I am a 69 yr old Grandma, and out of all of the class C , I choose the Jayco Redhawk!! It is my dream! You can make a separate shelf for the kitchen, set up the Coffeemaker on the table, or Slow cooker etc! I love this rig!!
One thing that worries me is some trailers or RVs that I find interesting only come with a slide. You can't find them without one. What irritates me a bit is that everything is built or laid out to be used with the slide. As a result, if you can customize the RV to be built solid (no slide), it's going to probably cost the same if not more than with a slide! Why? They'll have to relocate a lot of stuff to free up some space.
@@largol33t1 you'd be surprised how much more comfort you get from even just a 12-in slide. It opens everything up and you don't feel like you're walking down a small Corridor of a cave. Especially if you get caught in a couple days of rain you're so much more comfortable with the space of small slide will get you. We had a travel trailer before they put slides in them and we had a full size Class A RV motorhome with two slides and it was wonderful! My husband and I got so tired of turning sideways to get by each other in the travel trailer.
I love my class c and I am 76. I have traveled everywhere and had so much fun for 5 years. My grown kids had a fit when I bought it and I told them to leave me alone.
Some of the most important things for older women was never looked at. As an older woman myself, we must look at features that aid us when our mobility declines. 1. Auto levelors and auto stabilizers 2. Black and gray tank dump locations...how low, how far under the edge of the rv, location of the valve pulls, etc. 3. Steps into RV. Solid? Handrails? Extra step added for lower risers - lessening the steepness. 4. Enough space for getting off the potty with bad knees...you need space to lean forward and get up. Without those things it doesn't matter what else is in the RV. You guys are fun though to watch... enjoy!
Thank you. We actually did look at most of those things (except the steps). We eliminated the walk around of the outside to shorten the video and also because they were pretty much the same on every one we looked at.
I'm a 63 year old retired guy and was thinking of purchasing an RV to live off the grid and visit the sites of our country. I held back, being a bit hesitant on traveling solo with no one to share the experience with. However, the comments of the many women my age and older that are soloing removed my hesitation. A big thank you to all the brave, adventurous ladies.
I own a 2007 Mercedes sprinter Leisure travel. It does not have a slide. It’s the model with the L-shaped couch in the back. The table behind the cab seats fit 4 adults very comfortably. That table is easy to put down and sleeps two people very well. The L-shaped couch in the back has a push button so you can use it as a full-size bed which is what she would need or a queen bed. Refrigerator is three way. Which I would not own anything that wasn’t a three-way after having it. The bathroom is small but The toilet position is very comfortable. The shower is great size and has a good shower Accordion door. I have no leakage. I am 74 years old and did not want the problems with a slide but I wanted to feel of Spaciousness and this model accommodates that. The new ones are pretty pricey but you can find good maintained used ones. The quality is excellent. I have absolutely no rattles in mine and it’s pretty old. So before she buys I really think you should check out leisure travel. They’re based out of Canada. They have some very good videos of Different styles. It is a diesel engine which you probably already know but I can tell you I get an average of 17 miles to the gallon. Because I do not have the weight of a slide my freshwater tank is 50 gallons and my gray and black tanks are 36 gallons each. Also I have a good storage all the way around the outside. One of the storage doors even has a slide out drawer that I can keep the barbecue and tools etc. in and I don’t have to fumble around moving things around to get them out. Also it’s called the freedom 2 model if you want to try to find it and see what I’m talking about. Mine is all black leather. And as old as it is it’s in perfect shape throughout the whole couch. I just bought it last summer and paid 41,000. The engine had been just rebuilt and only have 9100 miles on it. Oh for the bedding I use a sleeping bag that I roll up or I put it down and put a sheet over me if it’s hot. I have not found it an inconvenience whatsoever since the convenience of the L-shaped couch with the TV there is what I really enjoy during the day. There’s also a big TV over the table area that you’re able to see throughout the coach. I hardly watch TV but if someone did both TVs are great. I hope that helps your some.
That's the one my family is looking for. Of all the one's we have reviewed its the top of the list. Rear lounge so we can travel with a special needs adult child. Not quite two rooms but roomy. Only one that seems to accommodate 3 adults with zero slides and small enough I can drive or my husband.
Thanks for posting that you’re looking for a 71-year-old. I just retired. I’m 61 this really helped me feel more confident. It would be nice If your mom was on one of your videos telling us how she likes which ever one she chose.
It is so much fun! I have been traveling alone since 2016 (at age 65). The B+ or a smaller C is perfect, and safer (if alone)...simply park and walk from the front seat into the back living area!
Number 6 is so-so, I think 4, the Jayco! Nice all around, good price and adaptable to her needs. The bed: add a nice mattress cover and spread or quilt, cover, tuck it down. Add , folded at foot of bed, comfy blankets, quilts , throws, for warmth at night, and find pillow shams. Stays neat, fold top covers in morning, it works for me! I’m not on the road because of health, but unable to move back and legs well and have pain. Only have limited help, so I love my method with covers, in my efficiency apartment. Hoping you find perfect fit for Gramma! ❤️🙏☺️
Excellent reviews. Appreciate your honesty. I'm 68 yrs old divorced with a little rescue dog, and I'm on the hunt for a class C with NO slides. This was most helpful!! Thank you.
As far as making corner beds, I just use a fitted sheet, that stays in place. Then my top cover (duvet or blanket) I take off and fold it at the end of the bed . Then you’re not struggling to totally “make” the bed and it still looks nice. Much easier
My class C is 26feet and I love it. Since my bed is on a slide if I’m parked at a rest area I just sleep on the couch. The couch was the determining factor for my choice.
I have a friend with a side Murphy bed in the slide and she hates that she cannot use the bed without putting out the slide at rest areas etc Her sofa is too small to nap on. She loves my bedroom because I have no slide and my Q bed is always ready. My dinette slide is now a recliner opposite a table/desk. Great remodel.
I've been searching around to find a class c and this was really helpful actually the first one you showed was my favorite. I thought I had the most storage, and the most convenient to get around. Thank for sharing!
Omg thank you for this video! I'm currently looking for a class c. I've been traveling in a 20 ft Jayco travel trailer for 3 years. I'm 70 yr old and it's been a good trailer but it's also has been a pain a few times. Safety is number one where class c just get behind wheel and drive off. I definitely want a bed you can walk around because getting on knees is extremely painful even on a mattress. I could go on an on very informative video thank you given me some insight. Be careful and safe hope your mother enjoys. From Traveling Great Grandma
Just stumbled onto your channel. You're gonna have to do a video showing us the one that Grandma finally picks. It would be nice to see her looking at the RV, making her final selection.
If the bathroom door clicks into the open position, like I have seen some High Class RVs do it separates your bedroom and bathroom from people who might be going in and out of your RV helping you prepare food. It locks people out of your bedroom and bathroom cuz you don't want them filling up your black tank. It doesn't appear this one clicks into place but it is Believe It or Not a great feature if it does. Also if you camp with your grandchildren the boys might want to be able to lock Grandma out while they take a shower
This was a great description of pros and cons of different Class C RVs. I think the big benefit of the over cab sleep space is strictly for storage, especially if you are going to be on the road a bit.
Ive owned a few shorter class c's and NOT ONE of them was that easy to drive in the wind...something to think about for an older driver. The class b's are going to be better in the wind as long as you dont go after the taller models...plus they are easier to drive and park. PLUS the wider 8'3" width of class c's adds to the driving issues - gotta pay close attention to lane widths...just something to think about and whether grandma is comfortable driving these bigger models. I highly recommend for her - rear and side view cameras. and AZDEL is hands down the best sidewall material on theses rv's. And tho im a fan of Chevy trucks, I prefer Ford chassis on RVs for braking (huge deal and Fords are better)...If any of your selections are on E350 or Chevy 3500 chassis's make sure they have rear stabilizer/sway bars - I truly prefer the E450 ford chassis - beefier suspension...
I had a great E450 van...my 2 miniature Poodles and I traveled all over and had wonderful adventures. That van stood up to every kind of weather, including hurricane blasts near Charleston, SC. Just whetted my appetite for a larger van. Thank you for the great walk-throughs, they really helped 😀!
I read somewhere that you shouldn't make the bed for 30 minutes after getting up to let the sheets "dry out" each morning, but I really like a made bed. We compromised by making the bed in a unique way- we fold the covers and sheets down to the foot of the bed neatly and arrange the pillows and it looks nice, but it lets the sheets dry out.
I am that way with my bed, only I do it to air out, then I try to remember to pull up those covers after about an hour or so, or sometimes just before turning in for the night. 😊
This granny (i am 77) would choose the Jayco, IF money was no object, and apparently that is the case, because of the price range you are comfortable with. And i agree, the convection oven is a necessity.
I did the same thing....but even after I realized it was for the grandma...I was still amazed at how great her skin is....LOL What moisturizer do you use? Yeah that's a weird question...I'm a 55yr old grandma and the last few yrs my skin is starting to show my age....Or maybe it's simply because you get out and go camping...You are stress free LOL
The Thor Quantum looked so nice (They've got a lot of experience between their rental product line, Airstream and buying Tiffin Motorhomes.) There ought be a model with a center bed that would check all the boxes, might have to pay more or be longer length. Interesting that the last Nexus had ducted AC, very posh! One Coachmen model had the trio of plugs over the corner bed but for sure there's a finish problem with what you saw. And the baths are terrible. Nexus is a new brand to me, so they looked glitzy with the full body paint option but I'd like to see used ones and hear more about how they wear.
Winnebago Outlook has a 22 with and without slides. Speaking as a widowed 70 year old, I don’t want to mess with slides. I do like a walk around bed, but those in slides are usually folding. If you stop for a nap on the road, you can’t use it. The best way to keep sheets on those corner mattresses is to use sheet suspender type hooks. A duvet fluffed up over the sheet is all you need for ‘making the bed’. You are camping, not staying in a hotel where you expect to bounce a quarter off the covers.
No corner bed! No slide out folding mattress bed. This is your home. You are not roughing it in a tent. You need to be able to make the bed every day you feel like doing it as it makes the space feel more open and uncluttered. An older woman needs to be able to take a nap on the bed when she feels like it. Even in a Walmart parking lot or a rest area where you are not wanting to put out the slide. 89 years old and you need to have things as easy to handle as possible. I like drivable RVs because of the security for an older woman.
Slides - the very best thing they have added to motor homes ever! Would not buy one without at least one slide, it makes the world of a difference in the feel of the interior!
I would want as many slides as possible as big as possible. The added room is so worth it. I would insist on being able to walk through when slides are in.
@@janevt.5914 I am completely torn about slides. They definitely provide much needed room but so many people talk about them breaking, insulation issues and the tendency to leak. I would love to hear your personal experience with them. Any issues?
I am 71 with a 2002 Class B 190 = 19' Chevy Roadtrek - Popular and I love it.... So much storage - way more counter room... I paid $30,000 it's a great option. This has real wood I keep one side as a couch and the other a small twin bed how much bed room do you need ? After watching what the class C's have and the prices I count my blessings I have what I have.
Thanks for the review. Great observations! After extensive searching We bought a 2020 Coachman Orion last June. The next week we left on a five week 3200mile trip. We have previously owned 2 Class C and 3 Class B RVs, so we noticed all of the same things you pointed out. Since that purchase we have made a few modifications to remedy things we disliked, but overall we are very pleased with our Orion. No slides, great drivability, terrific storage capacity (something you often give up with slides), and it’s more roomy than the B class RVs. Great report for grandma, but just wanted to share how happy we are with Coachman.
I am 72 heading out in May for a trip from Florida to Minnesota in my 2000 Coachmen Class C, going to love it, love the size it is easy to drive. Going to love it.
You guys are AMAZING! Thank you so much for making this video. My husband and I are looking now to buy, and your pros and cons, knowing what to look for and what to avoid. It is like you ‘classify’ the things most important so when when the hubby and I go searching we will be better prepared to make a good purchase. Congrats on the weight loss too. Happy and Healthy Travels!
I truly loved the discussion. After watching Matt’s videos, this filled in a lot of the gaps that you can’t see from just watching an in depth review of a single camper. We always cook in the camper so counter and prep space are on the top of our list. Plus, I must have coffee :) Subscribed, Thanks!
I make the bed because it’s a small unit and if people come to visit, you you don’t want their butts sitting on your sheets, so you make the bed up and there’s another place to sit! it looks more inviting and it just looks nicer in a very small unit..
We have a Thor Freedom Elite, we love it. So far there has been no issues save for a light bulb on the stair way into the motor home. Our time together while out on the road just gets better and better. Another trip is planned soon. Can't wait.
Just from watching this, I liked the two unplanned ones y'all looked at that had the walk around beds in them and I believe they both had porcelain toilets. I'm not fond of the slide outs either, but love the fact they do give you so much more room. So, yea, I'd go with one of those most definitely.
Some how I missed that you all had a this channel and only found it because I have been watching camping videos since hubby is counting down to retirement! Happy to see you all again!!!
How totally insane to pay those sorts of prices! I have a Toyota Mini Cruiser RV in excellent condition with very low miles. I have added many extras and purchased new tires and redid the roof. Recovered upholstery, though it was not necessary, did it to change colour scheme with new fabric from thrift store. Because it was built in Dec. '85, it was not subject to recall. After a good clean/pressure-wash it looks amazing, even the engine is spotless. Insurance is very reasonable. Thuere is a Toyota Mini Cruiser RV club online with many enthusiasts. Granted my RV rarely goes more than 55mph, but who needs to drive fast when 55 saves lives and fuel? Just like cars new RVs depreciate in value. I would consider a used rental RV such as those sold refurbished under the Magnetic name, and only buy one on sale. Other than that, you can't beat Toyota for gas mileage and reliability. Other than a back-up camera it has everything I need, and no credit required! I am a Grammy in my early seventies and it works great for me! One day, I plan to buy a used Airstream or similar to down size and live in, but that too will be done on a shoestring, no need to go into debt, or deal with unscrupulous dealers interested only in ripping off their customers like Camping World! Besides there are so many used RV s for sale by owner, all takes is a little patience to find one that is little used, and we'll loved by someone ready to give up on their traveling days! It is not hard to find a little palace on wheels that does not cost an arm and a leg!
Easy solution for lack of counter...butcher board sink cover. It gives you prep area and it's easy to clean up afterward, then just put it on top of your table when you need the sink.
Never a Jayco. Our first rv was a jayco. We had it two years and it was in the shop more than our camping. It fell apart. One trip out the heater wasn't working right. Took it into the shop and they said we were lucky, it could have exploded. Doors would fall off, the storage doors under the dinette fell off. It was horrible. It was under warranty but they do not stand behind their product at all. We were so frustrated! I contacted jayco directly to see if they would extend their warranty considering all the problems we had. They said no. They offered we purchase another warranty. We traded it in for a Forest River. That was 5 years ago and we have not had a problem since. We love our Forest River. It is never in the shop for repairs.
I’m surprised y’all haven’t thought of simply adding a collapsible shelf extender next to the sink. You can make it as long as you want because it’ll fold down when not in use. I do agree the dual sinks are needed for washing and rinsing. Making a corner bed isn’t all that difficult as you merely start in one rear corner by slightly lifting it, hooking the sheet under and proceed with the others. No special sheets are needed as one simply tucks everything under. I’m not fond of the wrap around bench style dinette. One might be able to alter that to the normal dual side benches and a larger table that fully accommodates the area, which also provides additional meal prepping surface. In the bed area one can easily add a small shelf for phone and CPAP machine. And one lays their clothes out on the bed when getting dressed so no need for another table. As for windows I much prefer the full window slide open style which provides so much more fresh air flow or a full window three pane crank style. 🚌
We have the fold down shelf next to the sink in our trailer and love it. We don’t care about getting lots of fresh air because we’re in south Florida and 90% of the time the windows will be closed with the a/c running
Best comments ever. I have owned at least 15 motor homes different brands. Sizes, etc. Suggest you check out Lazy Daze. Pomona, Calif. You will be amazed with quality. Great video, thank you.
@@2KrazyKampers - I’ve been in central Florida area but still enjoy opening windows for fresh air flow whenever humidity is at a low. Plus I’m tucked under a large oak tree providing I’d imagine a 10* cooler temp. 🌳
I have made my bed this way every morning since Junior High: 😉 While still in bed, I grab & align the top edges of the sheet/covers, then flip them up/down to air them & get them straightened out, then pull them back up as if I am covering up for sleep. [Repeat if needed.] Once they are smoothed out, I lift the corner back a little & slide out, laying the corner back in place once I've exited. Done.😉
We chose an older model Winnie View V because of the twin beds that are easy to get in and out and the cross breeze with the windows on both sides. Not necessary to let the one short slide and still roomy.
This is my first time on your channel, and I enjoyed the fact that you feel the obligation to look for your Mom. I am 69 yrs old and have a 30 ft Forest River. Class C. I really feel your Mom would like a B+ RV. Remember. Once you get to your camp site. That’s it. You don’t have another vehicle to go to the store or go see tourist sites. But in a Class B+. It’s a little larger than a van, so you can maneuver to drive and park it much easier. And has room to sleep, cook and move around.
I have a B+ and love it! I have driven 40,000+ miles...very portable and manageable. I also am 69 yrs old :) I have a 2006, with the jackknife sofa (makes into a short bed) and dinette (also a short bed). Works okay for me because I am 5'3", but not for my 6' son. Also, it does not have the cabover sleeping arrangement, which would be great for the grandkids. Also, the shorter length allows you to camp at all campgrounds, where many do not allow the longer lengths.
Having owned two 24 ft class C's, I wouldn't want any of these. I've had the dinette in a small slide, and now I have a jackknife sofa with no slide that can sleep an adult. For something that small the dinette's are a waste. The size of the sleeping area is only good for small children. What are you going to do when you're not ready for bed, but you'd like to relax and maybe watch TV. Your going to have to sit at that uncomfortable dinette. You'd be better served with a nice sofa or theater seating and a lagun swivel table, or you could have a couple of wood folding TV tables which you can store under the bed when not using. And we're 64 years old.
I agree with some of the other folks who commented, a couch where you can relax is preferable to a dinette. Some couches have tables that can be in front of the couch, making an eating area, but we only eat for a small part of the day. Having a place to read or watch a movie comfortably at night is important. Also, crawling into bed every night isn’t fun for older people like me. If you are on aspirin, you get bruises on your legs.
I always make my bed! Those Coachman motorhomes were awful. The Nexus are nice and the Jayco was also nice. My Mom and Dad had a Coachman Catalina Class C that was really nice, it's disappointing how bad they are now. The first Nexus you looked at was my favorite. Just be sure to let your Mom look at it and drive it before buying so she will know which one she'll be comfortable with. I will have to say that Entegra also makes some really nice units so look at some of them too. My Dad drove his until he was 93 and was a good driver and always talked about how good his drove.
Not going to lie, was super impressed with how quickly Matt pulled those RV's out his magical hat. If I was American instead of a crazy Canuk that would be enough for me to give him a call. lol. Nice video. Thanks
The one that is easy to drive and park . I had no Idea the show prices were so great . That sounds like the very best way to buy a class C . I would have to get a list of all the shows .
You are looking at the low end unit on Coachmen. Actually they use Azdel walls and construction is good on the mid and upper lines. My favorite is the Sunseeker line by Coachmen.. Especially the 3110 with the long kitchen countertop and drawers/cabinets to make cooking great. It also checks off all the boxes for an older woman.
Regarding cup holders, you can find some on Amazon (no affiliation) that are sticky on the bottom but removable many times over. The stickiness can be renewed by just washing off.
Over hangs do not create blind spot. They help you by blocking sun in your eyes. They also help u drive in parking situation. Microwave over the head is dangerous.
You know y’all aren’t even looking at the outside storage. you need to make sure grandma can plug that sucker it, hook up the sewer line, the water hook ups the whole 9 yards.
Sandra Westley from the UK goodness me I could easily manage in this and I an 76 no problem, excellent room, she will probable get out of bed on the easy side.
Yes when I downsized from my 37’ Bounder to my 28’ Monaco TREK, I looked at the basement storage to envision my stuff in each compartment. I also looked at the dump bay to know that I could hook up and dump without help. I also was glad it was a 30 amp unit as the 50 amp cord is too heavy to manage unless on a reel. I made sure I had a shower I could safely use, a large bathroom sink and I have two medicine cabinets. In the kitchen I envisioned my cooking space. Knew I did not want an oven because the drawer space Is more important. I got a countertop oven. Plan on space for all your dishes, containers, silverware, utensils, pots and pans, pantry storage and dishtowels. Even after all this, it was miserable for the first few months as I fixed all the things that were hard to do or things to be added. Finally it felt like a home again but each continuing upgrade makes it more enjoyable. No difference than a stick and bricks, always something to do.
I'm wary of the Jayco brand from some past videos of a few owners complaining of the cheaply made materials inside the unit. In 2023, if quality control is better, this could be a possibility to buy
Thank you for the video, you both are awesome!! Have you ever looked at the Thor Gemini 23TW All Wheel Drive model with the Ford Transit chasis,?, please do so. I think is the best in terms of size, space, features, convenience, maneuver, option of color inside, you have electric outlets and USB ports on the bed etc.
While cramped, crowded RV's are great for some people, they don't do it for me.. I prefer to be able to walk into a dry bath that feels like a residential shower, with a spacious front area that can be transformed from an office setting to a living room with an open kitchen that retracts when not in use and then a spacious bedroom that I can walk around in, which is why; I have decided to design and build my own conversion camper van..
Wow she is a beautiful and youthful grandma. I just retired and turned 60, And I’m looking for something not too big. Retired Firefighter, and have driven every fire truck. Just want a B+ or smaller b or b+. Happy camping♥️
Found your channel, I met both of you at Mats meet & greet in Tijuana flats in Tampa, was stand with both of you.in the rain under the umbrella. Great video , also looking at the same RV's for myself
Ok, I must say...I love you guys. I'm looking for a small Class C and this video was soooooo helpful. Very informative. I have subscribed. Now I'm about to stalk your page to watch all your videos. Thank you for the work you put into this video.
I like the Coachman 22xg. Easy to get in. Has a tv hookup outside. No cabinets over the bed. Easy lift Murphy, which with most Murphy beds you can leave bedding on and still pop it up. Being an older woman I doubt your mom will be putting the bed up and down a lot anyway. I use a rv super bag which has made bed making wonderful. I had a class c, now a b. Love it’s ease. Thinking of the Coachman so I can do trips with grandkids. We camp a lot together nowadays. But the b is wonderful for even a short drive. I have my toilet, fridge, bed and can park it like a car.
For the tip out get a round closet rod mark on the rod mark how far the tip out comes out make a mark so she can use it to see how far away she needs to be before she pulls in! Then lay the rod on the ground so she has a guide to back her up.
Hmmmm...I love love the one with the bed that rises. Just so much storage potential. I have bike my husband has motorized scooter. All those windows around the bed. Must have convention, and that shower curtain that rolls. .... And I'm a g'ma almost 64.
Thanks for GREAT share and video! Appreciate honest views, and being same age as Grandma... looking fpr a smaller RV again, sold my Class C last year, but as you point out, Class B's are so pricey :( Did not know the smaller Class C's you showed are so much more affordable... Will have to check back and see what Grandma gets! Cheers from the other corner, PNW :)
Just watched this video on UA-cam. Enjoyed it and learned more about what to look for when I replace my 29' Winnebago Class "B+" (just sold). However, could have used more information on each one about solar, generator/power, truck driving issues, heat, access to roof, etc. Even though I'm 70 I'll still be alone managing those issues and those are more important to my decision-making than the cosmetics of the space. Thinking I'll be looking for more of a class B than these units. Appreciate you guys and will be looking for a video from you for that.
This one is looking better. Like that overhead, no bumping your head getting in the cab. at 60K not bad. Have never liked those corner beds. The bath is nice.
Great video touring different class C's. We're looking right now. Somewhat similar needs to grandma. But I WiLL take a slide to have a walk-around bed! That is a must! We also need something < 26 ft. to fit in or postage-stamp sized yard's driveway. Husband wants the E450 Ford chassis with the Godzilla engine. Right now, our favorite is the Jayco Redhawk SE CF. They come with leveling jacks and solar! I'm thinking we could upgrade the plastic toilet. Thanks for making this video :) New to the channel.
I am seriously considering a drivable tiny home. I am also 71 and do use a cpap, your videos are amazing and I too will not consider a Coachmen. Loved most of the others with no sleeper overhang. The bathroom and shower and toilet tissue are a biggy, got to have porcelain toilet. I like your ideas and I agree with all of them. I lived on the road as an otr semi driver, so I have an idea of the benefits of a home away from home.
I luv the Thor Quantum SE22 as it has more functionality except for the small kitchen sink. And the large over cab bed area is great for temporary extra storage. Your mom could opt to purchase a larger size DeLonghi convection oven with rotisserie that can actually accommodate a 10 lb turkey. I’ve one which I sit on top of a large plexiglass cutting board and place on top of the stovetop whenever I want to use it. I guess y’all don’t realize that tempered glass cutting boards actually fit across the kitchen and bathroom sinks providing flat surface areas for prepping, etc. 🚌
Great video touring the units. I have thought about different types but when all was said and done I decided on a Toyota RAV4 to use as a mobile bedroom because the outside world is my home. I never liked the idea that I looked like a camper and am forced to pay for spending the night. If I chose its one thing but if I am forced its another! Love your channel!
I use campgrounds for two weeks and then boondock for a week. I could boondock all the time but do not have to as I am a Thousand Trails member. I would love a Class B camper van but at my age I need a little more space comfort for my body and also the desk area that I really enjoy having.
The N/S bed works for you, as you’ve climbed on your knees to get in….like a 40 year old not a 70ish person As. Senior with bad knees… that doesn’t work …. Next time wrap you knee (so it doesn’t bend much) then try getting in the N/S bed…
I would try to find a well cared for used Leisure Unity. If you’ve never checked out the quality and luxury of a Leisure Class C, you’re missing out. It may not have as much room as some of the ones you looked at the show, but considering you were thinking about putting her in one of those tiny travel trailers, they are massive in comparison.
I am a 69 yr old Grandma, and out of all of the class C , I choose the Jayco Redhawk!! It is my dream! You can make a separate shelf for the kitchen, set up the Coffeemaker on the table, or Slow cooker etc! I love this rig!!
Yay! I want a Jayco Redhawk!
Did it come with the solar panel? Can it power your coffee pot and crockpot when you're not plugged in?
Older woman here - forget a slide!!! Too much potential for problems. No corner bed!! Older knees don't like climbing in & out!
Agreed...just another thing to break down and need fixing...
I think from what I seen you look at I think thee Redhawks was about the best one for her for a trailer love johhn
I love my class c and I am 76. I have traveled everywhere and had so much fun for 5 years. My grown kids had a fit when I bought it and I told them to leave me alone.
Lol !! Good for you ! Do you have your own chanel? Would like to hear your stories.
Some of the most important things for older women was never looked at. As an older woman myself, we must look at features that aid us when our mobility declines.
1. Auto levelors and auto stabilizers
You guys are fun though to watch... enjoy!
I would add also that having cabinets above those rear beds is not good. You have to crawl on the bed to access. Not easy or comfortable as we age.
Thank you. We actually did look at most of those things (except the steps). We eliminated the walk around of the outside to shorten the video and also because they were pretty much the same on every one we looked at.
great point
totally agree....
yes I agree! I would add every one of those items to my previous post on what an older person needs.
Thank you so much ! I am a 70 year old widow and your expertise and knowledge have given me inspiration.
You two are just awesome. Grandma is blessed to have you both.
Older woman here planning to get an RV and travel Solo with dogs. This is the most helpful and informative video I’ve seen. 😊😊😊😊😊
Excellent reviews. Appreciate your honesty. I'm 68 yrs old divorced with a little rescue dog, and I'm on the hunt for a class C with NO slides. This was most helpful!! Thank you.
"I can actually see if my fly is zipped." LOL! Best line of the show.
As far as making corner beds, I just use a fitted sheet, that stays in place. Then my top cover (duvet or blanket) I take off and fold it at the end of the bed . Then you’re not struggling to totally “make” the bed and it still looks nice. Much easier
First one blows all of them away! The bed, bathroom, double sink, and the price! It's a winner!
No! not good for an older woman
What is a balloon hat?
My class C is 26feet and I love it. Since my bed is on a slide if I’m parked at a rest area I just sleep on the couch. The couch was the determining factor for my choice.
What do you have?
I have a friend with a side Murphy bed in the slide and she hates that she cannot use the bed without putting out the slide at rest areas etc
Her sofa is too small to nap on.
I clicked by accident too, and then I got drawn in and now I must know which one Mom likes. Great job.
Hubs and I have surmised she doesn't actually exist...great plot point though! ;)
@@CynthiaFrawleyit's like they killed her and are going on a cross-country spending spree with her money. What terrible kids these days!
We use a fitted sheet to cover the mattress and then use a duvet because it’s so easy to straighten up.
I’m a 69 year old grandmother and our 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer QW is perfect for us. It’s such a blessing!
New to channel!
I’m 70 will be 71 soon and I have a 2011 Pleasure-Way. Class B Ford E-350
Love it with my two poodles.

My mother used to "make the bed" that way.
She would have been 110 this year...
@Mori Jin Your perspiration- most of us sweat a little or a lot at night.
My mother told me the same thing but she had her beds all made by 9 am.
@morijin6903that's what I was thinking 😊😊😊😊😊
At the beginning of this video I thought you were talking about the class c for yourself and thinking , man you look good for 71 years old
I did the same thing....but even after I realized it was for the grandma...I was still amazed at how great her skin is....LOL What moisturizer do you use? Yeah that's a weird question...I'm a 55yr old grandma and the last few yrs my skin is starting to show my age....Or maybe it's simply because you get out and go camping...You are stress free LOL
Me too.
@@thedenos40 that’s his wife. Grandma is her mom, she wasn’t in the video.
Custom zip bedding. One piece. Easy to get on. No issues. I am starting to make custom versions. Perfect for these class c with fold up beds.
I agree 100%, it makes all the difference in the world, even though now it’s just the two of us, no kids, no dogs!
This has real wood I keep one side as a couch and the other a small twin bed
how much bed room do you need ? After watching what the class C's have and the prices I count my blessings
I have what I have.
Ya’ll did a FANTASTIC job showing these campers/rvs! And adding the prices really helps!
Love how you gave the price and compared the campers. So much more room and cheaper than the B. I think the B have gotten way too pricey. Thanks
The B are ridiculous
I like the hang over on the class C especially when it rains.
You guys were so thorough, this was really nice. Hope your mom can find one she likes. Great job!
Great review! I am also looking for a small no slide Class C, so thank you for highlighting those rigs.
Me too
If your mom watches this let us know which one/ones she likes best.
I’ve watched it and it’s hard to decide..👋🏼💖
I'm 74 and I agree with your picks.
... if you still can move and travel this is perfect as ports remain closed ...
As for windows
I much prefer the full window slide open style which provides so much more fresh air flow or a full window three pane crank style.

Mom could just do a Beddy sheet and blanket zipped set. I love mine and you just into make the bed!
I have made my bed this way every morning since Junior High: 😉
While still in bed, I grab & align the top edges of the sheet/covers, then flip them up/down to air them & get them straightened out, then pull them back up as if I am covering up for sleep. [Repeat if needed.]
Once they are smoothed out, I lift the corner back a little & slide out, laying the corner back in place once I've exited.
Done.😉
I totally love the first one❤
I love you two, so much info. detail and fun to watch you interact, great work on this. I feel much more informed and had a great time watching this!
I am 70 years and retired. Thank you for this video. I am seriously thinking about getting a Class C and this was really informative.
My late hubby and I ALWAYS made the bed in the morning and taught all 3 of our kids to do the same since they were pre-schoolers!!! I STILL DO!!! ;)
We chose an older model Winnie View V because of the twin beds that are easy to get in and out and the cross breeze with the windows on both sides. Not necessary to let the one short slide and still roomy.
🥰
I think out of all of the ones you showed. I like the Thor the best.
Good video. You called attention to both pros and cons I didn’t automatically see. I like you guys. Upbeat yet practical.
Thank you both for your honesty.......Keep up the great job!
This Great Grandma really wants a Class C...I've been looking. You have inspired me!
Great recommendations.
Too bad they aren't making the Itasca Reyo or Winnebago Via anymore. They beat all of these.
I’ve been subscribed to your keto channel for a little while and was looking at RVs and found you here! Serendipity!
That was so much fun! I'm always up for the tours. Great detailed conversation too.
Just jumped on here. I know Im a little late to the party. Amazing. Thanks for your honest opinions. This was super helpful!
Thank you for these reviews from a “lovely retired 65 year old woman”.😎
I'm 72 and looking forward to me getting a rv. Thanks for the good information..
So sweet to see a brother and sister so close buying mom something so nice. Me and my sister are besties also! Yes 👐👫
Loving Matt. Too funny. I’m glad you mentioned the CPAP because I would have to have that as well.
You know y’all aren’t even looking at the outside storage. you need to make sure grandma can plug that sucker it, hook up the sewer line, the water hook ups the whole 9 yards.
It would be great if we knew if there is a backup camera and sensors all around for Grandma too.

Loved your video!! So honest and helpful!!
I have my toilet, fridge, bed and can park it like a car.
thank you
I’m 67 and have a refurbished Cruise America 20’ class c. Love it. Very affordable.
Connection gahhhhh auto correct
Convention convection convection.... Oven
But I
WiLL take a slide to have a walk-around bed!
You went over all the things we need to consider in a tiny home.
Love the first one, the Triumph. Good luck, hope she likes it.
I can feel you guys love for eachother through this video😊
Great Video!! This helped me out a lot
The N/S bed works for you, as you’ve climbed on your knees to get in….like a 40 year old not a 70ish person
As.
