I money shifted from 4th to 3rd and the timing chain stretched causing the p0342 code I believe my oil chain and tensioner went out giving me a rattle noise coming from the accessory side of the engine
ohhh no good, however i have seen one of those oil pump tensioners i pulled off an engine broken before. If the pump had jumped teeth you'd probably get some very harsh vibrations too. Only real way to find out is to get the pan/timing cover off unfortunately. Fingers crossed its not too bad, damage wise mate
Cool thanks, i never know what to record.... Starting to learn that its best to film most things I'm doing and let people watch it if they are interested.
This was my hope that something like this would be an option. Short answer is not easily. It would need to be a custom made piece to make it work. I think you possibly could port/modify the k24 pump so it doesn't cavitate but I'm not 100% sure what causes the issues. I think its possibly that ridge which blocks half the path after the gears.
I imagine they do have a service life, saying that all the chains i've seen have still been nice and tight. I have seen the oil pump tensioners fail, so that might be worth checking if you have the engine open.
Hello, This is second time a changing my oil pump, the pump get broken within two weeks . Pls am planning to get another pump but before I fix it I want to know what we're not getting right that is causing the pump to break ...
In a k24 oil pump it needs to be timed also. The gear has a timing mark unlike the k20 pump. The timing mark is for the balance shafts to counter the engine frequency at the right time. I bet you're not timing your k24 oil pump when installing it.
Really easy just don’t damage the shiny side of the gears on the shaft it’s part of the bearing surface to the housing, just use a angle grinder cutting wheel or if you can have a really big chuck and lathe the ends off and make a really nice finish

Yes it was interesting. Thanks

Can you keep the counter balance and Frankenstein the Type S oil pump into this one? so you can get the best of both worlds? high RPM and no NVH

Do these wear out? 06 Crv with 207k miles and debating on replacing when doing my oil pump chain.

wow, i've never heard of them breaking. How/where does it break?

@@mayk3lll oh yeah 100% if they weren't timed it would likely destroy them! @dopamumonday4617
Hello, can you help me with the torque specs for the 14mm and 12 mm bolts holding the balancer shaft/oil pump assembly?
Bro can the balance shafts be cut out?
I can't say it would be impossible, but I cant see any easy way of doing it.
