I'm in Nigeria west Africa and I have this doing well in my back yard, it's ability to have multiple colored flowers makes me addicted and I just keep propagating it and having more plants every now and then.
I just got 4 cuttings that already have a ton of roots. Should I just wait to plant them and leave in water until Spring or can I plant them now? I live in Alabama.
If they have a ton of roots, I think I would go ahead and either plant in the ground or a container. Just be sure to keep the moist until they get established. Good luck!
@grassrootsgardening it was still a pretty hibiscus hybrid summerific I put it in my garden by house. My confederate rose seeds will be here tue I have special spot in yard for them. Since they are bigger 😀
The sooner the better after they start growing, so they have time to develop lots of roots. As soon as I get root system is developing yes you can plant them in the ground anywhere you like

@@tlo42058 you’re gonna have hibiscus everywhere, love it!
I love Confederate Jasmine or Star Jasmine best, the zombie smell
They can be pretty powerful!
So it only blooms for a month or so in October?
Maybe a little longer depending on first frost, absolutely stunning when it blooms though!
When in 7b zone should I take cuttings to propagate? When can I plant in ground after roots grow?

@@grassrootsgardening spring or summer?
I take cuttings in the fall before the first freeze, root them in water through the winter, then plant in the spring.
Good afternoon. Is there anything that you can do to promote more blooms?
Adding fertilizer in early spring and then again in late Summer will help. Also, more sunlight= more blooms
