Great video. Hedgehog numbers in the UK have declined rapidly over the past few years. We must do everything we can to protect them before they become extinct.
excellent video i have 3 hedgehogs one very big one in the back of my house i love them so much I leave food every night for them they are so beautiful and cute
They're so interesting I've never seen hedgehogs get along as a family so it looks like you're showing them getting along and then a couple of them that are angry it's an interesting video cute thanks!
The hedgehogs and coblets are Gods creation. We need to take care of them.Amen.I learn alot of them.We hurt or destory. We are the stupid ones.GOD CREATIONS WE TAKE OF THE THEM AND LAND OF ALL OF THE LAND.AIR SO THEY CAN LIVE.PRAISE THE LORD.AMEN
Hi there! I have a random question but I am currently working for a Japanese TV company called the NHK - we are making a wildlife documentary about hedgehogs in London. I have come across your amazing footage and wondered - 1) Do you live in the UK? 2) Do you still film hedgehog families? Many thanks! Abi
Hi Abigail. We just saw your comment from two years ago (so I guess we are too late!). We live in London (my wife is from Japan, I'm a Londoner) and we have a very special Hedgehog resident who pretty much uses our terrace garden as her home base who has been with us for almost a year now. We do have some film of our spiky friend but most of the time she is only active at night as should be. I presume the documentary has already been completed though. If it has been, Is it available on the internet at all? All the best Jason & Kanako.
They are mammals. The mother suckle their young for 3-4 weeks. They all stay together for a few more weeks until the hoglets have learned how to find insects and worms on their own.
Fabulous footage but am confused. Hedgehogs don't come out in daylight, they are nocturnal. You only see them during the day if there is something wrong so this is a little misleading.
If seen out in the day (unless a mum moving nest) the hedgehog will almost certainly require emergency help. They NEVER sunbathe unless desperately ill and hypothermic.
That's not true. We had baby hedgehogs in our garden, and when they were little, they explored the space around the nest in the day time. It's true that they are mostly nocturnal, but that doesn't mean they can be only active in the night time, all the time. Of course there are exceptions.
@@georginamangan3573 Humans are diuranl, that doesn't mean we can't or won't go out at night. Still worth making sure they're okay, but it looks like these come out on a regular basis. Also looks like most of this video was captured in the early morning or evening. If you see a hedgehog out at noon, they're probably ill or very hungry.

Exactly it's such a harmless cute little animal it's so sad if they're being diminished in one area what can we do?

I thought hedgehogs couldn't get close to each other? They look like they close to me!
sure they can. otherwise they would die out (no breeding)

Что за прекрасная музыка, кто знает?😊

Good footages but annoying, unnecessary music.
Fabulous footage but am confused. Hedgehogs don't come out in daylight, they are nocturnal. You only see them during the day if there is something wrong so this is a little misleading.
European Hedgehogs arent just nocturnal. You see them often out in the day, sunbathing and having early morning worms.

@@wewe-pc9vn Yes that's true we spotted two baby hedgehogs in our garden. They were enjoying the sun as fullest as possible...

Why spoil this with mawkish music? I had to mute it. What's wrong with natural sounds for God's sake? They're beautiful.
