FIRST PLACE! at the Salisbury Plain Ultra 50 miler 2024 | My first ultramarathon podium finish

I won my first ultra - and I only signed up for it a few days beforehand! Had a great time running 50 miles around Salisbury Plain, the largest military training ground in the UK.
Rather than racing it, I made a new friend and we crossed the finish line together, but one of us had to get first place and my chip time clinched it!
A really well organised event by And-Over Trail Events with fabulous volunteers and a clearly marked, highly runnable course.

Is most of this race off road , it looks amazing

Yeah a very small amount of paved road - the vast majority is crushed gravel and there are a few very nice sections of single track trail too. Very runnable throughout (we accidentally spent the first few hours on target for a 7hr finish before we reined it in a bit 😅)
