Regrets can be a powerful force in our lives. Regrets can make us feel so badly about something we did or didn't do in the past that we basically get stuck there in the past. But, on the flip side, regrets can spur us to learn from our past mistakes and actually spur us onto growth. It all depends on one's perspective, how they view themselves and their past mistakes. I believe having a repentant heart may be key to being able to learn from our mistakes and using our regrets in a positive manner.
Embracing means gladly receiving and even welcoming whatever the Lord gives me, even when it wasn't in my plans. It means being fully present, living in the now, finding joy in the moment, and not longing for what's past. “Trust him that he is working for my good. Trust him that he knows what is best.
