we all love how the shows plays with this theme and laugh at the utter hilarity in an edit like this. But if we think about it soberly it is really sad, isn't it? John feeling the need to deny being Sherlock's date, bf, whatever at any given moment. The show (at least one of the writers is gay) uses our deeply ingrained uneasyness and awkwardness, our own probable rejection when confronted with it personally, as fertile ground for a joke. Being called 'gay' makes us uncomfortable, we therefore avoid behaviour others might interpret as gay. Try this: John showing open signs he loves Sherlock, like helping him in everything, lending an ear, giving advice, guidance or counsel, or more mundane things, domestic things or being generous in touching him [in public]. How many of us will call that 'gay' even when neither of them ever has any desire to get physical in a sexual way? As long as being gay is frowned upon (even when tolerated), or the term 'gay' can be used to insult/shame people or make them uncomfortable, we won't see much genuine emotion between [male] friends. They might be trying to open the world up to the possibility of two men being gay and letting people accept it in their own way. It is at this point just a running joke and even if they were gay it doesn't change the context of the show. Personally to me, I think if they are gay fine if they aren't fine. On the flip side of your argument, what does it say about society when any deep friendship or tactile affection between 2 men is automatically presumed to be homosexual? Women are allowed to cohabit with their female friends and hug them in public without being assumed to have a sexual relationship with each other, but two guys Who share a flat, hug each other or stand too close together must be sexual partners. Men are consistently deprived by society of platonic expressions of friendship to one another. Even the fandom who are gay themselves and enthusiastically support a gay relationship between Sherlock and John are still making this error without being homophobic about it. This faction in fact was incensed against the writers For their so-called gay baiting… In the end Moffat and Gatiss Didn’t make this pair overtly gay enough to please more of the fans Who would’ve only been satisfied with a full on sex scene. We all do a disservice to friendship by considering it as inherently lesser of a relationship than one that includes getting naked with each other. In fact I think the reverse might be more true. Lovers and sex partners often come and go throughout life but a pure and devoted friendship between two individuals untainted by sexual politics and jealousy is a rare and beautiful thing, particularly between men. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was dealing with fan interpretations of his famous pair being homosexual from the very beginning, but that was never his intent. Moffat and Gatiss were playing around with the humor but to the end Dr. Watson steadfastly insisted that he was heterosexual. Why assume that he is either lying or self delusional about this? It is after all the 21st century, not the 19th century. As for Sherlock Holmes, then as now he enjoys winding his flatmate up and mocking societal conventions. Sherlock Holmes is asexual, and he is so uninvested in the idea of sexual/romantic relationships that he would say absolutely no need to deny or affirm anyone’s perception of his association with John. He doesn’t deny that he’s John’s boyfriend out loud because ultimately he doesn’t care what people think. Not because he believes himself to be in love with John in that way. John is his best friend, likely his only friend, And their friendship is intense because They are each other’s primary relationship in addition to being brothers in arms in crime solving. Danger and proximity binds people together and they don’t have to be sleeping together for this to happen. This transcends romance and becomes something even greater.
People will say "And they were besties" Historians will say "And they were roommates" And I will say : THERE IS ONLY ONE BEDROOM IN SHERLOCK'S APARTMENT IT'S SAID BY MRS HUDSON IN THE FIRST EPISODE
i have two wolves inside me. one of them is my obsession with fictional romance that keeps shouting that John and Sherlock are in love and are married and everybody knows it. the other is my aromanticism that is shouting that John and Sherlock aren't romantically involved but they're also not purely platonic and their bond is too strong and emotional for others to understand
Okay but obviously Sherlock would’ve corrected Angelo on the date thing if he believed that John wasn’t his date, because Sherlock Holmes corrects everyone whenever he can, but he didn’t, so like, the reason is obvious. Also if the world’s greatest detective thinks you’re flirting with him, you probably are. Also apparently Sherlock thinks that John ‘bounces around him like a puppy’ because he knows he’s really unsociable and he says that about someone else sooo...if those aren’t clear sings idk what are

John: **obnoxiously clears his throat**
Me: AWWWWWH
People will say "And they were besties"
Historians will say "And they were roommates"
And I will say : THERE IS ONLY ONE BEDROOM IN SHERLOCK'S APARTMENT IT'S SAID BY MRS HUDSON IN THE FIRST EPISODE
they share a bed?
i have two wolves inside me. one of them is my obsession with fictional romance that keeps shouting that John and Sherlock are in love and are married and everybody knows it. the other is my aromanticism that is shouting that John and Sherlock aren't romantically involved but they're also not purely platonic and their bond is too strong and emotional for others to understand
"Sherlock wasn't my boyfriend" no John he _wasn't_ he _is_
I love how sherlock is always like "NO that's dumb!" until someone ses that they are dating then Hes like "...... ._.
Irene and Mrs Hudson being wholesome for 3 minutes and 40 second straight
I dOn'T sHaVe fOr ShErLoCk HoLmEs
mAn I am so happy by the fact that the fandom is staring to be more alive and active :'))✨✨✨✨ I am going to cry ah-
Btw beautiful video✨
I love your editing so much I really laught 😂
I love your comment hahaha ♡ tks I'm happy you appreciate it
Okay but obviously Sherlock would’ve corrected Angelo on the date thing if he believed that John wasn’t his date, because Sherlock Holmes corrects everyone whenever he can, but he didn’t, so like, the reason is obvious. Also if the world’s greatest detective thinks you’re flirting with him, you probably are. Also apparently Sherlock thinks that John ‘bounces around him like a puppy’ because he knows he’s really unsociable and he says that about someone else sooo...if those aren’t clear sings idk what are
YESSSS - YOU SAID IT 🤭👏🏼👏🏼
@Claudia Maria Popescu Y E S
was the rick roll really necessary?! 🤨😂
also. your boyfriend is oblivious! poor him, he hasn't been enlightened yet. he hasn't seen the wonders of johnlock.
i wanna like but lets keep it at 69😉
john bi panic is what i live for
Correction- Almost everone knows that their in love
*Sherlock and Watson are just too oblivious to realize*
"Catch my hand."
Remember when the waiter said “date” Sherlock asked John what did he want to eat right away so that John couldn’t deny.
But he denied later lol
Mrs. Hudson and Mary both shipped it so hard
*"A WOMAN?!"*
Not Mrs. Hudson being genuinely shocked that John was dating a woman.
THE POOL SCENE JKJSKSJSJ
And don't forgot last sentence of Mary:
"I know what you will become now i'm not here. "
She knows
(Sorry for my English)
I just watched the first two episodes of this one and I’m CONVINCED they’re gonna kiss at some point. Please don’t spoil it.
PLS MAKE MORE I LIVED FOR THAT, im so happy the sherlock fans are back from the dead again
I WILL!!! THANK U
“You really have moved on haven’t you,” followed by that little nose scrunch is the best line and delivery in the whole show.
thank you for making my day , this truly made me laugh when barley anything can these days JOHNLOCK FOREVER
Thank you sm!!! And I'm glad it helped you 🖤 have a nice day!!
Even in the book they just act like a long married couple

They are always adorable

Coming out to my mom but she already knows
Mrs. Hudson is the number one Johnlock shipper
This is why I belive sherlock was openly gay before he met John because everyone sherlock knew before John assumed John was his boyfriend they didn't ask why they moved in together they just assumed they were dating because its obviously sk out of character for sherlock to have a close friendship that's isn't beyond just friends
Irene and Mary would be up for being in a polycule, nobody can convince me otherwise.
Oh this one hurts, it hurts because it's so obvious yet it's probably never going to be canon. Well, maybe who knows, I just hope they don't pull a Supernatural.
But if you think twice... After Mary died John went back to 221b and raised Rosie with Sherlock whom she's probably going to call "dad" too
@@NicoleSonagere Nah, "Uncle Sherlock."
Noo supernatural HURT my heart
@@graceheckley for a kid a man who rises them will inevitably become the father
@@alexandra.kol36 Not unless you teach them something else. "Dad" and "Uncle Sherlock" fits their characters.
I love Mrs. Hudson, she's so adorable
whe i was watching it and heard "ppl might talk'i was like :yes, YES I WILL but when he said "now ppl will talk i almost spilled my tea across table
That was amazing, i just finished to rewatch the serie yesterday and i needed some more Johnlock 🙏🏻
Hope your boyfriend was able to see the light 😂

I love how Sherlock is just like.....
Where are you going?😂😌😌😂😂😂
Never have I shipped a ship so hard in my life i-🤗🤗🤗
i've never thought i'd get rickrolled by sherlock holmes...
This whole video is a rickroll which makes this video 1000% better
I’ve only just finished s1 and I already love Johnlock so much. I totally get it now! I’ve heard about people shipping them for years. After one episode and all the hints in that very first episode alone made me love them. ❤️
Enjoy every minute!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
@@NicoleSonagere I will! Thank you and this video is awesome. I very carefully tried to watch Johnlock videos before finishing the show but I was spoiled that there’s a somewhat happy ending for them even if they don’t happen in canon.
@@NicoleSonagere I’m back at this video now after months since I finished the show! Ships Johnlock more than ever!
@@Bloodyheroesandlegends aaaa I am glad you enjoyed it ♡ and tks for coming back 😁
@@NicoleSonagere of course! This is one of the funnier Johnlock videos and I was in the mood for that
I love how quick everyone always is to assume they’re dating 😂❤
I mean there is indication that he had frick with irene, and also that he flirts with John and also that he is asexual so I just think of sherlocks sexuality as 'whatever works'
Rick Astley in the background is perfect
i didnt even ship merthur as fast as i shipped johnlock
first episode restaurant scene got me understanding why they had so much ao3 fics 😩😔 johnlock skipped all the tension and just straight up got married
Love them they are cute together💖❤👬👑
1:49 she sounds so much like Mrs Hudson there 😯
Everything aside. Molly and irene are so funny and lovable
John… your Bilbo is showing
pls i can’t get over the tiny rick astley dancing in the corner the whole time
This is the best rickroll ever
:") thanks
we got a johnlock compilation but at the cost of being rickrolled
1:41, that's my favorite part, especially:
