Thank you so much for this video. Just bought myself a larger torch and will need to use tanked oxygen for the first time. I will also be working in a set-up with other people where I want to bring my torch home at night, glad there’s an easy way to connect and disconnect it from the oxygen & propane tanks. This is very helpful🙏🏻
could you please tell me why you need a flashback arrestor for propane. Every source i found so far is telling me that you dont need an arrestor for burning propane.
Is that recommended to fix flash back arrestors to both cylinder regulator and to the torch ? please enlighten.
I’m new to glass (have taken a few classes and have somewhat of a mentor)- I just bought flashback arrestors (only need one for my propane because I have an oxy concentrator)- no propane is coming out of my torch when I turn it on. I hooked up the regulator to the propane, arrestor to regulator and propane line to that
Hi. It sounds like you attached it correctly Things to double check would be, Make sure tank is not empty. Make sure tank is open. Make sure pressure is set at 3-5 PSI. Propane hose needs to be attached to the appropriate end of the male piece of the quick connect and the quick connect needs to be securely clicked in. Hope this helps.
Did you have it hooked up at the regulator or at the torch head if you had hooked up at the regulator it's wrong they're supposed to be hooked up in between your torch head and your hoes not your hose and regulator if you install it in the wrong spot they won't work they won't flow in reverse
Do quick connects function as flashback arrestors, then, or are these special quick connects?
+Laura Heiman The Quick-Connects have internal reverse flow check valves. This prevents any gas that has remained in the line from leaking out when connecting and disconnecting the hoses, which is not that same as the flashback arrestor.
The Flashback Arrestor & Quick-Connect Combo is designed to go between the regulator and hose. They have the same reverse flow check valves as the Quick-Connects plus the added feature of being able to suppress any dangerous spark or flame before it could reach the fuel source.
Hopefully this helps. If you need more information you can go to our website and search for item# 199023 for theFlashback Arrestor & Quick-Connect Combo, and item# 1664 for the Quick-Connects.
Have a great day!
