My top 5 favorite solos by John: 1) Look On (from his solo career, not RHCP) 2) Turn It Again 3) Wet Sand 4) Hard To Concentrate (during the last chorus) 5) Hey
I know this comment is from 9 years ago but I can’t agree with you more on the “Look On” solo. It is by far his best. It keeps going and you think it’s gonna end and then it gets even better about three different times.
John is not a guitarist. He is part of our soul. He touches us inside. He plays the strings of our emotions. He makes us feel what only people who have lived deeply can feel. Thank you John❤️.
este solo es increible y indescriptible, produce demasiado sentimientos, muchos matices, pareciera que john nos estaba mandando un mensaje a traves de la guitarra, de una mistica y epica sin igual.
that is the last concert RHCP played with John. And it's like he's saying goodbye with this beautiful solo. Makes me want to cry every time I hear it. Thank you Jonh and I love you!
Up at my dads grave on his birthday listening to this. Two years without him and I have listened to Frusciante almost every day, the power of music is truly amazing. God bless you John for helping me through dark times without even having to speak.
This is not his most technical solo, but this is an amazing solo. What frusciante does with his guitar is truly amazing, and I really hate it when people think playing music is all about playing really fast and showing off.
You obviously regard a solo as a million notes played a second....these kinds of solos are soulful and meaningful, you hear every note and take it in. Appreciate it.
I think many people have different opinions on what the 'best solo' is. This is one of my favorites because I love the melody and it has so much emotion in it. It's like you can tell what he wants to say without him saying a word. It's awesome. I mean I also love the solos where he tears it up on the guitar but these kinds of solos are my favorite
Sweet Jesus. I watched this video like a year ago...and I was listening to it last night, all night in my dreams. I woke up in a complete perplexion trying to remember what the fuck was that. After searching all day I found it in this little corner of youtube. God what are you trying to tell me????
John clearly has the talent and knack for guitar that could make him a technical sage, however he also clearly understands where he should take his guitar playing to, and that these guitar virtuosos haven't really progressed anywhere groundbreaking since Hendrix...on the other hand with John's music, is truly groundbreaking as well as his collaborations with Lopez and Klinghoffer...
No words can describe how amazing this man is....unbeliveable...I can't decide how can someone be able to improvise something like this live? Or did he "made" this before the concert?..amazing..
this is such a sad solo but i mean it in a good way compared to other more energetic solos this one just makes me wanna cry but yet its so deep, soulful, rich and beautiful :)
Most people believed that playing faster determines how a good a guitarist is . John Frusciante focused more on melody, tone and structure rather than virtuosity. When he was growing up in the 1980s, many mainstream guitarists focused on speed. Because of this, he thinks that the skills of many defiant New Wave and punk guitarists were largely overlooked.
@ambinek There are various types of solos: technically difficult solos, fast solos, solos impossible ... but this solo is simply the best because it is a journey into another world, is a different atmosphere of a planet, breathe air that does not know, and you can listen a thousand times, but you do not to recognize that air .. . that's great! it 's the best!
John's solo is amazing no doubts. For me what makes it so incredible is the combination of bass and guitar playing together at some point with the bass perfectly supporting the guitar's solo. And that's what makes RHCP good. All the instruments work together and it's not just an amazing guitarists showing off.
The slide he concludes with is completely ineffable ........ 💖 Frusciante must have inspired countless guitarists to strive to “be as good as you can be”, me included.
its always dont forget me he has amazing solo's and i think its a message to all rhcp fans that we will never forget frusciante he's amazing and inspiring as a guitarist and its sad that he's gone :/
I don't see how there could be a "best solo ever" for this artist. It's not like a gymnastics meet where you are awarded point for certain acts and are rated for difficulty and execution. Music has an otherworldly element you cannot quantify to award "best solo" to. Especially in the case of this musician!
you dont judge a great guitar player by his technicality a great guitar player is one who can transmit his emotions to the audience thru his guitar playing john may not b the most techical guitarist bt he has loads of feel and thats y he is the best guitarist of this generation
*random single notes* *turns on wha pedal* *slow "snow" cords arpeggio* *slow pac-man theme* Nailed it. (still one of the best guitar player of all times imho)
I have actually played this solo along with the headphones on and its not easy one...every note is perfectly blended ...its a perfect solo at the level of best solos ever made...not kiddin here, been played a lot !
Outro to the song Dont Forget Me. it is pretty fucking beautiful. go watch live performances throughout the years of that song they are all amazing. especially at Slane Castle and at Chorzow
John has the ability to make "simple" melodies that touch your soul. You can play as fast as you want but real skill is to make something that connects with who you are.
Sure, there's a lot of guitarists that are "faster, harder, crazier", whatever....but how many put all of their heart and soul into their playing like John does? I mean, you can literally SEE the music moving through him when he plays...like he just can't help it--it just moves him that way and it has to come out through his playing. You can keep your "faster, harder, and crazier"....I'll take John Frusciante ANY day!
definitely the most melodically expressive. it adresses the subconscious, like any piece of good music. but so few realize it. their brain is too much under the pop culture's influence.
@smith37s Who is questioning Johns virtuoso? John can do it all, but he prefers to play music with emotion, rather than speed. He describes his playing as using his guitar to "take the emotions inside me, and project them for other people to feel them too". This is the best way to play.
@RobTheMisfit i think this is one of the best comments that is put under rhcp... your so right i mean everybody has got some ideas and that is what makes music so important. its a way to express what words cant tell and so i think everybody has got to bear in mind that for every individual there will be different reasons to like a song, or in this case, a guitar solo,
Anyone who thinks this is a bad solo because it's not so technical doesn't understand the emotion of music. This is pure emotion, thanks John.
This solo makes me sad and happy at the same time.
Thanks J. Frusciante.
+Andrés Moràn Flores It's life. Bitter and sweet, can't have one without the other. gorgeous.
Sappy
Alot of raw emotion
Be happy again my friend, he’s back
There's this saying: "Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable."
Well, this solo sums it up pretty well in my opinion.
Banksy says people phrase it
@silentiom disturb as in evoke emotion
What if im comfortable and comforted at the same time?
My top 5 favorite solos by John:
1) Look On (from his solo career, not RHCP)
2) Turn It Again
3) Wet Sand
4) Hard To Concentrate (during the last chorus)
5) Hey
Dont forget me lacigale
Wet sand solo is insane
Stadium Arcadium man :)
Shes only 18
I know this comment is from 9 years ago but I can’t agree with you more on the “Look On” solo. It is by far his best. It keeps going and you think it’s gonna end and then it gets even better about three different times.
there are commercial "artists" and then there are real artists were you can feel theyre soul in every piece...john is one of those keeping it real
John is not a guitarist. He is part of our soul. He touches us inside. He plays the strings of our emotions. He makes us feel what only people who have lived deeply can feel. Thank you John❤️.

this really shows how in awe of frusciante the rest of the band were. and probably always will be
I love his Don't Forget Me solos. They are amazing.

9 years today still amazing
this was the last outro from don't forget me and for me one of the best outros ever.. Reading, 2007
I will never get over this solo, it makes me want to cry every time.
This is not his most technical solo, but this is an amazing solo. What frusciante does with his guitar is truly amazing, and I really hate it when people think playing music is all about playing really fast and showing off.

What an amazing solo! Total feel!!!!
So amazing. So very talented. So very beyond anyone who is out there on the radio right now, and its been like that for some time now.
I bet any active guitarist could hardly pull such an emotion provoking music . John is master of whole spectrum of emotions .
John´s jam solos for this song always make me want to cry. How can they jam something so beautiful every time?
:') frusciante is big he is an example of life his music makes me be relax ,bravo frusciante

Still got my heart and dont let go.. John, the only one, who give melodies so much feelings.. *I dont cry, you cry!*
John clearly has the talent and knack for guitar that could make him a technical sage, however he also clearly understands where he should take his guitar playing to, and that these guitar virtuosos haven't really progressed anywhere groundbreaking since Hendrix...on the other hand with John's music, is truly groundbreaking as well as his collaborations with Lopez and Klinghoffer...
if a day is going to become a mad day just listen to this interaction of johnny and bäm heart warming feelings
No words can describe how amazing this man is....unbeliveable...I can't decide how can someone be able to improvise something like this live? Or did he "made" this before the concert?..amazing..
Viktor Koleda if it was improvised it's MIND BLOWING
They are playing Don't Forget Me, right?
Crippling Depression yez
Random Guy Ye the best version Reading 2007
Aaron Hands
putting together la cigale's intro and solo, and this outro, then you have the perfect performance of this song
They sure are -- I think this version is better: ua-cam.com/video/fV9IJVoFR_Q/v-deo.html
its the life behind the solo that makes it so hauntingly beautiful
Legend

we didn't forget you, john :)
I don't forget this solo ! I'll never forget !
Love that guitar sound. I can listen to that all day.
the emotion that is brought out in this solo, is unmatchable
Pure John. Pure emotion. He wears his heart on his guitar.
So beautiful
@ambinek There are various types of solos: technically difficult solos, fast solos, solos impossible ... but this solo is simply the best because it is a journey into another world, is a different atmosphere of a planet, breathe air that does not know, and you can listen a thousand times, but you do not to recognize that air .. . that's great! it 's the best!
The always RHCPGuy John Frusciante, we will never forget John and you dont forget us please!

my favorite chili pepper song john always does or did an outrageous solo for the ending of dont forget me.... john youll never be forgotten
Great solo, but not his best
***** To quote john frusciante himself "as if there is some sort of criteria to actually rank guitarists"
Don't forget me is the best solo
@@ferdiaroalbert989 This is Don't forget me
@@sexuallobster134679 hahahaha

His Guitar is talking like saying "good bye guys, thanks for all" ........¿where is the subtitles?
Mininalist ,sad ,beautiful
BEATIFUL
john was the soul of the band, flea was the fingers and toes, chad was the arms and legs and Anthony was the head.
check the solo of "don't forget me" in rock in rio, lisbon 2006. the one that moved me the most..
john just brings me into a very special place!!!!!!!!!!
Every time you listen to a chilipeppers song live it's like hearing a new awesome song :) John is by far my fav guitarist!

Omg, I still don't know how Flea gets that sound from his bas..
He is playing chords. Very simple
nope
willemm1998
i mean from 0:50 on
oMkRnRTz That's still chords...
oMkRnRTz he's playing chords dude with the occasionally noted fills. He has some kind of flanger/chorus on his effects chain as well.
I'm so glad John Frusciante is back! RHCP magic to my ears coming soon! I know it!

fast shreds are cool and it can take a few years to learn, but playing with feeling like this takes a lifetime
In my opinion one of the best frusciante's solo is in the song called "my lovely man"..very intensive!!
