That is my husband's favorite race car, we go year after year and this year it was a beautiful experience to have shared with Jim Hall.❤❤

My favourite race car as well and Jim Hall too! What an innovator! First with wings, first with vacuum creating suction to the race course, first with standard transmission which flipped to an automatic transmission going down in gears or was it visa versa? He was also one of a very few that used wind tunnels for aerodynamic design of race cars. Plus he was a very good race driver! What a package. We always looked forward every year to his new inventions and were never let down! Saw him every year at Mosport.

As a Kid, Chaparral Racing was the stuff of dreams. I had all the Aurora versions of their cars.

I watched the 2F win at Brands Hatch in '67 with Hill and Spence at the wheel in intermittent rain. That wing was so impressive.

Checked it out in 2014 and the 2E was set up for visitors to sit in. I have a photo of me in it!

Those were the days when racing was exciting and big new things from small-time racing teams! 😎

Thanks for a seriously excellent video with superb musical accompaniment. Jim Hall's Chevy Chaparrals were always the most beautiful race cars in every race they entered; they won quite few of these races as well. Really enjoyed it.

i remember when the chaparral was raced in the '60s, it was my all time favorite race car... still is. I also remember a magazine a long time ago featuring a hot rod with a built chevy six owned by Jim Hall of Texas who went by 'Mr. Chevrolet'. Same guy? ...Frank

I had the Cox slot car model of the 2D in 1964/5. Full magnesium alloy chassis. Very expensive here in Australia, and my pride and joy. Been a Chaparral man ever since. Love em.

The Chaparral cars were some of the finest independent, non factory cars built for racing.

Because I am old, the sculpted look of 1960s race cars and supercars look better to me than today's chiseled hyper-aero stuff.
