Plot twist: they went in silence for a second cause they all realize they are hearing the classic simplex voice evac

If it goes off when there is no fire, it actually means that someone pulled it by accident.
It just goes from "jazz music" to "OMG THERES A FIRE EVAC"
I go to this school now and I play percussion in their jazz band and wind ensemble, I just came across this and it’s interesting to see how they reacted to this. We also have a different teacher now and we play in a different place.

I think whoever pulled the fire alarm should not have pulled that prank as it is a violation of school policies to do something like that. I have never pulled a false fire alarm, especially during my school years and neither should anybody else.

I showed my band teacher this video she thought it was funny
As someone that works in an auditorium.. and with the same alarm system. This school failed miserably, shame on the auditorium staff. Our protocol is to make an announcement over our booth microphone saying “Ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention, while the cause of the alarm is being investigated all occupants must exit the auditorium. All those on stage should exit using the back stage door, those seated in the lower section should use the doors at the front and sides of the auditorium, and those seated in the balcony should walk to the nearest staircase and exit though the rear doors into the auditorium lobby”.. they didn’t even turn on the lights!
I know my uni (UK) partially sucks. During the alert stage, students were still using the lifts 🛗 (even though the fire could be there?)
That alarm added a nice little melody to that beautiful performance!

False fire alarms are no laughing matter, this is not only dangerous, but illegal as well. Also, this situation wastes the fire department’s time & resources. Very bad indeed!
