Not gonna lie, I would love to see Mojang implement Notch's projects that haven't been implemented yet (the Red Dragon for example) probably won't be 1.21 but possibly a future update (yes, I know it's kind of ironic that a dragon wants a dragon in his favorite game)
While it was initially rumored that the vulture would take your items, it was briefly mentioned that it would actually fly around and locate your items, very similar to how the recovery compass works if you had died. But the rumor of taking your items had already spread and it lost the first round of mob voting.
Vulture attacking zombies would be a cool idea.

10:00 Yes, you can definitely eat it. It's a very sweet fruit but it has a lot of seeds (although they are not so noticeable when eating them), it has a slightly harder coating which is where the thorns are, but it is removed before eating them as you would expect.

Yeah definitely edible. I remember seeing tons of prickly pear food products when visiting the Southwestern USA... jams, jellies, sauces, preserves, juice, etc. Even here in the Midwest I can usually find prickly pears sold in the produce section of many grocery stores. Although for me personally, I don't like the texture of it. The flavor is good though, especially when turned into something else like jam or jelly, etc.
Central Texas is loaded with them. My kids love gathering them and I hate pulling thorns out of their hands.

Tumble weed reminded me of my theory that wind is coming to the game. They already kind of added it with The Breeze, and I'm hoping for windy weather or a drop from the breeze that can add wind to an area.
I wish bamboo was ever so slightly greener and palm wood was yellow, and that right there is your full rainbow done!

I think they will add the tuff and copper golems into 1.21 because they just added new tuff and copper blocks anyway, so it would definitely fit the vibe of the update

something I just thought of watching this, it would be nice if they used the fletching table for different types of arrows; not just potion affects but different heads that deal different damage, like iron or obsidian arrowheads, or maybe using phantom membranes instead of feathers to increase range or speed or something. changing the recipe from sticks to planks (with a yield increase to match the material increase) so different wood types constitute different shafts increasing or reducing time to draw the bow or perhaps do this option with the bow recipe itself but also maybe play around with durability of the bow for it like the rest of the tools.

Palms being in the desert isn't that weird tbh, especially if they add desert oases as you mentioned. If they do, I think they should specifically be date palms though, cause that's the type of palms that grow in deserts in the Middle East usually. Coconut palms are usually more of a tropical/beach tree. I like that idea of dates because just like in real life, dates could provide a nice renewable food source in the desert. They could potentially be used for crafting sugar as well! It would actually be nice to have a tree/wood variety for the desert biome as well... it could be rare, but still common enough that there's some wood source. And palm wood would be pretty unique as well, since palm trees don't actually grow tree rings; that could be an interesting new type of log. And as for palms on beaches, I would LOVE to see those as well, except they would be coconut palms and only appear on warm biome beaches.
The perfect time to add the Bundle was in the Trails and Tales update. Trail Ruins excavations would greatly have benefitted from access to the Bundle to store the large amounts of items found there (pre Shulker Boxes ofc)
Beyond me as to why this item keeps getting ignored by Mojang, but hey at least it’s accessible through experimental features.

@@timohara7717 My comment doesn’t have a complain - it’s a statement. “Beyond me” refers as in beyond my understanding.
The Bundle hasn’t gotten work done as a priority for a while since Mojang is working on other things, but it’s essentially ready to go in Java.
Bedrock seems to be the reason why it’s being put on the backlog since it’s a tough mechanic to implement without straying away from the vanilla feel the devs accommodate for.

Imagine if Mojang did another 2 part update. First one is Trial Chamber, plus all the mobs that lost the mob vote, plus the dessert update, then the 2nd part is combat + end update. I’m just dreaming here, let me dream.

I would love to see a palm trees in the desert and a separate variant or something with joshua trees, new cacti, and some small plants or patches of yellowish grass
A potential idea for combat stuff:
Maybe something like hanging signs and target blocks mixed into one,
Which when you shoot would move and maybe flip up like a trapdoor.

Realistically the most atmospheric things in minecraft is the music and rain. A weather update where we get ambient wind or something would be cool
1. Fletching Table Use:
- Craft arrows using iron nuggets instead of flint. This provides an alternative for players who don't have flint and gives the item a real use.
2. Trick Arrow examples:
- Crafted at the fletching table, most can only be used by a traditional bow.
- Types of trick arrows:
- Arrow of Hypnosis: Uses a glowing ink sac. Not all mobs can be hypnotized, and the effect wears off if there are no enemies.
- Teleportation Arrow: Teleports its target to a safe place.
- Swap Arrow: Swaps the places of the target and the sender.
- Player Teleportation Arrow: Teleports the player.
- Explosive Arrow: Does no block damage and some blocks interrupt the explosion. The non-block damage is too thwart griefers.
- All trick arrows have a cooldown.
3. Additional Ideas:
- great way to add a quiver for storing arrows.
- Iron golems should take reduced damage from arrows as they are essentially walking hulks of steel.
- Arrows should be able to break glass panes.
Torch arrows. Let's you shoot torches to distant places.
Palm trees in the desert? WHY? Makes a lot more sense on the beach or a oasis biome.

The prickly pears are very common in summer in my country, when it rains it becomes soggy and disgusting, when it's daytime and you try to pick them up they have spikes that will pierce you so you have to do it at nighttime
As someone living in a desert, I can confirm there is a species of palm tree native to where I live. Grant it, it’s not the coconut-bearing, tall tree kind, but according to science it’s a palm tree.
Wattles I’m concerned for your legs since in every cut basically you keep falling from the sky and snapping your ankles.
Pretty much a way of saying every “shelved” idea will be added eventually.

I feel that they need to make some tweaks to terrain generation while they're at it. The latest attempt of mine of actually playing Minecraft, I eventually got tired of using the in-game mapping system after generating a few maps and finding nothing interesting except for 1 trail ruin and 1 shipwreck in like a almost fully zoomed out map radius around my base that I downloaded Forge and Xaeru's mapping system and.... geez louise I went probably 3,000+ blocks on every direction of my base and it is nothing but featureless (other than a few villages dotted about) Forest, Birch, Taiga, some ocean, and Beach. I finally hit a frozen biome to the extreme north,a bout 4,000 blocks out.
What's the use of putting in all of these biomes and features, if you can spawn worlds that don't have these biomes for thousands upon thousands of blocks away from spawn? They could really do better with this, with some more procedural generation.

Yeah, about that, other then the Swamp Biome stuff, they really did not keep their word and everyone thinks they will never add them like with the 2017 mobs, a big misconception in the community, but seeing after years of not adding the losing content, you can see why with the mentality in the community tbh, they could of added the Desert stuff last year with the Camel, cherry Blossoms and such, but they did not for some reason, that's why they won't add the copper and Tuff Golems nor the Savannah or the badlands stuff tbh that everyone's hoping for with the Armadillo, but yeah

actualy, there a good chance "palm tree wood" will not be added. palm "trees" are not acutely a tree, if the devs do their research, (in fact its a type of large grass, like bamboo, with to be fair did get a wood-like blockset) and in the tinies trailer, the trunk looks less than a full block.
I think the vulture would be an awesome pet that would collect a certain amount of items if you died and held them for you. But only if you trained them!

For mesa update, I would also suggest to upgrade current cactus, like giving to possybility to make arms ( would work like chorus plants) , and use bone meal on the bottom could turn the cactus into a new wood, that could give grey wood. (No worry for cactus farm because it would happen only if we use bone meal )

I wonder if we'll see the librarian changes get scrapped, while the rest of the villager changes make it live. The wandering trader ones are extremely popular. The armorer stuff is being better received, not sure people are wild about the best armor costing some diamonds as well, given that players are used to the current costs, but Mojang could probably mollify the player base by having some way to renew diamonds (note doesn't have to be super efficient, just good enough that players have some options once they mine up all the easily accessible diamonds). Also if the librarian stuff doesn't go through, then players would have options to get armor with the enchants they want, even if they are really struggling to get a villager from each different biome.
The librarian changes get a ton of push back because RNG can be really brutal. It also feels too much like Mojang just straight up removing a feature. There probably isn't a way they can implement in a way that won't make too much players revolt. The getting the genie back in the bottle on some aspects of librarians isn't going to happen. Also the changes don't really address some core issues that come up with librarians and enchanting in general. Sure in some ways the final level of librarian removes some RNG with enchants, assuming one doesn't get boned on how their world rolls biomes. I mean, yes everyone biome will show up in a standard world, but a player might have to travel really far and go through a bunch of headaches to get a librarian with the enchants they want. There is also the whole issue where that final enchant is selected from a pool, so you still have a certain amount of the villager gacha. I also want to say that the change also means some existing enchants are also no longer available. People are still also going to run into the issue where they are playing the villager gacha trying to roll librarians to have enchants they desire at level one.
To get into enchanting in general, which is where the issues really crop up. There are two issues. The first one is the work limit, which makes having non-maxed enchants very undesirable; especially, if a piece of gear is pretty stacked when it comes to being fully enchanted. Combining Unbreaking I enchant until you get the maximum Unbreaking level, can also mean not being able to have another enchant. So a player just isn't going to want to trade for Unbreaking I. They are going to want to get Unbreaking III from the get go, so that don't have to leave an enchant off of something. Then there is the whole issue where the costs really make no sense. Each enchant costs a certain number of levels and the exp needed for the next level increases. In short I could say do enchanting work at the start of setting my gear up, where it only takes like 4 levels, but have it so that those four levels end up costing more experience than it does to do the final step in the process that might cost something like 40 levels.
Work limit needs to go, they are already implementing a setup where enchants are mutually exclusive. I'm fine if that only applies to enchants, while still having an issue where it gets to expensive to just keep combining gear in order to repair stuff. This means that I would have more incentive to combine lower level enchants into higher level ones; especially, if enchants moved to a system where they cost experience points instead of levels.
I doubt this would invalidate the existing of higher level enchants. Depending on the setup, it would still probably cost less experience to just by a max level enchant off of a villager or get luck out on getting it in some other fashion. This might hurt the enchanting table, but I'd argue any enchanting rework probably should explore the idea of maybe having a few enchants that can only be gotten from the enchanting table.
Depending on technical limitation, it might be interesting to either have the enchant level up increase as a villager levels up professions. So if a librarian gets Unbreaking I at novice, by the time they hit grandmaster, they no longer offer Unbreaking I because it eventually leveled up to the point that the trade is now Unbreaking III instead. If that isn't feasible, maybe as their professions go up, they are guaranteed to get the next level of an enchant that they got at level one. So your grandmaster librarian would have Unbreaking I, Unbreaking II and Unbreaking III. Sure the first too get rendered as obsolete and get ignored once the librarian hits grandmaster, but if the work limit is removed, they'd at least see some use. Also it's not like people don't already have lots of librarian sin their trading halls that trades that the player completely ignores.

While the "meerkats" debated the "fetching table use" revisions in "The Bundle", a "vulture" soaring over the "termite"-infested "baobab tree" spotted a "tumbleweed" bouncing past a "prickly pear" patch, momentarily startling a group of "ostriches" engaged in a heated "combat rework" session to achieve "parity" with the "palm trees".
I’d also love to see the content from Minecraft Dungeons and Earth make it to Java Edition (blocks, items, mobs, animals.)
And the ability to actually tame foxes and ocelots and make them sit.
I have said this so many times but for me my dream would be to finally have an apple tree for my apples!
Tumbleweeds: Since it doesn't rain in deserts and badlands, Mojang may add a wind effect to those biomes, (or even to all biomes) during storms. This effect could even be an offshoot/relative of the Breeze attack. When wind is active, loose tumbleweeds could blow in the same or a random direction. They may also become mobile entities that can be moved by other hitboxes, while not being autonomous "mobs".
I would love for long grass to sway in the wind, similar to how kelp sways

I am a desert dweller and I can confirm, prickly pears are good if done right.
I swear you can make tipped arrows in survival though and get them from villagers, like a lingering potion of whatnot in the middle (potion with dragons breath bottle thing in brewing stand, like splash) and use that and surround it in a crafting table with basic arrows
Also, that "desert" update is just adding a new tree and mob, nothing really, like they could do it in any biome, they should do something actually using the biome, like wells, the sand village, temple, stuff like that not just adding but building upon
And, tumbleweed is literally known as being boring, it would be just as boring and not add much ambience imo
Maybe they will make us able to add multiple effects to one arrow using the fletching table?
Rather than more mobs that don’t do anything, I’d rather see complete slab/stair/wall/fence sets for all the existing blocks.
Fletching is the stuff at the back end of the arrow that helps it fly straight
We have yellow wood(bamboo), red wood(crimson), blue wood(warped), pink wood(cherry), black wood(dark oak or spruce), brown wood(others) but we are missing a green one
You're forgetting the Orange wood(Acacia) and Magenta wood
(Mangrove)

One idea I desperately wish minecraft would get is a mob that defends you and villager with range attacks. Also for this mob and iron golems tobe attached to you are areas around an special block

About votes features, if they can come back just on a thing : the phantom. I don't ask to remove or rework it, but just giving up this idea to oblige players to go to a bed, it's useless and frustrating and there are no reason to keep this if most of player hate his. Just an other way to get insomnia to make it optional, that stupid to take time to work on a mob to be hated at end. Ok they made a gamerule, but in that case, give back elytras fixable with leather, and give alternatives way to get phantoms. This shouldn't take so much importance as long as there was peoples who didn't vote for this, and some millions of players didn't have the possibility to vote.
If peoples like the current feature, i'm not against to keep a gamerule for this, but it's good for single players or servers between friend, but it don't fit with publics servers. In the server where I play, peoples complain about phantoms but the staff can't disable them because of related content.

The desert biome is really empty honestly it could use a new mob to make it feel more alive during the day , with the exception of rabbits being pretty often found in the desert biome , the meerkats would be a very cute addition , I don't know how you could tame them or what purpose they would have ?
I will be big sad if bedrock doesn’t get sweeping edge in this update. I’m ready to be a sweeping edge lord.
Mojang should honestly just release an update with all of these planned features bundled into it. (See what I did there?) That would really bring some much needed positivity to the community.
