As someone that works in an auditorium.. and with the same alarm system. This school failed miserably, shame on the auditorium staff. Our protocol is to make an announcement over our booth microphone saying “Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention, while the cause of the alarm is being investigated all occupants must exit the auditorium. All those on stage should exit using the back stage door, those seated in the lower section should use the doors at the front and sides of the auditorium, and those seated in the balcony should walk to the nearest staircase and exit though the rear doors into the auditorium lobby”.. they didn’t even turn on the lights!
It can be funny if it does happens by accident. However, it isn't funny when somebody intentionally sets off the alarm and it is also a criminal offense in some places.
False fire alarms are no laughing matter, this is not only dangerous, but illegal as well. Also, this situation wastes the fire department’s time & resources. Very bad indeed!

I think whoever pulled the fire alarm should not have pulled that prank as it is a violation of school policies to do something like that. I have never pulled a false fire alarm, especially during my school years and neither should anybody else.

Are you joking or referring to the false alarm? That’s serious stuff. A stampede could have easily ensued with those alarms. And many times the fire department has to respond. So that could also be problematic cause while the fake alarm is being investigated a TRUE emergency can happen elsewhere causing delayed response times, which is literally life and death in an emergency situation. Time is everything in an emergency. I have personally pulled the alarm during two fire drills with permission at the hospital I work at. Just don’t prank pull them is the lesson here
No it’s not. People could have gotten injured trying to get out. Everybody was panicked because the person who set the alarm off made everything stop. Everybody’s screaming, trying to figure out how to get out. The next thing you know is that the fire department comes, and God forbid, your mother is dying a slow painful death because she is trapped in the fire. And the fire department would not be able to reach someone who’s really in danger. That is literally murder! Not worth it at all.

Trainkid1000 Where I live, the fire code requires buildings with large numbers of people to have a voice evacuation system, to minimize confusion and panic. I live on a large campus and our middle/high school building has the voice evac because it is a legal requirement. Mainly the library and cafeteria. Does that help?
