Letting this run on repeat so more people get recommended this incredible film. Congrats on not only seeing through a marathon of a creative project, but for making something that is so deeply moving. I would consider this the best "sports" doc of the year. Proud to be a friend!
To drop this quality level of doc on UA-cam for free is... incredible. So much of this was breathtaking both in content and cinematography. Thank you and congratulations.
This documentary is one of the best things I’ve seen in 2024. It’s about life, it’s about becoming, family, and… running. It shows how everything is interconnected. It makes you cry; it inspires you. Thank you.
I had no idea what to expect. But for someone like myself who’s an amateur photographer, marathoner and soon to be father this is exactly what I needed in my life right now. Thank you Joe for sharing your story and Eric for executing the vision & story telling.
My dad never knew his own dad until he was 40, and only had half siblings growing up in a house literally made of clay. He stepped into fatherhood like Joe knowing exactly what not to do, and now me being 33 and knowing a loving, caring, and present father, this beautiful documentary has shown me that Joe’s son is going to have an incredible role model in his dad. Incredible work on the documentary, and thank you for sharing your story Joe. There are a lot of people out there like you and your son ☺️.
As the saying goes, "I may not come from a great family but a great family will come from me". Inspired by your courage (not confidence) to attack scary goals and overcome decades of challenges, Joe. And of course, Floberg strikes again with the magic of story-telling. So impressive.
Just finished watching this with my newborn in my arms. Since becoming a father, I’m even more grateful for my love of running. Thank you for sharing this inspiring journey 💙👏🏾
I could’ve watched this for hours longer. What an incredible documentary. Thank you so much Joe for being willing to share your incredible story. Thank you to all your friends and those who chose to be closer to you. I want you to know that YOU’RE HEARD, YOU MATTER, YOU ARE WORTH, YOU ARE SEEN AND, YOU ARE LOVED. Thank you 🙏🏾
Truly beautiful segment from Mathias Barker at 56:30 about forgiveness ♥️. The entire film was stunning and loved learned more about Joe's story. Thank you 💙
I've heard the story in bits of pieces on podcasts, but having it all put together like this with stunning visuals is just something else man. It truly deserves recognition and praise, such a beautiful story, that's so well told 😊 Definitely gonna need to give something back for watching this, it being available for free is wild.
I don't know how my partner and I ended up finding this documentary, started it because it was so beautifully filmed... and finished it because it was so deeply moving. What a powerful and beautifully narrated story... here's to hoping many more sees it, I think this will inspire and bring hope to many. Thank you for sharing this gem on UA-cam so everyone can enjoy it 💙
This has been one of, if not the, best thing I have watched on UA-cam this year. What an inspiring, excellently produced documentary. In awe of Joes story, the power of forgiveness, and how impactful running can be for us all.
Absolutely incredible. What a moving and inspiring film. I thought this was going to be solely about running but it was so much more. Joe - you've been through so much in your life. Thanks for sharing your tragic yet powerful story. It's so wonderful to see you with a family of your own now with Maddie and Oliver. Hold them close! You're going to be a really great father.
like, woh. This doc ran a 1:20 marathon on its first try. In all seriousness, it was rad. Very touching. Kudos to Joe and family for allowing us to be a part of your life. You're enough, Joe.
Absolutely incredible on so many levels. I have been a huge fan of Joe's work for many years, but I admittedly didn't know much about the man behind the lens. This documentary was deeply moving, incredibly heartfelt, aesthetically brilliant, and just so damn entertaining. I am beyond grateful to be able to watch this for free, and thankful to all involved. Also, it goes without saying but sub 2:40 is just.. unreal. Cheers to Joe, to his achievements, to his beautiful family, his incredible body of work, and to his 2:30 goal! I wish the Greer family nothing but good things in '25 and beyond.
One of the best documentaries I've ever seen, as a runner and creative, this inspired me so much, and the way it was shot and filmed and edited was amazing, out of this world. Can't wait to see more of your work and thank you Joe Greer for telling your story. Much love and God Bless!
Today I finally got the chance to sit down and watch this beautiful doc. I've been waiting what feels like forever to watch it after listening to Eric and Steven talk about it on Rally Caps for so long. I was upset that I had a busy couple weeks of college finals until I could watch it, because I wanted to give it the full love and respect it deserved, but man the wait was worth it because wow... I didn't expect to cry and watch a story that felt so similar to my own. Thank you Joe for sharing your story and thank you to everyone who helped create such a beautiful doc💙
A showcase of things i really love. being a father, photography and running. This film somehow helped me heal my inner issues as well. Thanks for putting this together and thanks to Joe for opening up. What a beautiful and incredible documentary. Much love from the Philippines. ❤❤❤
This was absolutely beautiful! I thought I was just watching a film to motivate me to run faster, but it really hit home how important it is to be a strong and loving father. Thank you.
Thank you guys for making this available here. Thank you for making this and bringing this story to life. Hearing joes story inspires me in ways I never thought possible and I wish him and his family nothing but the best now and in the future. Congrats on being a dad, it’s the best feeling in the world.
Heartbreaking, heartwarming, grounding, inspirational, tough. This story had so much of all of those things and even more. Joe, thank you for sharing with us. Thank you for being so vulnerable. Thank you for pushing forward and showing us that with so many ‘lows’ in life, there is always an opportunity to bring yourself back up. Thank you to Floberg and his crew for this documentary - well freaking done
This film has inspired me to run, be a living example for my daughter and train purposefully again. 16 years ago I ran a 3:38 marathon. Now at age 44, I am going to attempt to go sub 3:30 at the charlotte marathon in nov 2025. I want my 2 year old daughter to learn that age is NOT a limiting factor. Thank you for making this film.
Absolutely incredible story & documentary! I haven't cried that hard in a while. This makes me excited to spend the day with my kids tomorrow and give it all I've got. Thanks for being open and willing to share your story Joe!
I was at the screening in New York and got a chance to talk to Joe. At first I thought it started out slow but then it picked radically, and in the end it built such a profound connection between my own life’s struggles and what Joe was going through. This movie was less about the photography - which is how I primarily know Joe,- but about facing the demons in his head. And finding people who he loves.
Finally took the time to watch this beautiful documentary, and wow-it moved me deeply, not just as a runner but as a human being. The themes of chasing goals, family trauma, and forgiveness are so profoundly explored here. On this day, December 30, 2024, those themes resonate with me in a way no other day of the year could have. Thank you, Joe, for sharing your journey and reminding us of the strength it takes to keep running-not just on the track, but through the complexities of life itself. Truly inspiring.
As a former street photographer [ London 2014 - 2019 ] and now trying my hand at landscape work [ PNW, US 2024 - ] I've never looked at past or present photographers so didn't know who Joe was. I've had a habit of being too influenced by others in my other artistic endeavors (acting/music/art) to such a degree that I struggle to find my own voice. So I was thrilled that my new running obsession bubbled this amazing documentary to the top of my suggested list not only to find Joe's work which is wonderful, but also be inspired to get out on the tarmac and trails to find space clarity. Such a Beautiful story. Thank you all for creating such wonderful art.
That was beautiful to watch. It gave me so much more respect forJoe as a human being, hisr photography, his running career and family. I could relate. It makes me understand he deserves all the praise he gets and how the efforts and success come from struggle and not what I painfully admittedly used to assume, from a probably almost perfect life, before where he got to be now. Makes him a massive inspiration for me and not just as an artist. Which is extremely rare for me to say. Not that my opinion matters much, but anyways thanks Joe for sharing so much, being transparent and vulnerable and giving me a new important lesson in life. I’m a traveler, photographer, long distance/thru hiker and did a 50k ultramarathon as my first ever run in 2021 (a few months before getting diagnosed with a major hip bone disease) and will one day teach architecture which Is what studied. This gives me more inspiration on making my first photography book soon and running again after I finally get my hip replacement done. But most of all, more motivation to solve or better deal with my own past family issues and successfully forming a new family one day. Thanks for this
Incredible doc. I’ve followed Joe for around 10 years. He’s been a huge inspiration to me throughout that time. And while this is a moving story about him, this is also a story about you guys making the film. I’ve followed along with the process for a while, it’s awesome to see the finished film 🫶🏻
So proud of you man. This is a truly inspiring piece as a fellow runner, creative and aspiring father. It’s incredible to see you work hard to be a better runner, man, and father. Congrats on fatherhood and crushing your goals man, truly inspiring 🤘🏻
Everything about this documentary was incredible! The story, the pacing, the music, and the cinematography was amazing! Incredible job Eric, Steven, Gene, and the entire team! Thanks for sharing your story Joe! 🔥 Shoutout to the legend Ryan Booth as well!
INCREDIBLE film! Thank you for sharing your life and your art with us, Joe. Thank you for a fantastic piece, Eric. Made a donation and will spread the word about how good this is.
Eric, thanks a lot to give this film accessible to everyone. You rock man, and you are, both of you, a real inspiration. I will attempt the sub 3 next year thanks to you Eric.
I watched this doc over two days while I was on the treadmill. I was both moved and motivated. I was out of town during the Chicago premiere, so I’m very grateful it was made available here. Excellent film! I hope it gets more exposure and recognition!
I know Joe from photography, as an analog shooter myself. The last few years it’s taken a backseat with the introduction of my two boys but I have become a trail runner working my way up to 100 mile ultras. To see Joe from a different angle is really cool and I feel like I understand him more. He also loves Jazz! What a stunning video! ✌🏼from the UK.
I was raised by my great grandparents in a small town in chickasha, Oklahoma. My parents divorced when I was 3, my mom and my dad both left us there until I was in 5th grade when my mom came back and took myself and my 2 sisters. My grand parents would eventually pass away, then my sister, then my biological father (whom I never had a relationship with), and now my other sister is estranged from my my mom and I. She has severe mental issues and we haven't spoken in years. My mother too, was awarded a large sum of money for my sisters death but she squandered it away. Thank you for sharing your story Joe. You enable others to share theirs. Others, such as myself that are ashamed to admit it, and no longer wish to feel weak or taken advantage of by their own trauma. It's not our faults but God wrote it this way and such as you I was blessed with a loving wife and new family and now have 2 children of my own. I would never imagined my life would have brought me this much joy, compassion, empathy, love that my grandmother once showed to me. She is up there now crying tears of joy and I thank her and I thank God and I thank you for helping me heal as well. My father in law once said to me "maybe you should be grateful for the man your father didn't raise you to be" and though I miss the relationship we might have had I am blessed to be whom I am without him.
Amazing film. Thank you all so much for making it possible. Joes story resonates with me deeply, we run for a lot of the same reasons. Amazing work by everyone involved
Love that running is just the backdrop for his life. I'm not as fast or cool, but I relate to Joe in many ways. Especially in his desire to be a good father...
absolutely stunning, I'm so glad on of your instagram collaborative post was recommended to me so i could see that master piece of yours, great job to you and your team What a story, I did NOT expect it to go that way and that indepth in Joe's life, I'm grateful that he shared such an intimate part with everyone, this is truly an honour. What a guy. Everyone in this cast is deeply touching, the love can be felt through the screen, from every being, it's incredble, god. Blessings to all of you, thank you so so much for this
I thought this was going to just be running, wasn’t prepared to take such an emotional journey. As someone who has certain feelings about both his biological father and his stepfather, this meant a lot. Thank you!
I am here because of seeing the shorts of relative race when he met his dad and sisters, I tried a few times to see the full season that he was in but unfortunately i could not find it. I typed in his name again today and just watched this documentary. I am so happy that he now has a full life with a beautiful wife and baby. May God heal him of every trauma of the past that even when he remembers it there will be no pain attached to it. Regards from South Africa.
amazing and thanks all of you to share this beauty. @ioegreer you have had me crying with emotion throughout the entire documentary, I know how hard it is to live without a father and you have suffered much more than that. I am very happy that you have been so brave and have worked hard to overcome all your challenges, now new challenges with your wonderful baby and wife. I wish you all the best, you deserve it. Big hug from Canary Island
Been waiting for this documentary to come out since you talked about it. Worth every second. Amazing work, really moving and inspiring. Thanks guys and congrats ❤
I have only followed Joe on instagram for about a year - and I clicked into this video thinking I knew what this film would show. Was I wrong - the depth of this story moved me in so many ways. Kudos to you Floberg & Joe. Take a bow.
One of the most inspiring documentaries a human being could ever watch....absolutely beautiful and powerful storytelling with an incredibly deep healing final act. Stellar work team
oh my god i found myself in tears so many times. what an incredible story. love to Joe and his family, and congrats to the production team for creating such a moving piece.
i lost my father when i was 6, mom was strong and raised me as good as she can, now i thank god for her, dude im craying so hard watching this, you are so though man i wish to meet you one day and share a run as i shared some emotions with you
What a wonderfully shot and told story. Thank you Joe for opening up your life to us all. Thank you Eric and everyone involved in the making of this film!

Unreal brother. Dont even have the words to write how thoughtful, emotional and beautiful this film was. What an incredible piece of art you and the crew have produced. Congrats!!

Wow! What a great film. I cried, I laughed and most of all, I truly understood everything this man went through. @ericfloberg, you hit a home run, a grand slam! ❤thank you.
This film beautifully shot and the story is so inspirational. Thank you all for your hard work on this! You all have given a deeply moving gift to anyone who watches it!
I am soo excited to sit down and watch this!! Joe Greer is such a legend. The way he captures life is so admirable. One of the most talented photographers in the world! Very happy this was created!
this story and the story-telling... amazing. thank you to joe for being vulnerable and thank you to everyone on production for the work they did! incredible work
I was holding myself back to watch this one before last Sunday which was incredibly tough. But I knew it’s gonna inspire and motivate me for my first marathon I ran that day - and it absolutely did. I wasn’t sure if fighting with tears before the marathon is helpful but this video was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for this quality content ❤️
Loved the sense of place, pacing, balance of interviews, footage & photographs, as well as the overarching message about family. Well worth multiple watches.
That was beautiful. Beautifully filmed, a story beautifully told. I’ve been excited to watch this for a while now, and kudos to the whole team involved.
The way this film had me all in the feels! Wonderful job fellas and thank you for bringing Joe's story to us! This is amazing and hope to see more projects like this.
Just got done watching the whole thing. I’ve admired Joe’s photography for years, but getting to learn more about him as a person is so cool. Congrats on the sick documentary! And congrats Joe on hitting your goals!
Glad to have you back. Parenting will leave you shellshocked and it really helps sharing your shitty nights, tantrums at the supermarket and all the other “what the f moments” with other parents. No one walks away unscathed from parenting 😀
Beautifully made, inspiring, thought-provoking film. It prompted a lot of discussion at our dinner table. Congratulations to all involved in it. Great work
exceptional work by everyone involved - most importantly, joe, for sharing his story with the audience and letting us all in on his personal journey. loved it!

Great work
