Here's a not so fun fact: this really wonderful movie still isn't available to buy on Blu-ray, instead it's stuck on Netflix which means that we can't see or hear it as originally intended due to heavy streaming compression. It's a crying shame.
I actually did get to see this film in theaters before it was released on Netflix. It was a fucking awesome experience, but I have no idea of knowing how they were projecting it
Honestly, this reminds me of the great shame of experiencing a great story. A lot of these little details just seem so intuitive and natural within the story that they're often unnoticed and people forget these are deliberate and thought out decisions.
Klaus has legitimately become a holiday tradition for me. I look forward to watching it these last few years and years in the future. I remember when the first test footage short came out and how blown away I was by the art and animation. It was one of the main reasons I went to Lightbox in 2019 to see James Baxter talk about the project. Absolutely monumental film and I'm so glad you all are still making videos about it, this was wonderful.
I am so grateful that over the years you keep on sharing videos about this amazing animated movie. There is so much to learn and so much to tell about it. So thanks so much for sharing the behind the scenes, the making offs, facts and more, as young creators there is so much interesting information. Klaus is one of the only movies I know that shares so much about its production and values every team members work so much!
Watching Klaus has become a winter tradition. One of the most beautifully underrated animated films. Every frame is a masterpiece in itself and I've done several art studies using the backgrounds as inspiration. ❤
I absolutely LOVE this movie! The story, the animation, and most importantly the style! It's still one of the greatest films I've seen in recent years ❤
I've been obsessed and in love with this movie since the very first time I saw it. Is now a tradition for me and my brothers to watch it every Christmas, and now, with these little hidden details I love it even more. What a beautiful way to tell a story, I love animated films for this very reason, it is so so planned, every little detail has been planned. Everything is made with a special love. Nothing better than hear these things for a person that obviously loves what he does. Thank you for giving us Klaus, for remind us that kindess is indeed part of human nature. ❤️
The point about lighting is a great example of how this movie would go outside the box! Most movies would use some dreary colors in a scene like that, to tell the audience "you should feel bad." But using a bright color to reflect Jesper's state of mind made the scene way more interesting for me!
I have been following SPA studio even before knowing Klaus was on tracks and when the movie came out, I was blown away. Your team is such an inspiration and all of those tiny details just prove even more the talent behind Klaus realisation.
I did catch the repeat of Jesper's lament at the end. I thought it made a strong anthem for his character growth. And I adored Margu. I looked up a translation of all the Sami lines. That line on the dock was hilarious. I hope you got the Sami to vet those costumes. they looked more like "traditional" clothes for tourist events than casual clothes regular people might wear at home.
i noticed the last one on my own while hyperfixating on this movie bc i watched it like 8 times within a week and was analyzing every tiny detail and i started bawling my eyes out as soon as i realized the parallel LMAO
A One Thirteen dream team player in the building 🙌🏾 For the last 3 years watching KLAUS is the family Xmas tradition to watch and drink cup of coco every year like when I was a kid growing up watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town 😊 Thank you for adding on and taking it to a level that is truly magical. We need you!
I was so excited to see this upload! I absolutely adore this movie and it truly is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies now(or a movie for anytime of year). I loved seeing all these little details and can’t wait to look for them the next time I watch!
It's a gem of a movie, wonderful and masterfully crafted, and this little extra look into the intentions behind everything is so heartfelt! Very much time for another watch over the holidays!
Wow, 3 years already! Happy anniversary and thank you for sharing! These details gave me an even greater appreciation of the film. Can't wait to see the next SPA Studios project!
Thanks for making this!the way you did the lighting is fascinating, I also think you were able to pass the intent and feeling of the wind and such really well! I’m looking forward to seeing what more will come out!

I wish I could buy a physical copy so I could watch it in all its glory even when I (temporarily) cancel my Netflix subscription😢
@@M_JackOfAllTrades I feel especially bad, because I legit have one of the world's only copies of Klaus on Blu-ray. I am actually serious.
I'm hoping Netflix just collapses one day, so we might finally get a theatrical and blu ray release.
@@AnAmericanMusicianif that happens it might become like persona 4 the animation where the only way to watch it is by pirating

Also, the origin behind Jesper's bedtime routine with his kids is so sweet! 😭

So it's like Lydia's spirit was getting Jesper to help Klaus snap out of his depression even if Jesper's initial intentions were selfish.
what if it was Lydia's true selfless act to spark the others

Fun fact: I've watched the movie for the very first time two months ago, because I've decided to learn animation. And yes! It's remarkable!
3 years of watching Klaus - already a christmas tradition 🎄 thank you for this classic 🙏
Fun. This is a phenomanel film and it's fun to learn more about its production.
Thank You so much for making this film! A fresh take on an old story❤
