Hi, Aaron. I use AZ60 with sony's eartips (EP-NI1000). I feel the AZ60's ANC performance has improved with new eartips. I'd like to watch a video comparing the ANC performance of the AZ60 with XM4 after replacing the eartips.
I never found the XM4 to be that good with ANC. The Liberty 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds Pro were better performing in my ears. The AZ60 is stellar in comparison. It is primarily due to the right Technics tip providing an excellent seal. I do find though I lose ANC effectiveness if I don't get the tip to fit exactly right in my ears each time. Takes a couple insertions. I'm going to try some Comply foam tips next week.
The Comply tips for the EAH-AZ60 work really well for me. I now use them on pretty much every earbud and IEM I have! The XM4 ANC works well with them. Better than stock.
I have both, and I just found a small issue with the Technics, being that you can't access the app on both devices while using the multi-point feature. Bummer.
I feel like the AZ60s are the perfect daily driver earbuds. Right up towards the top in terms of sound quality, great call quality, excellent ANC and transparency mode... It doesn't particularly do anything the best, but it does everything EXTREMELY well. They're very well rounded, and it doesn't hurt that they're the best fitting ear buds for me that I've ever tried. My EXs are still going to be my go-to for music listening sessions where I just want to wear a pair of ear buds and relax rather than headphones, but the AZ60s are definitely going to be in my pocket/bag wherever I go. Absolutely love them! Especially for $169 from the Amazon sale.
if i am guy who need true wireless for daily usage especially in gym are these technics okay? Or is it worth to pay for new bose QC2? Had sennheiser momentum they have excellent sound.
@@Ciprful the JBL reflect flow pro or (especially if you have an iPhone) the beats fit pro would be your best bet at that point. Both would be far better for the gym and would work fine for daily buds. The AZ60s and QC2s would not work very well in the gym in my opinion.
@@TheRedGlint4427 I had Sennheiser Momentum (1) and they are similar as Technica and I have zero issue. I have no Iphone, but I am audiophil :D Need best sound and I think QC2 would fit well into fitness, of course I will use them as well in normal usage. But idk if it´s worth for money
@@Ciprful if you value sound quality above all else then QC2 are not the answer lol you'd be better suited for these in that case. The beoplay ex are the best of the best in terms of pure sound quality so if you're willing to drop the cash for them. Otherwise, the momentum 3s or the AZ60s would be your next best bet. Even the Beoplay EQs if they're on sale would probably sound the 2nd best next to the EX. From what I understand the MTW3s are slightly better than the AZ60s in the sound department but I've never tried them so I don't know for sure. I do know that if there's a difference it's not THAT significant because the AZ60s sound damn good and are not all that far off of my EXs. I'd say out of 10 the Technics are 9 out of 10 whereas the EX are a 10. I would imagine the MTW3s are a 9.5 from my understanding if that puts it into perspective.
@@Ciprful although if you have a phone that doesn't support LDAC go for something that supports APTX like the Sennheisers or B&O. AZ60s are worse off if you don't use LDAC on the quality setting.
I bought these and, of all the buds I've tried over the last year, these are the absolute best. They pretty much check all my boxes. Exquisite but fun sound, wide sound stage, noisy environment call quality, ANC, fit, seal, comfort, touch control, app. Ambient would be better if super - hearing were available. Turning off single tap would be nice (but see comments below!) Overall, much better than the XM4, even the ANC, for me at least
I think they are slightly over-priced. No wireless charging, no in-ear sensing and low battery life. Yes, they look boring. Sub-$200 is a more appropriate price IMO Phenomenal job for just a 2nd gen TWS though.
@@giorgina-Z all taps are disabled, not just a single tap. Super - hearing is not created with 100% setting in Ambient mode. It's a realistic ambient but not amplified
@@AllenReinecke It is, I have them and have disabled single tap and super hearing in ambient mode. Maybe you need to update the app first, I don't know
@@giorgina-Z I rechecked the app and your are indeed correct on the "No Function" option for any one of the touch controls. I must have missed that when I first set them up, with it being right at the bottom of the list. I saw the Touch Sensor Operation ON/OFF selector. I occasionally pause the music with a poorly-placed double finger tap for volume control or a slight brush when rearranging my hair! Regarding super-hearing, the ambient at max is what I would call natural hearing (ie no buds). I am talking about SUPER-hearing as particularly on the Galaxy Buds Pro and also the Liberty 3 Pro. There's an article about a study, using the GBP as hearing aids.
I have pair of the AZ60s. After several months of use, which I was was very pleased with, first one bud suddenly lost all bass, and then the other. I have reset them to factory settings, updated the firmware through the IOS app, and even contacted Technics customer support who suggested I return to the vendor because they aren't interested in repairing them. I bought mine from Ebay many months before so that was a non-starter. So they're good while they last I guess, but that wasn't for long in my case considering the price you pay, and now they sound like a pair you could pick up for $20.
I have both of Sony XM4 and Technics AZ60 as well. The memory form ear tips used by Sony is way much better fit than Technics. Yes you can add aftermarket tips but it will change the factory sound nature. The Sony definitely sounds better with more warmth, but more importantly more detail retrieval, better bass accuracy, wider soundstage and more spatial presentations. The Technics is good for pop but their bright sound signature is sometimes too harsh on some music especially female voices. In terms of apps, Technics may have more manual options, but on the other hand they don't have much smart learning automation like Sony. For example Technics can't automatically adjust ANC levels and trigger ambient mode according to the GPS location learnt from your usage patterm. In Android version Technics always throws out notifications which can't be disenabled like Sony. Sony continues to extend their lead on ANC performance. For microphone quality under noisy environments, Technics still occasionally pickup someone else's voice nearby rather than my voice like many other true wireless. Sony doesn't have this issue at all. In my opinion, Technics is one or half a class below Sony and hence reflected by her price.
@Moshi moshi try different tips until you get a seal. There's no way around that, you need a seal for the ANC to have any chance of working. You also need a seal for the bass. I use Azla Crystal for TWS on them, they seal well.
Please review against the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. I was planning on buying these AZ60s but went for the 7 Pros instead as they offered more in terms of wireless charging, longer batter life, in ear detection, IP57, slidetone and come in a cool beige/gold colour. Oh and they were waaaaaay cheaper! I have no previous experience with wireless buds but I'm happy so far with the 7 Pros although I have found that when paired to 2 devices at the same time (S22 Ultra and HP laptop) that I experience some latency when viewing YT videos on the laptop. Other than that, auto switching between the 2 devices works great. Disconnecting one device seems to cure the latency issue and I'm hoping that a firmware update could improve this. As for ANC, they are fine, I'm sure there are better out there but for my needs they do the job. Great review, thanks!

I think the Technics has better bass and longer battery life. LinkBuds S has better call quality and a much more compact form factor. So small you can even use those for sleeping. I personally use the LinkBuds S a lot more because of that portability.
@@Darkii1589 I ended up buying the Sony XM4, only becuase they were the same price and I think the Sonys look better. I think either one I would have been happy with.
I have both. The status between pro have more bass and a more dynamic sound, but I think the Technics are more accurate. The status pros are VERY loud too which is a plus!
Same here after using the xm4 all other earbuds i own or my friend earbuds just sounds shitty to me. By no means that they are really that bad but this is just wht i experienced and it's hard for me to even think of getting a new pair of earbuds when the xm4 is already at this level of satisfaction for me. Nonetheless i still think that there are still quite a lot of great earbuds out there.
I've found the base has more character than the Bose QC though the anc is not as complete. I'd love to see a little more from the picking up my officemates voice when I'm on a call but it's better than anything else.
@Vittoria nope. I wonder if that is responsible for the improved base. Without really regimented testing i find it hard to ascribe differences in sound to codec v the drivers between sets. Bottom line is I enjoy each of my sets for different tasks and depending on what i feel like.
@@racertv9so true. The AZ60 reach 108dB, which is less than 2 minutes to cause some permanent hearing loss. You never really notice until you're older and struggling to hear.

@@stufish73 Thanks for your comment, good to know that there are more people satisfied with Elite 7 Pro's, because when you go through Reddit threads you would end up with impression, that Jabra's are totally bad and that one and only you should buy is Soundcore Liberty 3 pro ;) It's not easy to but TWS these days ;)
Just bought my az80😊
Technicks az60 vs soundscore liberty 3 pro???
Cant wait for wf1000xm4 vs astell&kern uw100!!
How is this compared to lonkbud s?
I think the Technics has better bass and longer battery life. LinkBuds S has better call quality and a much more compact form factor. So small you can even use those for sleeping. I personally use the LinkBuds S a lot more because of that portability.
Thanks a lot!
Omg you were at northpoint!
Fantastic review, I was set on buying the AZ60 but I checked on Amazon and the Sony XM4 are £5 cheaper...now I am really confused....
Same, dunno which one is better, which one you bought?
@@Darkii1589 I ended up buying the Sony XM4, only becuase they were the same price and I think the Sonys look better. I think either one I would have been happy with.
@@fabscams4136 yea the sony looks fancy but i would like to know which sounds best
The XM3 were far better looking.
Great video
Thanks!
Really nice and detailed comparison!
Love my az60s
I still don't know why Panasonic didn't come out with a version of these. Technics is pretty pricey.
Panasonic is the mother company of Technics.
@@reanult457 I know that. But with their previous models Panasonic offered a more affordable alternative to the Technics tws earbuds.
Anyone know how to pair these?
But how do they compare to the Status Between Pro?
I have both. The status between pro have more bass and a more dynamic sound, but I think the Technics are more accurate. The status pros are VERY loud too which is a plus!
I stay with my Sonys XD
Same here after using the xm4 all other earbuds i own or my friend earbuds just sounds shitty to me. By no means that they are really that bad but this is just wht i experienced and it's hard for me to even think of getting a new pair of earbuds when the xm4 is already at this level of satisfaction for me. Nonetheless i still think that there are still quite a lot of great earbuds out there.
@@zeroanime01 lo just tune with the sony eq and you can get sound signature same to pricey tws
@@ainajoe5874 lol no. I tried that before and it doesn't even come close. I think u just don't understand how it work 🤓
az60 is way more expensive in Malaysia RM950, sony xm4 is around RM750
where to get sony in rm750?
Sonys we’re good but really painful
I've found the base has more character than the Bose QC though the anc is not as complete. I'd love to see a little more from the picking up my officemates voice when I'm on a call but it's better than anything else.
@Vittoria nope. I wonder if that is responsible for the improved base. Without really regimented testing i find it hard to ascribe differences in sound to codec v the drivers between sets. Bottom line is I enjoy each of my sets for different tasks and depending on what i feel like.
@Vittoria thank you so much! The technical perspective is very illuminating.
May I know the sound volume between two buds ?
Check out El Jefe's review. He lists dB levels.
@@AllenReinecke Noted and will try to find, thx
They should both get plenty loud enough, they are in-ear buds (and with ANC). Do you need it to be loud enough to give you permanent hearing loss?
@@racertv9so true. The AZ60 reach 108dB, which is less than 2 minutes to cause some permanent hearing loss. You never really notice until you're older and struggling to hear.

eah-az60 is the best in 2022and2021
Am i the only one who hates foam ?
Sony is cheaper leh... Technics dun have much discount...
Q😅😅😅😅😅
Don't buy the Sony's....battery issues. Won't buy another set of Sony earbuds after my latest experience. Also the call quality on the Sony is absolutely dreadful
Tired of « hear the difference »!!!!!!! Worst channel of audio on youtube… period ! False title ! And gun test for latency is … we don’t care about !!! So, that’s it for this channel ! Bye
