Great video mate, it is a lottery buying secondhand especially with an ebike and if warranty is transferable or not etc. Cannot believe it was a case of pushing the plug in harder 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣
Glad all is fixed now at least amd you have that winter hack you wanted 👍🏼

@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland know that feeling, also where to go as I am really limited locally during this lockdown and all really flat around me 😭
Hope you are all safe and well and had a great Xmas and New Year 👍🏼

This is why I'm not in a rush to buy one. More issues to troubleshoot 🙂 Great story!

Thanks for the heads up! The thought of buying a used ebike is a bit scary. Buying any used MTB is a bit precarious.

I agree. But if you do your research and are prepared to accept a bit of risk there is a lot of money to be saved.

Nice one mate... I'm currently feeling you pain as I am having to replace all the trashed bits and bobs on my Enduro, and it (at times) feels like a never ending list... As soon as some new parts arrive... Something else goes Kaput... Stoopid bikes! :D

I'm inclined to agree. At least I'd had plenty of use out of this one before it started going all wrong. Just imagine if you'd shelled out a load of money on it secondhand, and this then happened!?!! Having said that, the market for secondhand e-bikes is growing as more and more become available. Let's face it, very few people can afford to throw away something so expensive when they are no longer using it.

Hi what do you think of your new orbea. Which one did you buy. And how has your experience been with orbea customer service and getting spare parts? In Norway there is just one bike store in Oslo and I really regret buying my bike from them. They have the worst customer service i ever have experienced.

Sorry to hear you’re regretting the purchase. Personally, I’m really enjoying riding the bike. The quality of the paint work does leave something to be desired though. I’m lucky enough to have a good local bike shop who really look after me whenever there are issues and So far, I haven’t had had any problems getting the few spare parts I have needed.

Thank you so much. It might have cost a lot, but I have to say, it still rides as good as ever. There is definitely nothing wrong with the frame and geometry!

How have the tyre inserts held up . What pressure do you run . Thanks Doc

    • @TrailTrackerSwitzerland
      @TrailTrackerSwitzerland  3 роки тому +1

The tyre inserts are doing good. No punctures. As far as pressures go, I run somewhere in the mid to low 20s psi depending on conditions.

It seems that these mountain bikes suffer from bad connections being a common fault, i would replace or upgrade connectors ie military grade, as for batteries you can get these refurbished which works out cheaper. Try not to get unusual brand electronics and fittings get well known brands ie Bosch or Shimano etc make sure the are all the same or at least compatible.

Good points! EMTB is awesome fun, but If anyone is thinking of getting into it, they need to know that there are still reliability issues and as a result it can become expensive. Having said that though, my Bosch is now almost 2 years old and has been completely trouble free. Hopefully that doesn’t jinx it 🙈

@@TrailTrackerSwitzerland Amphenol are good military grade connectors, they use these in aircraft tanks etc, may pay to swap these out especially what a mountain bike goes through not only damp, water but hard knocks and constant bumping. I am looking at buying an electric bike but they are quite expensive.

If you bought a new battery then u shud have warranty on that new battery. u seem to give up and not use the resources the way you needed to. This wud of been very easy to fix.

    • @TrailTrackerSwitzerland

Sorry, I don't understand your comment. When I replaced the battery, there was no warranty left on the old one and since replacing it the bike now works fine.
