I used to climb rock faces, and obviously had know a few knots. I had a theory that working as a design engineer and drawing things in 3D gave me the ability to visualize to see things in 3D space so to speak, which made knots easy for me. I loved the cat story and its moral of an act of kindness paying off with work you might not have otherwise had. August reminds me of emergency room doctors. The ones who initially stand back and calmly analyze the situation and organize the their team of junior doctors and nurses. They have a calm intelligence that shows in their eyes, which has a positive effect on the team. August has that look, and I suspect he would have done well at whatever he chose to do in life.
Thank you for showing us this. I’m going to try it. Crazy how awesome the tree life community is man. I never thought I would make so many awesome friends just by turning tree jobs into UA-cam videos. I’m not as good or dedicated to them as you are but the community is definitely there and I absolutely love it. Again thank you and stay safe sir.
I'm the same way with Neighbors I normally just keep stuff on the job side of the fence but most of the time the neighbors come out and tell me just drop the trees into my yard it's no problem love those people
Exactly. Always find that if you put out the good vibes and spend time with people good vibes come your way. Makes the day a bit longer but often a lot easier.
Good stuff August. Well done getting the tree rigged back over the "cagey" neighbor's fence. Great cat rescue story, and also sad that the cat died a few months later. "Word of mouth" advertising really is priceless. I have found that to be true again and again. Thanks for sharing and keep yourself safe! Randy
This is my first time ever seeing this dude and he seems like one of the most pure human beings I've come across. Moral to all of his stories.... it is important how we treat each other. Kindness pays dividends. Not to be confused with being taken advantage of though. August made the choice to come help for free, not to work for free.
Thank you for continuing to make these an adding more real life aspects of work and background. Watching your videos (and others -- tree guys with integrity and professionalism) is motivating to get out and work and helpful in guiding me in the details of what a professional job looks like to the customer..... now later today to go over those bowlines! (Patrick's Educated Climber method is not unsimilar I think, at least for the initial flip part).
You're not just that cats heeo... August. You're my hero! Now I'm trying to find a cat stuck in a tree.... Driving around in my bucket truck. Nothing so far. I'll keep ya posted!
That was an awesome video. I laughed so hard at the frayed rigging line comment. Loved seeing the struggle with the throw line. Great story at the end. All around great video dude.
Loved the video man! Cool seeing you back up in the tree. Love that even you have to watch videos for reminders and that the throw line has no master some days! Would love to see some of the in between steps on your next spur chunk down if you have the chance (moving your backup line, rigging line, yourself, etc)!
Can’t figure out why I’m only seeing some of these quality videos until now. But sure do like your explanations, demonstrations, wisdom and good testimony. “Made for this”...In more ways than one! Lots of people can do the job. Less can do it well. A few can show people. Small fraction can teach people. If I had to guess I’d say you have the “gift” of teaching and you do your craft well. Thanks for your efforts in this area...spreading the wealth of good technique.
Tied my bowline like that for years August, was shown that by an old Shetland islander when I was first at sea. Great video as always. Take care. 🏴👍😁
Your one of the Good Guys! It's in your body language, speech, the way you work with your employees. I'm sure your the same with your family and your customers. Yep, One of the Good Guys! Really look forward to your videos!!!
I said this before but you truly are a good person August! We all come different places in this world and some how can meet up on UA-cam and sorta get to know each other! It's awesome!
Thanks for showing us all the trouble fighting the throw line. So many good vids out there skip past all the goof ups that I thought I was doing it wrong! Guess it’s par for the course. 😆
"Cat Kung Foo" Lol, That's exactly what they do. Your instructions with the Bowline knot, were the same as my father taught me almost 45yrs ago. I taught that knot to all of my buddies when we were kids and is the best one to know ever, Imo. Great video, thumbs up !
You are awesome. I never thought I would spend hours and hours watching someone cut down trees. I’ve cut a few myself with a small battery operated chainsaw but you make the magic happen with how good you are. It’s amazing to watch someone who is so skilled with their craft.
I may try and sleep for the next day and a half just so Monday comes quicker, ha :) Now, I must watch the vid again as I’ve already forgotten - haha - not really :)
I have a pump just like that one for my mountain bike tires. You just keep making them better & better! 😊😁😀 Info, insights, cats...definately "how to & style"
Cool story awesome video. It seems we get a little to caught up trying to make money sometimes we forget that we are capable of service for people who can’t afford it.
I see you are showing that T-2511 some love. I wound up with the 193, mainly because the Stihl dealer had it in stock and the Echo dealer didn't. I narrowed it to those two because of you. Thanks. Oh...and BTW...I DON'T climb. It's not just a climber's saw. It's a limbing ground saw for us old farts. 😂
Tree ninja...lol...I always get something outta your vids...I could tie one handed, with a Lotta fumbling, and difficulty, before now, now you got me back on the one handed tie just seeing how you set it up, and explain it so well...thanks for that one!😉
Great tutorial! I prefer the orientation of the blue and white rope on the pole. Where the curve of the pole bends the bowline tighter instead of the example on the yellow line in the tree where the curve is breaking open the knot. I have never seen it matter, just an ocd rope user I am. Thanks for a great video and conversation. Be Well MB Crew.
YOu just showed how you are a success in business as you care about the people and treat everyone well as it isn't always about money as Good Will and even if you didn't get the jobs out of it then it made what you do worthwhile and a service to the people. I once tracked a job and thru the phone call after I got 26 jobs from that one call. So Never trust the companies that spend so much on advertising as they are the "One Shot Wonders" as the people will wonder why they ever called them as it all goes south and no matter the price they will be upset. So I appreciate the skill you show for a hobbyist like me as I give you mad respect. I'll stick to cleaning out peoples drains and plumbing work; as it's great leaving and feeling you helped solve the problem..
A nice old guy showed my Son 12 at the time how to tie a Bowline behind his back with his eye's shut . He spent a few days practicing the trick/skill I saw him showing many people over the years . Thanks August always worth talking about Knots it's a dying Skill !
August, great video! The editing is incredible - may have taken more time than felling the tree itself?!? Also thanks for the running bowline pointer. That is really slick!
I worked electrical line clearance back when I was a young man from about 1978 - 1990, and it was taut line hitches, bowline and running bowlines all day long.
doubledforge yeah I started in the taut line generation. Or maybe I was just behind the times when I started. I remember thinking the Blake hitch was a miracle when I learned it.
@@AugustHunicke Thank you for sharing your videos, they let me watch the work being done that I'm no longer able to do myself. Working in the trees was the most favorite job, I ever had. The equipment and techniques out there now are amazing!

August, you are one cool dude. 🤙 Good cat story. Goes to show you how a little good will can have such a long afterglow.
Keep it up.

Another great video August. Always love the stories and instruction.

Thanks August for showing us the super quick bowline. I will practice that. Glad the job went ahead and it went 👌.
Thank you so much for sharing you stories and showing your techniques.
Great tutorial of the bowline.
Love what you are capable of. Thank you.
Great to see Ronin got a days work ! Good man Joe for making the your-sling ! 😀 and Thank you for showing how to tie the bowline and running bow !
Nice to see you get back to basics. I am fascinated by the rope work and climbing.

Hey thanks. I learned a lot from this, way beyond running bowlines.

Thanks August. I like how you demonstrate the knots from different angles. Purrfect cat rescue story.
August your the man! Luv your no nonsense approach and attitude. Keep the vids coming!✌️
August! This tutorial was awesome!! Thanks from a Chimney Sweep in VA
That was an awesome video. I laughed so hard at the frayed rigging line comment. Loved seeing the struggle with the throw line. Great story at the end. All around great video dude.
Fantastic technique and explanation of the bowline!
Changed my life haha
Awesome video! Once again the sharing of a great story.

I agree, more of a raw video, less editing. I learned/learn a lot watching y'all, keep it up. 👍 I do what I can do in my area of the south.
Awesome story August. Love is free and it pays right.
when people call me about a cat rescue I jokingly say "have you ever seen a dead cat in a tree? " they usually will come down on their own.

Thanks for the bowline lesson. Never could catch it while you were doing it!
talk about appreciation, I'm grateful for the MB harness and all the entertainment over the years ..
It was a pleasure to come across your site this morning in my quest to learn how to tie a bowline!
Had a flashback to your original bowline video years ago. You still got it!!
OG channel viewer 🏆
I just came here to learn a running bowline but ended up watching the whole vid. Loved it man keep the great work 👍
i shall be changing the way I tye my bowline from now on ....great video Augustt...enjoyed the cat story too...
Love this video. Mind blown by the "rabbit makes the hole". You've officially changed my approach to the running bowline.
The car story was really nice! Obviously good karma followed good human practice! I love your tree work and equally love your commentary. Good stuff!
Cat
The way REAL tree work goes !

Tied my bowline like that for years August, was shown that by an old Shetland islander when I was first at sea.
Great video as always. Take care. 🏴👍😁
Ya I was taught by a fisherman on the sea, after I learned the old make a rabbit hole one. So much better.
Thank you for the nice cat story, especially.
Been using a one handed bowline for years doing stage rigging it came in really handy tying running bowlines up in the trees.
one of the paragons of a good business ... give of yourself and it will return 10 fold. semper fi brother love your stuff. stay safe
Good little story and your right when u can show good charter and give back people notice. God bless brother. Great channel.

This is the best quick bowline video I have seen, thank you!
Love that bowline lesson.
And I glad we have met cus of the channel man 👍🏽👊🏽✌🏽
That's the best explanation of the bowline and running bowline I've ever seen. Been using the rabbit method for 30 years!😂😂
Top video august nice to see you climbing again 👊👍
I'm an eagle scout and never learned how to tie it with one hand. Very good idea!!
I said this before but you truly are a good person August! We all come different places in this world and some how can meet up on UA-cam and sorta get to know each other! It's awesome!
Loved the cat story and how a good deed helped your business!
Bowline skills at best!

August you're getting quite a philosopher in your old age! Cheers bro.
Wonderful cat story! We love these animals so much sometimes.
Loved the bowline upgrade. "Boom! He was born outta the hole!". Aren't we all, brother.
🤦🏼♂️yeah, then spend the rest of our lives trying to get back in.

3:40 "I read you loud & clear August, from the sunny climes of Basel, Switzerland, have a great day, thank you! Over and out.“
Nope. Think about the meaning of your last bit. It's EITHER "over" (your turn, speak) OR "out" (I'm done, conversation ended.) Simple.
Got to love good Karma, it's great when it comes back around!!
We appreciate you too Mr. Can’t wait to dazzle with my bowline skills on Monday :)
gerbutt do it!!
I may try and sleep for the next day and a half just so Monday comes quicker, ha :)
Now, I must watch the vid again as I’ve already forgotten - haha - not really :)

L Schmidt “how to and style” LOL yep, finally got em both 😁
My cat says good job August.
The booms great for production but I've learned a lot from your climbing. Thanks for the videos.
Great quality video and a really interesting end story that proves kindness pays .
15:15 “well I guess that’s the end of that explanation…” 😂😂😂 love your sense of humor and knowledge! 🤘🏻 be safe brother

193 is more a saw than 2511 😁
Yeah its more of a direct comparison to a 150 than a 193.
Thank you bro, awesome way to tie a bowline and awesome vid
Good to see you still making video's.
Cool Video. I am a nut for knots. Just love trying. I tie the bowline the same way, it is a fluid motion. Thanks August
I don’t usually comment on videos but this is one of my favorites. Climbing and rope techniques are great. I don’t own a cat but that was nice too.
Your awesome, I like what you teach.
That's fast as hell Your an awesome teacher

Keep putting out videos August I learn something new in every one
Loved the cat story actually the hole vid cat story just topped it off 😁👍
Great cat story!
Cool video August thank you for sharing
Without a DOUBT,

awesome explanation, you just got a new subscriber here
not only does it add extra work but the added danger is worth the price increase if you don't like them :D great video the knot part really helped me.
LOL you should have titled this video "Down The Rabbit Hole:) Excellent video as usual August!
