I bought mine about a month ago. I was waiting to see if people were saying it was worth it after it had been out for a while. I can say I agree with you and that the headset is amazing. It is my first experience with vr, so I had some very high expectations, but the PSVR2 met almost all of them. I will say the blur around the lenses took a little getting used to, but once you find the sweet spot and get into a game, you practically forget it’s there. I just hope they keep releasing great games and keep supporting this platform.
There's still not many must-have ps5 games so i haven't upgraded yet. Pay hasn't increased in years but bills have so im going to have to still wait. I hope to get 1 some day.
Headset is great, there are some fantastic games, my biggest issue is Sony not marketing it. I feel they think that people who want it, will get it, but still.
Just got mine yesterday gotta say definitely a HUGE upgrade compared to the first model . Graphics are very nice a bit blurry at some points but nothing I mean nothing like the first model ! Overall very nice graphics and smooth play through
One thing has not changed: those who have played and loved the variety and versatility of PCVR will have been disappointed with what PSVR2 has to offer. There is not much to get excited about, and the PSVR2 library while decent on its own just sucks when compared with PCVR's.
I have both PCVR (multiple headsets) & PSVR2. PCVR has been around since 2016, 7 years. PSVR2 has been around for 6 months. It's definitely expected to be smaller game library on PSVR2. But what is there is mostly great. There's definitely a better games library than people make out. But PSVR2 will never have the ability for VR mods like PCVR, thats why having both is great. I was sceptical until I got PSVR2, but instantly loved it. But if you don't own a PS5 already its expensive to get PSVR2 and a PS5.
Sorry did you say PSVR2 was comfortable and balanced? Hahahaha! I've had to mod mine more than my quest 2. It's was physically painful to wear for anything more than about an hour. I think the design of psvr2 suits maybe 50% of people. I have 2 studio form creative VR head straps one sideways and one mid to back and their counterweights to make the back heavier, and also a repurposed kitchen sponge at the front before the headset could be called comfortable for me. ❤ But no. Out of the box comfort was not a win. Psvr1 has a much better front cushion.
My first experience of VR, think its amazing. No going back to 2D in GT7 and the reason i bought it. Been really enjoying some of the other games when i can pry myself away from the rig. I have a serious back log of games so yer totally agreed there is plenty. People also need to remember how long a game takes to develop, these AAA games people are complaining a lack of only months into its life would need to have been in development 3to5 years ago for a headset that didn't even exist. The pre outlay would be astronomical and really unrealistic. Ghostbusters is a Sony co developed game so they are working on things. Think some of these reports, especially the false Bloomberg figures are seeded from a competetor. Looking forward to seeing how well its doing now its in retail, i pre ordered mine, everyone who's tried it want one. Some have plunged in so i think its doing well. Nice video 👌
Ive had mine 2 months now. Before that I had Rift, Rift S, Quest & Quest 2. I hadn't played much VR recently, I find Quest 2 was a graphical downgrade from PCVR I struggled to get high end PCVR games to work well on quest 2 with link cable, to many artefacts and i'm only running a RTX 2080s so lots of frame drops. I was reluctant to fork out for RTX4070 as there has not been much in the way of new titles on PCVR. So PSVR2 made sense as I already own a PS5. It effectively the same price as the Quest 3 will be. Im not disappointed and the excitement of using VR again and feeling immersion is similar to how I felt with my 1st Rift. Loving GT7, over 300 hours in. Games like Synapse show this is a next gen headset with eye tracking and amazing haptic feedback. With Sony 1st party support this could be the best gaming headset n the market. But i'm probably biased as love the PSVR2
Thinks it’s a disappointment if I’m honest…..I was expecting the same graphics as you do without the headset. Most games feel very minimalistic apart from a few major games.
Fantastic video great presentation. Love vr but also love flat.what a great time to be a gamer just bloody expensive lol. Love gt7 with wheel res village looking forward to madison vr phasmophobia aces of thunder res 4 the wanderer project wingman vertigo 2 low fi plus need to get synapse and red matter 2. To much lol. Great video thankyou 😊
I'm a 1st week launch owner I'm happy with it so far but... Tracking fails more often than Quest 2 (HMD and controllers) It's not THAT comfortable for glasses user.
I don't understand the hate for this vr headset! It's an affordable 4K headset! If you have a 3K pc then you'll need a $1500 or $2000 VR! WTF! There's no comparison! For what it does now, it's fuckin good enough! What else do you need?
Can't even wear it without a beanie - there's hard plastic underneath the dead flesh rubber front bit. Hate it so, so much. PSVR1 is soft and I can wear it for hours. I don't understand it at all. Picture is a bit grainy at times. Don't really think it's a great headset tbh :(
Bought mine 3 months ago. Bought the best 5 games they have. And that’s about all they have. Maybe 10 decent games at best. Now mine just gathers dust. I don’t know why they can’t give us an open world game. Or a simulator other than driving. Or something other than cartoony looking graphics or black and white colors. It’s almost as if they’re intentionally trying to make it flop. It’s a shame because the good games are REALLY good. Albeit extremely short games. Resident evil took like 12 hours to beat. And it’s replay value is zero. Probably sell mine in the next few months if better games don’t come out.
@@rugga No mans sky, while graphically amazing and the depth is great, all you do is go to other planets and mine. It’s so boring. It’s only 16gb so it’s not very detail oriented.
In many ways, I love the PSVR 2. But the tiny sweet spot that always move out of place, is a big issue. So big that I’m not using it nearly as much as I want to.
On the topic of game library, I would like to add games PSVR2 doesnt and likely will never have, because its important to make sure someone who may be comsidering a PSVR2 knows not just about what games they have, but also which ones they dont No half life alyx (though Valve would likely allow Sony to port it over, but Valve certainly wont do it themselves) No BONEWORKS, stress level zero just does not care about this game anymore No BONELAB, this game relies to much on modding and stress level zero has made it pretty blunt that the game downright requires modding capabilities No contractors, well this could theoretically happen, but I dont see Sony allowing for modding capabilities like the game has on PC and Quest, which is the only reason I play it, TF2 and Halo VR is just to good And the big one, no VRchat, this one is just downright not happening, though maybe, MAYBE it could, Sony seems to be slowly allowing more user generated content based games with Roblox now coming to Playstation, but I HIGHLY doubt VRchat will ever make it to PSVR2, its just a game that feels like everything Sony tries to avoid on their platform A few honorable mentions of mods for flatscreen games that obviously, being mods, will never make their way over Minecraft Half life 1 and 2 Fire watch (this game in VR is so god damn good) Subnatica Portal 2 Left4dead 2 And a bunch im 100% forgetting
i’ve used it to watch UA-cam but not any movies. it’s a good alternative to a large screen if you don’t have one, but it’s less clear than just looking into a monitor. the screen also just sits in an infinite black void, i wish sony would give us some environments to view content in!
Waiting a year for PS5 PRO in the hope they'll use the power to remove the need for reprojected frames. This was always the thing that made me sick with PSVR1. I never felt sick with Track Mania Turbo, as insane as that game is, which ran at 120 FPS natively. Although there are some native 120 FPS and 90 FPS games for PSVR2, I really want the headset for triple-A quality games like GT7 and RE8, but without the reprojection. I can definitely wait for the algorithm to be improved, but this is modern PlayStation, so not expecting anything at all to happen in that space unfortunately.
I'm coming from pc and I'm getting a psvr2 in a few days and let me tell you it's a shame of all the hate this headset receives considering it would be at least $1000 bucks on pc. I went with this over a pc vr headset because of price and overtime I believe Sony will have some very good games and exclusives on this headset. I wish this worked on pc, but I'm not going to bash it just because it doesn't either, considering it's a Sony product and they have their own eco system. I have a beast system, but I'll admit pc vr is still quite expensive to get into. I believe if people give the psvr2 a chance, there's going to be a lot of good games coming in the future! Look how long it took pc vr to get half life alyx, and I'm proud to say I was there for it with my cv1 and quest 2 headsets. I'm just saying give it some time and I believe Sony will deliver.
I bought it day one and have stil lots of games to play. I have played around 15 games but only fin maybe 3. I want to have Psvr2 but at the same time don't play so much anymore. Because of so many good games coming out. I still play the Psvr2 from time to time and will play No mans sky at least every week now. And want to fin maybe 5 psvr2 games more this year but will probably not have/take time for it.
Yes, BUT...Given a choice whether to play Far Cry / Portal 2 in VR with PCVR-Quest 2 compression or NOT to play them with compressionless PSVR2, I will always choose the former.
Right that’s what I was thinking too! Headset is a 10/10 and games are plentiful but…. We mostly all bought this headset thinking Sony will launch all these killer exclusives on it! It’s been 6 months…. not much except for Horizon… a AAA game that was built from the ground up for Sony’s VR. Very disappointing.
It’s shocking how much Quest 3 users are just straight up trashing the PS VR2 and making up so much exaggerated crap. I’ve been told by 5 different people when asking for help deciding what headset would better fit my needs and they all told me don’t buy VR2 and that Quest 3 is “far superior”. Pretty much claiming it’s blurry and has no games and heaven forbid you attach a cord!
