  • We took exit from North Portal of Atal Tunnel and were driving towards Keylong when suddenly we noticed some 4x4 SUVs playing the dirt on the banks of Chenab. We thought about our baby, when can she have fun too? We let her go and play too.
Meridian ko bola - "Jaa Simran, jaa.. Jee le apni zindagi... pad thode time ke liye.. Jispa bhi pahuchna hai!!"
Disclaimer - The actions taken in this video were after due permission from the local authorities on the spot. None of the actions were intended to harm nature or risk general safety. The tracks which lead to the river banks were well defined, however the inclination and the surface were treacherous. Venture on these tracks only if you have a 4x4 vehicle with a high ground clearance. Front wheel drive cars may not have enough traction to climb back these tracks. Cars with low ground clearance may get the underbelly damaged because of large boulders on the track. This area should never be ventured into during monsoon as the soil is loose and there may be chances of flood, loss of property and life. Travel safely.

3:34 finally some offroad! but I think it's just start, normal off-roading for 4x4.
Excited to see more meridian off-roading when you reach the Ladakh.
4:07 we love to see more outside view (from your mobile cam offcourse) not just a dashcam view :-)

Yes, more heavy off roading are coming . This was indeed just a warm up.. we tried to take some shots from outside too.. but it was a bit difficult at those places to get down to take the shots. 😅

How was your overall experience with the car. Did the car stuck at any bump or touched ground? Tiy

Hi, it was an excellent experience with Jeep in such terrains. The ride quality was good. Yes, there were two occasions where the front skid plate touched the ground, because the inclination was too steep and I didn't notice that. I guess if I had been dead slow, it wouldn't have touched. However, there was no occasion where the underbelly scratched. The ground clearance is more than adequate for such terrains. Notable is its suspension. I would really urge you to watch episode 12 of this Leh series. I have tried to explain about the suspension there..

If you took "i20" down there and safely climbed back, then congratulations to you because it was your lucky day. If you are thinking about doing this just to prove that "i20" can go down there, please don't, especially if you are with your family. A front wheel drive car can definitely go down there, but won't come up because of the steep gradient, loose soil/sand and boulders. Plus, you need adequate ground clearance to avoid damaging your underbelly. My humble opinion, though. Take care, be safe.
