On Christmas Day 1963, my friend and I were cruising up PCH on the way to C Street in Ventura. When we past Malibu we noticed it was 2 and 3 with only about 6 people in the water. We made a quick U-turn, parked and headed out. On the way out, everybody came in except one person. For about an hour there was only me and two other people surfing nice clean Malibu waves. How’s that for a terrific Christmas present.
I was there with my kids and could not stop thinking if only I could be surfing!!!! I was looking for you on the beach to say hi. I have a. 4 and 8 year olds they didn’t want to go on the pier. I could not believe the sets with no crowed!! Amazing

I've always thought that it would be worth the entrance fee just to get 20 minutes of nearly empty waves. These longboarders are loving it out there On the other hand, for more than 25 years there's been a group of hard core dawn patrollers with headlamps that surf Lowers in the pre-dawn hours. Now that's commitment to empty waves
In 1982-1983 I lived at the Sea Lion (those that know, know) and got 2nd/3rd Point with only one friend and the Sikh (drove a Mercedes wagon), alone for about 4 hours. Of course we were warned that we should stay out of water due to raw sewage leak, but we couldn't pass it up. I'm fine today, kak, stuprgh, retttygubber phhht.
Dam where I surf, your lucky to get a 5 second wave lol unless u go to snapper or noosa and that's probably more crowded than Malibu on pumping days lol
This past winter, on March 8, I was the ONLY person out in all of Surfrider Beach. Sunny weather, no wind... and great conditions! For snorkeling, that is! The surf was as flat as it gets, and only a few kooks on SUP's bothered me while I looked for trash and treasures on the bottom. Hope to get some more flat days this winter.
@@paulgross4789 yes it is , and I’ve had the board for at least 35 years and it has the original fin(plastic) . But unfortunately my buddy lost it to the rocks at South Birdrock and it is not to pretty! But the board is kinda indestructible .
20 something years ago me and this teenage chick and one kook . . There was a contest everybody went in for the awards who's in August that wasn't terribly crowded and it started going off me and this little chick you were just dropping in and there was a bunch of sand built up out there at second point for about 45 minutes it was just her and on that kid kept getting caught inside then they all started paddling out I'll never forget it yeah she could shred too she was in a longboard we were just owning it I don't want to say that was in well it was after 97 I know that but it was pretty cool over and out
I'm looking for a little bit more talent like some easy knee drop turns maybe a head stand or two some back wards surfing not thats talent lol doing better then them on the east coast New England style

I would think it is difficult to judge each surfer, same wave, noseride, cutback, noseride, cutback, floater, drop knee... etc...

Florida is like 5 to 12 seconds typically
so is Pipeline ...and many other so called 'world's best' surf pots.
