this is such wonderful production. the very natural flow, how they utilized such narrow angles but not too narrow that you still feel like in the same space with them and not feel confined. the very organic shake, the colors, the set, i love it!
Your videos have greater depth than most of the ones I watch. I feel I know Gabie better than before even though I watch her channel and well as her husband's channels. If you are trying to show the feeling of living in Korea, I think you are succeeding. I also watched the video of Dan's cooking shrimp and squid by the sea with the old lady. It was beautiful and left me with a feeling for the people who lived and worked there.
I really like this format. It was personal and you got to know the people a bit better. Also the camera work is very nice. Are you going to interview your other friends, too? Ps: didn’t know that Joel is already 30...interesting what he had to tell about his upbringing..

I’m the same as Gabie, sort of, in that we moved around almost every single year, growing up. I’m 30 now and been living in the same apartment for about 6 years and this is the longest I’ve probably ever been in one spot. Hearing about people who lived in one place for a long time does sound so special, but also kind of confusing to me. It’s totally incomprehensible in my life.

Whenever I'm asked who is the person I am looking up to and inspires me the most, the first person that pops in my mind is Gabie unnie and this video really validates it. Thank you so much Dan and Joel!
I get what Gabie means... I was born in California but was raised in Cochabamba until I was 9. I then went back to Cali and moved somewhere else after 2 years of living there. We also moved a lot when I lived in Cochabamba which sucked cuz that meant changing schools a lot too. It's so cool that Gabie knows 4 languages though, this was a fun interview ^^
watching this kinda make me sad because Gabie can't do what she loves for a while, or maybe forever?? (because of her case last year) she even emptied her channel. i mean, yes she was wrong, but i think it's too costly for her, Josh, and especially Ollie. i really hope she is okay and not blaming herself too much. i really wanna hug her 😢
I totally agree, it's so sad what happened. I really hope she can come back and move forwards, they accepted responsibility and people need to learn to forgive mistakes like this. I started cooking Korean food for the first time during lockdown because of her amazing recipes and would love to be able to go back to her channel and learn more! Now I'm here trying to remember how all of them used to be before all of this horrible stuff last year!
I really enjoyed this interview and hearing more about Gabi and watching Joel's reactions. I would love to see Gabi cook her own recipes for the people in Dan and Joel's neighborhood and have a multicultural pot luck. :p

i'm guessing about a few years later, Dan and Joel are gonna appear on at least one of the Korean shows, if they ever want to be famous here. Most foreigners eventually become famous through Korean tv shows. But for now they only seem to wish to enjoy a peaceful life in Korea
We've done a few things on some Korean TV but nothing on one of the big shows yet - except Joel was on Infinity Challenge in 2015 once! :) - but that's not necessarily a big goal for us! :) Thanks for the encouragement though! ^^
단앤조엘 Dan and Joel I’ve seen Joel on infinity challenge and yoo Jae suk gave him a Korean name. It was a funny episode. I wish I could see Joel and Dan on Korean TV again as well!
Technically, Gabbie is Korean but since she is born in Argentina...can she be Argentinean? Just so curious but interesting at the same time..but hey, latina koreana is awesome
@@yami2461 When she became Korean, she had to give up her Argentinian citizenship because dual citizenship was not allowed in Korea back then. Dual citizenship was only legalised in Korea in 2010.
It does give you an interesting take on culture and individuality, to move around. I'm a Yorkshireman, grew up in Scarborough until I was 8, we moved near to Birmingham, then after 6 years moved to Bristol. After 10 years my parents moved to Dorset and I emigrated to the USA (Alabama, don't ask, long story) in 2012, came back to the UK in 2014, then back out late 2014 (Seattle) then back to Alabama (2015), lived there until late 2016 when my Green card expired and I came back to the UK. Now been in the South West of England for just over 2 years. Even the differences in culture from the North of England, Midlands and South West are in such contrast to each other, it really does make you aware of the impact it can have of food, friends etc

I would love to hang out with Gabie for a day. She kinda reminds me of me in that she has to explain the countries she was it and citizenship but her story is so much more complicated than mine. I was born in Switzerland lived there for first 8-9 years of my life (though I did spend a while in the Philippines in the earlier years) then moved to the the US. Where I moved a few places. However I was born as a Philippine citizen and held a passport from there till I became a citizen of US. Part of me wants dual but idk if it's worth it a the present moment. Back to Gabie...she such an interesting person that I want to know more.maybe it's cause I don't seek out the info but there's not a lot of info on her that I know of.
You guys are such an inspiration! 💖 I have been living in the same country for 21 years, and I honestly can't wait to start traveling around the world! I need to get out of these 4 walls! 😂

Maybe it means her nationality is Argentinian but her ethnicity is Korean?
She said she had Argentinean passport but she legally became Korean few years ago after she moved to Korea. She explained it in one of her videos.
Once you are born in Argentina you never lose your nationality even if you choose other country, for the Argentinian law you are always Argentinian,

I would love to hang out with Gabie for a day. She kinda reminds me of me in that she has to explain the countries she was it and citizenship but her story is so much more complicated than mine. I was born in Switzerland lived there for first 8-9 years of my life (though I did spend a while in the Philippines in the earlier years) then moved to the the US. Where I moved a few places. However I was born as a Philippine citizen and held a passport from there till I became a citizen of US. Part of me wants dual but idk if it's worth it a the present moment.
Back to Gabie...she such an interesting person that I want to know more.maybe it's cause I don't seek out the info but there's not a lot of info on her that I know of.
