Really, this was your favourite? Sounds to me like they really haven’t got it together at this point, it’s all pretty ramshackle. In all fairness they probably couldn’t hear each other on stage hence the tuning problems. Having no drummer at this point also doesn’t help.

Bunked off school for this and got a day's suspension and finally have spotted myself in the crowd which I hadn't on the Fairport footage. Abiding memory is being sat on the stage just before this performance and a voice coming from behind the amps "Get off the f##king stage". Btw I'm right in front of Peter Knight.

We walked along the beach from Formby for this and found the band members playing football against a local made-up team. Martin Carthy was barefoot in goal. The concert was short and curtailed by the cutting-off of the power supply. Immensely memorable though.

This is so wonderful to watch this video from 1971. I was in my teens then and loved Maddy's voice. Oh, how I wished I had Maddy's talent and looked like her too. Beautiful face, high cheekbones and long straight lovely hair and tall. Alas, I don't have ANY of those features or talent. Maddy, looking like a model here. Lovely, lovely voice.

Oh, what a glory. There’s nothing like a live performance, even if a recorded version is my only access to it. Such clarion voices, beautiful instrumentation, and good lord, Maddy Prior is one hell of a natural beauty. (In addition to having my favorite voice in the history of ever)

@@colstearn9005 I heard the song "All Around My Hat" on the radio and went looking for the album because I loved the sound of that song. Their records were here, but they got almost zero airplay on the radio. And back then that's all there was - the radio. In 1971 I was in the US Navy and I was stationed in the Holy Loch, Scotland. . Most of my family was Irish. However, most of my wife's family was Scottish. Her father's parents were from Greenock when they emigrated to the US. . I had a good friend who was working on her PhD at the University of Glasgow. So I ended up hanging out with several Scots. We went to several pubs. We'd go up stairs where the tourists weren't allowed and listen to a local band. It got a bit hectic when a couple of dogs got in a fight, but no one missed a beat.

I have experimented with both the video and the audio by speeding it up to 5% faster and can safely conclude that you are not correct. As it is a very old recording there is a chance it is maybe 1 or 2% slower when transferred from the original tape but even looking at the impact 2% has on the peoples movements in the crowd then it still didn't look right. So it's just as it should be :)

Maybe 125% is a bit fast, but look at 0:19 and see how slow those two members of the audience are moving. It is definitely slowed down. Speeding it up to 125% may look, and may in fact be, a little too fast, but the music at least sounds normal, compared to other videos and the records. I have heard "The Lark In The Morning" hundreds if not thousands of times, and your video played at the suggested speed is painful and much too slow. Too bad you have to get so defensive that you are delusional and cannot see what is obvious. Just look at 0:19 . Anyway, thanks for posting it, it is nice to see even if it makes my ears bleed! ;-)
