    Winning both singles and doubles:
    Lopez: Hold my backhand slice

      @starman3533 3 роки тому +2

      What does that even mean

      @@starman3533 in the third set 6-5 40 all lopez did a backhand slice that went out and that was a crucial point

      @@craig170 could also be that a characteristic of Lopez is his backhand slice. Sort of an ongoing joke on the tour that he basically never hits a proper backhand just slices it back!

    One of the best grass-courters of his generation. If Wimbledon courts were still fast he might've won a title.

      Agreed, he’s a fantastic grass court player! Excellent touch and his net skills when they’re on are beautiful to watch. So glad he was able to add another Queens trophy to his cabinet!

      Yes, that must have been frustrating for Lopez, they started slowing down the courts in the later years of his juniors. So, when Lopez came to seniors he ended up with techniques that doesn't give him any footing in these courts.

    I’ll never forget watching Lopez lose the 2014 final after having championship point. Seeing him hiding under his towel afterwards I decided I would root for him in this tournament.
    2017 was unbelievable as he won after saving a championship point in the final. That alone was an amazing story. To win it again in 2019 as a wildcard, AND the doubles! Phenomenal!!

    As a Simon fan, this was probably the most painful defeat i've seen. His run to the final was super dramatic and i remember feeling glad Lopez won against FAA on the semis. It was no fluke eventually. Lopez was immense in the final and although i don't like his technique, it's nice to see another humble veteran have an incredible story at the twilight of his career.

    Oh yeah, I remember this tournament. A lifetime memory for Lopez for sure.
    I think he‘s one of the best looking players in men’s tennis. I wish I had his build, so cool.
    Unless that means I am losing my ability to hit a backhand drive, because I would then probably not take it:)
