This is what got me started in bowling was watching these telecasts back at the old neighborhood and after we moved in 1972 I got my start in it as a six year old and many years later had well over fifty 200 games under my belt before losing my lower left leg.
How awesome is this? I marvel at your finds. Congrats again. Another pivotal telecast - Gunenther throwing 80-something the final 3 games is mind-blowing, especially playing that sort of line...
Just ran across this in 2021. My dad Bud Mitchell was the Manager of Saratoga Lanes. I spent a lot of time at the lanes in the 60's and 70's. Frank Thatcher was co/owner of Saratoga Lanes
I was a junior bowler at the Saratoga Lanes in the late 1960s/early 1970s. I remember Jim St. John giving us tips in clinics he occasionally gave. I remember the cool bowling shirts they gave you when you bowled in regional competitions. I loved getting the patches and having my mother stitch those on the shirt.
At 1:19 the graphics are crooked!! A separate graphics camera for the on-screen graphics and messages was considered high-tech in those days!! :) LOL!!!!
Jackson showed no respect toward Buzz by continuing to mispronounce his last name (Billy Welu correctly pronounced his name at the beginning of the match) May seem pretty, but the name Fazio was legendary in the PBA community.
@irishpogi my request is can you upload any bowling shows from 1995 and 1996 such as (1995 Pba Quaker State Open, 1995 Pba Greater Baltimore Open, 1995 Pba Bud Light Open, 1995 Pba Ac Delco Classic, 1996 Pba Greater Detroit Open, 1995 Pba Tums Classic).

Bill Allen (RIP) was sitting in the background. One of the first great left-handers out there was from Orlando, FL. Was voted in the PBA Hall of Fame.
Whoa Nellie, it's Keith Jackson!

It’s 60’s and 70’s.
Johnny Guenther bowled 300 games!
Back in THOSE days, if you were in your sixties as Buzz Fazio was here, you LOOKED it. The "Buzzer" was a very well-preserved guy!!! :) :)
Yeah, I can dig it. And I'm 67.

@@timothyhodges705 I agree....I couldn't understand why he kept mispronoucing his name after Billy Welu said it correctly....
He lived to be 85 years old....
It tells the story.
The crowd tells the story!
These guys are the ones who got this whole thing started. Too bad the players of today are so brash, compared to these guys who acted like gentleman.
There’s nothing left to say, let’s just watch
$19,000 total and a 1969 Mercury Cougar! How much money would that be today, and what would a 1969 Cougar cost today?
19,000 dollars would be 131,589.09 dollars in today's money
Johnny Guenther does know how to string a lot of strikes
@andrewphillips2179 The TROLL of the PBA strikes again !!!!!
Was Wayne a full roller?
Keith Jackson, known for announcing football games, was also famous for calling the New York Jets the Jits!
and that is?
