You are the first guy I've seen with coated Pistons other than NHRA professionals. I've often wondered why none of the no prep guys are doing this especially the nitrous guys. And yes I smelled Nitro when I was at war in the woods❤ Always will LOVE the CROW 💯

@donaldgminski8621 I know it's a lot more expensive to buy the Pistons coated. But there's a place in Cleveland Ohio that does it pretty reasonable priced. the Coatings definitely disperse Heat
the coating sure helps keep the skirts from getting scuffed up with this rod to stroke ratio.....ross pistons turned me onto the coating years ago, they call it embee coating i think. Really made a difference in keeping the catch can empty

The quickest disassemble and reassemble of a engine on the internet just over 11 minutes that must be a record lol. Hey chief the reason behind the weld sinking into them heads because they're cast they are very porous, that weld is solid and you're right it is a slightly different material and what happens is that porous material expands at a different rate than that solid filler from the weld and it literally just cracks the cast around the weld material and that weld material

I race a pontiac in a pontiac, with the majority of my engine parts would bolt right up to a showroom 70 GTO...And mine aint some piece meal'd faker either...My car started life as a real deal 70 Judge starlight black, and was modified over the years to what it is now....Vs most of the shit out there now is an aftermarket Keystone roof panel, and a pair of replacement quarterpanels hung on a pro mod chassis. "Steel roof and quarters" lol
Maintenance is the key. Wish I could make some customers understand that.

If you’re never getting up to running temp for an interval that can yield hot enough oil(210-230) temp, you will have condensation in oil. Change filter keep digging, just change filter after 10 runs or so.

I am blown away you run as fast as you do with that engine . I always just assumed it was some custom billet Pontiac engine . Nope cast block with edlebrock heads like it’s 1995 .

When you do the dry decking on the heads is the plug recessed and the hole chamfered to do a button type weld? Contamination before welding can cause that too! 🤷. Just what I've been taught! Anywhos y'all's got some nice rides! TY for sharing!

Love the up close and personal look going over the breakdown. Talking about the water jackets being welded up and depressing over time, are they welded up in layers or just closed up? Since they’re not solid it makes sense.

It’s still kind of a shock to see an old Pontiac block with a set of cast Edelbrock heads making the power this thing does. Even more of a head shaker is how those heads don’t lift with just 4 head studs per cylinder.
Love the nova, it looks so different but bad arse . Hope one day we see it make a hit 👍
