THE GAME CHANGER PH North-South Commuter Railway Projects

The North-South Commuter Railway is a 163-kilometer stretch of urban rail transit connecting New Clark City to Calamba with 37 stations-across Central Luzon, the National Capital Region, and CALABARZON. According to the Department of Transportation, it will service over a million passengers daily and cut travel time from four to less than two hours.
With funding from Japan International Cooperation Agency and Asian Development Bank, the NSCR has an expected cost of P873 billion, which makes it the most expensive railway transportation project in Philippine history.
The project is the biggest milestone of the Philippines Rail system, as it will resurrect the once proud culture of rail transport in the Philippines, which has left it in a crumbling state.
From the peak, of more than 1,100 route-kilometer prior to the Second World War 2. In 2016, the country had just 77-route kilometers of operational commuter line, light rail, and Metro line left. Serving the Metro Manila conurbation, with its almost 15 million residents, spread over 638 square kilometers.
The lack of rail infrastructure has increased pressure on road transport. Which carries about 98% of passenger traffic, and 55% of freight movements in the Philippines. Unsurprisingly, road congestion particularly in, and - around Metro Manila, resulted in an estimated economic loss of at least 3.5 billion and traffic loss costs in Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal reached 2.3 billion pesos per day.
The government is looking into policies and modes of transport like the railway to help cut losses. New open expressways, bridges, airports, and additional rail lines will help decongest roads and in turn, will cut the cost of transportation and save time on the road.
Without access to safe and efficient public transport, the delivery of Goods and services will be curtailed, and this exacerbates the uneven growth in urban and rural areas. With this in mind, the Philippine Government Build the North-South Commuter Railway in Greater Manila. The country’s largest ever individual infrastructure investment, costing 15 billion dollars.
PNR North-South Commuter Railway is envisioned as a 163-kilometer sub-urban railway network. Connecting, the regional business districts in Clark and New Clark City in the North, passing through central Manila to Calamba City in Laguna Province, south of the Capital.
The NSCR corridor will provide interchange with all of the existing Metro Manila Rail lines through the connection of MRT line 9 of the Metro Manila Subway.

@@roldandanranoco4094 The only thing I know is that mrt7 is proposed to be extended as far as ciudad de victoria then going to NMIA, mrt7 doesn't count, what Im saying is for NSCR to have a station in NMIA since it's the one that is connected to Clarck, if they do the extension of mrt7 to NMIA that's good but having NSCR connected to NMIA is better since the route is is going through all our major airports. Kung baga sana isinaman na, and don't get bothered if people want to comment their mind the comment section, that's none of your business.

Unless the Philippines becomes a major manufacturing hub we cannot become an industrialized developed country. Our service oriented industry like BPO and foreign workers is helping us for now but it will be a problem once technology would be able to replace it. This project was developed in 2013 as part of the JICA deals with Japan along with the Metro Manila Subway which was proposed in 2014 as part of the Metro Manila Dream Plan, also with JICA. It replaced the corrupt Northrail project with China which was cancelled in 2011. Duterte in fact almost cancelled the funding for this iirc.
