- Pug, a Baltimore teen and the subject of the documentary film "12 O'Clock Boys" is interviewed by David Troy.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
Woow, when the interviewer was like ''You were pretty cute when you was 12, you're pretty cute now, but...'' I felt him instantly regretting that statement, it was so damn awkward lol
💀
trust me homie if he felt a certain way pug would've curse his ass out.

The movie was a love story. Pug was in love with dirt bikes and his dream was to be good enough one day to be able to join the Twelve O' Clock Boys. He idolized the dirt bike riders because they were the coolest cats in the hood. Male role models to look up to. I had the same reaction when I saw an older kid riding a skateboard in the 70's. Love at first site. That's what I wanted to do, to learn how to master skateboarding. There was no stopping me.
skater here lol i can agree
Exactly how I got into skateboarding, been rippin for 16 years now.
Corral me and him got the same story I been riding for 4 years now I’m 14
I dont think anyone who didn't grow up in this kind of place could understand how hard life could be god bless his little heart
right
Eona Summers he's doing 3yrs for riding a bike right now
what ?
Exactly

Hes still a kid ..but he has lots of passion for life..more than most

TopShelf hope he stops stealing bikes
@@mrjoshuashaw Didnt he just take his bike back from the kid who stole his bike?
@@mrjoshuashaw He didn't steal anything he retrieved his belongings
Me too
Definitely NOT PUGH....BUT PUG🙂
I support the 12 o'clock boys. I always look for the pack when I'm in the city. Alot of you don't understand the struggle and city life, that's where all the hate comments come from. Being a white boy from the county, people from the city have always showed me love, all colors. I may load the bike and take a ride down Sunday real talk.Rip upnext, deshaun,g rock.
This help me really understand them now i see them from a whole new light now and that young man is a very handsome interesting and very tenacious kid he came up rough but he always seem to be so driven i fell in love with his spirit just from the documentary im happy for him and all those young men just wish they would suit up and use protective gear but they do a damn good job riding those bikes its verrry impressive💖💖💖
Pug is awesome
For the ppl that has a problem tell your government officials to give kids something to do its only 3 recreation centers open in the city...
And stop stealing bikes
pug remind me of my son so much its crazy... keep ya dreams in the sky young man sky's the limit.
Nice. Pug if you reading this stay positive and continue to work toward that Veterinarian career people believe in you even though they never met you. Giving you a shout out all the way frm New Orleans. Peace & Love
Knowledge Bone Right , you'll be a great ,awesome VET , stay true to your first dream ! Peace and love .
Heather Bowlan 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man I’m proud of you pug you did a great job little brother. Your on TED talk man 💪
You can tell he uncomfortable on the stage. He didn't answer the questions right but if given the stage experience... he definitely would be comfortable enough to say what he really mean. He seems more mature now. I hope he still go to college and become what he wants to be. The documentary movie was really good. Much love pug
Please find a future whether you go to school or not. There's a life outside your neighborhood. Take that potential and do something great that doesn't harm others. Think for yourself , you don't have to be like everyone else.
Whoah Whoah Whoah are we ignoring that this dude said "you were pretty cute when you were 12... I mean you're pretty cute now."? Wtf
+FlyGameBros HAHA
What sup pug
fr wtf
FlyGameBros 😭😭😭.
It was just a comment😲🙏🙄😇
I love how a 16 yr old is giving advise how to escape the cops
Emory Barrett is he in jail
Just saw 12 O'clock Boyz on iTunes. Wow! 12 O'clock Boyz is heartbreaking and exhilarating. Pug was really a beautiful boy and now he's this great 16 year old with a bright-looking future.
Pug I'm rooting for u lil Bruh.
I just watched the 12 O'clock Boys Movie. I don't agree with everything that went down in the move - as far as the parenting and guidance give. I can say that I know it's hard living in the inner city, I relate!! I hope Pug and all the other boys really work towards a better life. Its going to be hard- life is hard but with determination y'all can do it. Keep riding but be smart at it and stay safe.
Pug made me tuffer

It was obviously visible that Pug's attitude was shaped by the death of his older brother, Tiber. he was very "cold" at times and emotionally cut off. He displayed all the signs of a child who was deeply hurting, and could've probably benefitted from some early counseling. His emotional "band-aids" were provided (or not) in part by his mother, who rarely followed up on her threats to punish him, but at the same time pacified him with clothes, dirt bikes, and no curfew.
Big Pug young O.G.!!
Pug was on Ted ?? Yoooo 😎💪🏾
Was he really? Wow i didn't know that
u fall before u get nice
From the movie, it's a good quote...
I loved the 12oclock boys doco and pugs ambitious attitude towards the dirtbikes (even though it's illegal riding, and doing wheelies) anyway, idk if this was the right audience to share it with...
Pug you are a great person and I do wish you the BEST IN LIFE
When you have love sweetness of emotion within yourself you care no much about anybody's opinions . And yet people love you! 🙏🏼❤️
Kids in the impoverished community's do not have access to the shit middle class kids have access to so yes, they ride their dirt bikes in the streets. Pug Is not the most articulate kid, but I am sure that is due to a poor public school system. But you can tell he is extremely intelligent and he found something that he was passionate about and pursued it relentlessly... how many here can say they have done that? Your rude, racists remarks should not be directed toward a child who is nothing more than a product of his environment.
FACT! 💯💯
outcast566 thats a wise kid...
I deff wanna be a 12 O'Clock Boy....

Pug's the shit.
It sounds like he is going to cry
Now that I'm older I'm a little more mature and when police come we make sure to avoid them calmly and collectively. :D
Yep!
Baltimore is not the DMV. We dont say the same things as those dudes in the dmv. We got better sports teams also
I liked the movie haters will be haters 😂😂😱😏
JKS IMVU Kirk those people liked their bikes before they got stolen too 😂
I don't see how illegal dirt bike riding by underage youth... and many of the bikes are stolen... is an example of an idea worth spreading. I feel for Pug; he has grown up without positive male role models, and as every boy craves to be a hero he emulates the older males acting in a way he perceives as heroic (because they disregard authority). Nevertheless, Pug and his role models pose a threat to other, law-abiding Baltimore residents.
This idea of refusing to judge values of subcultures is a fatal flaw of a major portion of the modern intelligentsia. It does a disservice to those who, we are told, can't be judged, because who are we to judge... and so they grow up fully believing that they are acting in an acceptable way. And, it does a disservice to the wider society, by implying that societal norms arrant to be respected... and therefore the increasing lawlessness that harms everyone is the result.
He has a positive role model, he has a father! That works hard every day.... his father and mother do not see eye to eye on everything but my homeboy takes care of all of his children💯💯 😤😧😫😔
Oneway take over gang gang💪🏽
F* what everybody talking bout I love pug & what he do !
Lofty Nathan has decided to raise a college fund for Pug. Check it out here(www.gofundme.com/6kh0ww), it would be really awesome if the kid went to college.
I don't see the point of this interview. Pug was great in the documentary but elevating him to the status of a hero is just wrong. He got into trouble with the law again after this interview.
WOW! he just didn't have guidance in his life..staying in trouble with the law is not the way to reach your goals btw what is Pug real name?
He is so hiiiiiiiggghh! But pug is my boy!
Do what you do Pug!!
Go get em Pug!!! Keep makin progress

Aside from the race issue... liked the movie. Reading more of your comments, you're off the deep end bro. I understand what you're saying, and about destroying the city, and causing havoc, I agree. When he asked Pug, what would he ask of the city to do for them as riders. I would have thought the first thing out of his mouth would have been, "a motocross park".... hmmm. not. It seems the entire point of not riding motocross bikes on the streets (in and out of traffic) as a safety issue, is being missed. It's a law for a reason. smh. What killed me is how the kat driving the van, and condoning this activity, but at the same time speaking as a "responsible tax payer", took those boys to a field (which makes wayy more sense) and had them riding with no problems and unhindered by police. The more I think about it, the more it seems those kids just want the attention and adoration of their peers. Never understood how breaking the law is revered as cool. Pug seems to have a positive view for his future, hope he stays focused.
He sound so shy lol
Free PUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats my hood baltmore

Watched 1200 Boys and became a fan of @bikerboy Pug. So cute then and still cute now. LOL
He's so cute
Is he still alive
yeah
Yeah but he is in jail now but he is about to get out soon
dirtbike capital
Pug is a black child that has is the focus of a documentary because he unapologetically breaks the law. Meanwhile, Augusta Uwamanzu is also a black child, but has received virtually no recognition for her accomplishments. What did Augusta Uwamanzu do? She was accepted into all eight Ivy League Schools, graduated from high school as the valedictorian, and as a side note speaks intelligently, carries herself with poise, and is a law abiding citizen....Liberals, you praise Pug much louder than Augusta....Liberals, your values, morals, and perspectives need to change drastically.
But does she ride dirtbikes?
+Tyler lmfaooo
+Dt Divot (desman432) I'm sorry, I had to.
If your reply "but does she ride dirtbikes" is your attempt at humor you failed. First of all Pug is a boy and not a girl. Second you didn't address the fact that black culture glorifies criminals and demonizes blacks that actually make something of themselves.
Close...I believe you meant butt instead of but
Also, if by "but hurt" you mean that I am right, and that I get frustrated when individuals refuse to address real issues but instead respond with useless rhetoric, yep that's me being "but hurt"
I like pug plus u only live once dirtbikes fun. erbody that say he should be in jail should ride dirt bikes I bet y'all fall in love wit dem
12 4 life
Im ridding in a second
Pug lookin GQ in that blazer! Colleges & Universities you have been put on notice. TED talks Baltimore crowd - dont know if they recovered from the "cute" comment yet ... oof!

Kinda cute... awkward for pug I'm sure
I'm a decade and a couple a years, lol lmao
I dreamt about racing my dirt bike and getting sponsored. He dreamt about riding a dirt bike.
Damn.. u actually get it
I had a crush on pug but I had to get because of the boyfriend I do have😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
Not the best interview. Interviewer looked uncomfortable and I felt uncomfortable watching it. Many missed opportunities with this kid. Who are his heroes? Why do they ride in the streets? What do you feel when you are riding? Url? You could have just said website. This is B'more baby.
Just checked his Instagram. Looks like he didnt go to college and instead hes selling drugs 😂😂

Set up
There having fun in their own world, there going no where , and that is very sad. So I guess they live each day as it comes No planning for the future?
U plan and u still get nowhere, so? 🙄
Something about the interviewer I don't care for🤔
He is a cutie
Biggs don't care wat the shot that say I love dirt bike
This whole thing is a complete disgrace
+Quincy O'Connor stop it. I have friends from the east when living in DC and I do know how it is. I know EXACTLY how it is. I tried to get the most of them out of B-more and I got nothing but excuses
+Thomas Ricks why do you think it's a disgrace then
+Quincy O'Connor not only that but, providing an excellent job opportunity nonetheless coming out of high school and they wanted to stay. Saying the same garbage never wanting to get out of the city as if B-more is something special
+Thomas Ricks ok then
+Quincy O'Connor you could use that same money for the bullshit dirt bike and invest it into something else to make money and ride somewhere else and you would never have to worry about the federalies
Be a 12 o'clock boy, no skills required. In fact it's a requirement, you cant have skills.
u fall before u get nice
loved that line from 12 o'clock boys
