this off road. I know they are capable but it's just so cringe worthy.

Almost got enough dust on that center control panel to short it out. Looks too much like a Ford Exploder to be worth 90k

Sam, The Car Guy About the same as that Furd in your avatar. I owned a 02 Stang GT and a 15 LR and the reliability has been the same.

Nucl3ar Family surprisingly enough it’s actually been pretty reliable. Just hit 101k and it’s had no problems other than a few problems pertaining to the top (convertible), and one time when the plastic radiator fan broke. It also had the infamous 6 disk player but that’s no longer in the car.

Range Rover is nothing more than a status car. The velar is a car essentially. It has off road tech but it's low, with big front and rear over hangs, low profile tires. Not to mention it's gonna depreciate like a brick and be unreliable like other range rovers. Being based of a jag doesn't make it any better. Not worth it.
