  • A video about Marcus "Strongsage" Macias and his very brief Quake career, before he went to pursue Counter-Strike. Marcus was perhaps one of my favorite people in the Quake scene. PS I might have mispronounced his last name =D
Photos and video used from: PGL, KeenCon, Quake Pub, MCS Gaming, ShaftasticTV & screenshots from Liquipedia

Quake needs this documentary type stuff. The history is so great you could have multiple movies made on legends of the game.

I cant believe ID/Bethesda/Microsoft would do this community so dirty then turn around and make yet another single player Doom game that has so little to do with traditional Doom and Quake gameplay. They abandoned QPL, dont seem to be working on a new Quake, and put all their focus on an un-needed Bloat-Doom sequel that could have just been a DLC for Doom Eternal. I just dont get it, they've essentially destroyed the careers of some amazing players, while touting a keyboard tap dancing simulator (I really hate the single button selects and fires the stupid bonus weapons and punch not to mention the secondary fire options on most weapons and skill tree, god I hate Doom Eternal)
Cheers to StrongSage and hopefully Quake comes back somehow, this video was very touching to watch even though I'm a little late to seeing it.

    Agree 💯
Fella had so many haters and he proved so many wrong. I hope to see him back playing and streaming Quake.
He'd probably be amazing at Diabotical Rogue - I wanna see that stream !

To be fair most of his criticism was because most of his plays wouldn't work on lan. notice that by the time he went to lan he had already reined in a lot of the terrible habits he was able to get away with online, and wasnt just mindlessly rushing as often anymore.
I like sSage, but the criticism at first was definitely warranted. I remember in a stream right before he started not having the same results(won like 2-3 estotys in a row) and he changed to less aggressive. he said 'I don't know guys...just everything i do...like WORKS....' loll
Even he didn't realize how much the online effected his play and his opponents ability to hit him
