Nosterdomus wrote about in the final persecution of the Roman catholic church would come Peter the Roman and the 7 hilled city would be destroyed. I think Nostradamus had a good understanding of human behaviour and society. Humans haven’t changed only technology has. History will continually repeat itself. So his predictions could be true now as they could have been within his contemporaries and his predecessors.

I believe Nostradamus's writings were vague enough that sooner or later some event would occur and a verse could be said to have predicted it.
This is plainly obvious, but people would rather believe a good story than the truth. He was no different than modern day "psychics" like John Edward.
i think he was a good story teller who understood that fears cripples humanity and took advantage of it. Fear of death, famine, plague and sickness always do preoccupy humans.
It would make sense considering it's believed he was a doctor during the time of the Black Death, so he was very familiar with it
Yet people that believe in all these fears also believe in God. They fear death but still believe in God. I never understood that.

Born Michel de Nostredame, in 1503 (probably December,) Provence, France. Died in 1566. Many siblings, but how many is unclear. They were a Jewish family. Pressure was to convert to Christianity, which the paternal grandfather eventually did do, joining The Roman Catholic Church. The Kabbalah was a book of Jewish mysticism which greatly influenced Nostradamus, especially by its apocalyptic nature. When he was 14, he went to Avignon University, one of France’s oldest universities (established 1303) heavily centered on grammar, rhetoric, and logic. His stay there was cut short due to an outbreak of bubonic plague. Therefore, Informally trained as a physician whilst moving around Western Europe. 1520’s he established himself as an apothecary in France.
1530’s - he began to emerge as a specialist in treating plague. Social distancing and quarantine become known as effective. He established sanitation, and the taking of fresh air, in order to fight plague.
Suggestion: A follow up looking at Delores Cannon’s supposed communication with him.

The depiction of him in the opening shot/thumbnail is scarily reminiscent of my old Organic Chemistry professor.
As a doctor, too bad he didn't know about apple cider vinegar the organic stuff, or cayenne pepper for that gout or edema. That stuff has worked wonders for my gout and edema. I'm so glad I wasn't born back then😅

Very good documentary. If you change his divorce to a divorce it makes more sense because that is what happened with Edward, he was forced to abdicate which allowed his brother George to become King. Makes far more sense that trying to link it to Charles.
Ambiguous and vague prophecies are similar to song lyrics.
The listener interprets the lyrics individual to them & connect the lyrics & melody to their own life situation (a break-up or death) intertwined with life experiences & emotions at the time they heard the song and its lyrics.
The best songwriters are poetic esp if they write nebulous/vague or deep lyrics but touch people in meaningful ways.

Well, honestly, predictions of wars, natural disasters, & other calamitous events is always a pretty safe bet. And hindsight is 20/20. When something momentous occurs, we can almost always find a suggestive quatrain in Nostradamus' writings that fits. In any case, "The People Profiles" has fulfilled my personal prophecy of another good episode.

I notice that when he reads the quatrains he tends to leave out the most impressive parts. For instance when referring to Charles De Gaulle he gets his name right to the letter. When referring to Nazism he uses the term "twisted cross" which is a strikingly accurate view of the Swastika. He refers to "strange pigman flying through the air" which, when you look at pilots in WW II with their oxygen masks they indeed look like "pig men". With regard to JFK assassination he did indeed say "an innocent dead will be accused of the deed" but he doesn't stop there he follows it with "the real assassin hidden in the misty copse" (the grassy knoll).
I don't think any of us has the ability to predict the future but I think Nostradamus is a lot of fun. It is interesting he converted from Judaism. He must have foreseen the Jews would have a hard time ahead of them.

Nostradamus had been discredited for centuries already. He had predicted that the world would end if Easter Sunday falls on the last week of April. It has happened many times but the world goes on.
I remember watching the Nostradamus documentary narrated by Orson Wells on HBO in 1981. As a 5th grader, I was fascinated and it played right into my Cold War fears about impending WW3. The show said that WW3 would start in the Middle East and a few months later the Iraq-Iran War started with the Soviets next door in Afghanistan...

That didn't cause WW3 though, it just caused conflict in the Middle East and even though a lot of countries were involved in it, it wasn't a "world war" since major super powers didn't engage each other directly.... The World Wars happened due to competition of Colonial Territory, the first one was over disputed territory in The Balkans, the second world war was due to the unfair treaty of Versailles from the first world war which led to Germany losing it's Colonial Holdings and effectively bankrupting the country, so WW2 was the Nazi's attempt at trying to restore the German empire and regain their Colonial territories hence why they had a campaign in Africa as well as Eastern Europe....these were called World Wars because they involved the global super powers of those times directly fighting each other on the battlefield... Since the development of Atomic weapons though we've been in a constant fluctuating Cold War, where Super powers do not directly engage each other but opt to instead fight by Proxy Wars by either directly or indirectly getting involved in conflicts that take place in developing or third world countries like Afghanistan, Vietnam, the Korean War and the numerous civil wars that happen on the African continent too and Eastern Europe... I do not think there will ever be another World War because of Mutually Assured Destruction between global super powers and the fear of Nuclear Retaliation unless we have a leader of a super power that is totally unhinged and insane and has no sense of self preservation and just decides to push the button

*Fun fact:* There is a pretty good 1994 movie about the life of Nostradamus and his prophecies, in which renowned actors such as F. Murray Abraham and Rutger Hauer participate. It's pretty chilling the scene in which Nostradamus instinctively pronounces the word "Hister" and paints an inverted Manji on a wall, not knowing what it means but fully convinced that it hides something purely evil.

I haven’t watched any films on Nostradamus but I’ve read his biography and it was brilliant, especially the parts about his prophecies, i never realised how many things he actually predicted

A much wider view over the life, academic acquisitions and "deliverance" this man of yester... was able to share. It's true he was "vague" in his so called predictions... and yet, they are also simply linked to events humans have known or personally seen in centuries since they were written.

Funny thing about Nostradamus is that his predictions aren’t subtle and more often then not very vague in wording, it’s more so people taking parts of his sentences out of context and putting them together to create a more subtle prediction which is ludicrous and wildly misleading because if you actually read some of the stuff he wrote, you would see that he doesn’t go into detail but rather predicts of things that have frequently occurred throughout history which he also wrote them in a very cryptic and creepy manner with little to nothing to go off of. It makes me wonder if it was a stroke of luck or stuff he’d seen happen through his time of living and any previously recorded historical events.
Yes of course many events can be read into most of his writings. However, the fact that he mentions London and Fire in the same sentence astonished me so I must admit he had to have known something.
Well, in his first two quatrains, he reckons that he had his tripod and wand set up going and he successfully invoked a flame, anointed himself with some water, and the ' divine genius ' sat nearby.
Any major city was subject to fire disease and ruin at some point of its existence, London was no different

Given his educated background and the fact that he learned logic, the classics and general history, the topics of Destruction, plagues and wars seem pretty straightforward. After all, Human history is filled to the brim with all.

The passage being linked to king Charles actually fits incredibly well with Edward abdication and King George who was never meant to be king.
Why not King Charles 3rd ? The newly crowned King is not of great health, the Queen has lungs filled with smoke, they live separate lives and karma is putting a stop to it once and for all 😡

The point at 39:39 is of interest because it could be applied also to interpretation of some of the more confusing Biblical prophecies. People are prone to mistakenly interpret them according to today's culture without knowledge of the context in which they were written and what phrases would obviously symbolize back then.

I recall tidbits of a past life where I died in a massive fire in London. I worked at an orphanage then and was trying to save the children from the fires but we all died of smoke inhalation. This was a memory I recalled via a meditation music video for past life recall/hypnosis recall video years ago. Not long ago, I had some smoke inhalation due to a wood stove incident and it reminded me of that. I've had worse deaths. The thing that was upsetting to me was the children dying...it's a sad memory more than scary. I can even recall a doll lying in the street near one child that I'd made for them during that life. I wasn't able to get them to safety. The smoke was intense even outside the building. It was billowing black wretched smoke.

Please do not ignore the song "Nostradamus" by Al Stewart to be found on his "Past, Present and Future" album of (I believe) 1974. He's a singer songwriter whose discography began in 1967 and has continued largely on historical topics up to the present day. Wonderful and educational for decades.

I liked the movie from the early 1980’s hosted by Orson Welles. He could make a menu interesting.
It is amazing how he was able to put his thoughts down in writing in his days but if Plato can do it in aprox 500 BC or Confucius in China apox 500 BC, then it is not surprising what he did in his days of 1500s, after 2000 years after Christ's writings in the bible, etc...so vagueness and common sense and readings of the bible and scholars of ancient books etc, can give him much incentive to do so! We must not forget Dante of Florence for example, especially when he did visit Italy and stayed in Venice...etc, etc, etc. Thank you for your video!

An earlier commentary on these writings said that he used previous configurations of the planets during a known event to predict a similar one happening in the future...the pattern of planets during Caesar's assassination resembled the ones happening during the shooting of Kennedy (?)...I haven't checked this, but presumably there's some app on the computer that does this sort of thing?

Loads of words that are precise at saying a nothing which serves as passe partout for everything.
What people often do is not taking all the words of a quatrain into account. They all have to match an event TOGETHER. If 1 verse is vague, then look at verse 2, verse 3, verse 4, it all has to match, and within a verse, also every word. I promise you it excludes all other events, with perhaps only 2 or 3 exceptions so far.

Certain patterns repeat themselves based on the laws of nature. I think Nostradamus had an insight into that and Astrology which is now indicating that the relationship of the planets to earth do have gravitational and other effects just like an eco system where one part effects and relates to another and influences the quality and action of each other part of the whole. We know nothing at this point about our universe in comparison to what we will know in the future and one day people will laugh at us for thinking all planets spin around the sun in a circle and in a particular way and order. What prophecy? The word itself has less vocabularic roots that the meanings given to the word itself. I thought some of 'it' was instruction culminating in unknown answers that you have to work out from what was the question of any given text he wrote. For you today it seems he has given you more advanced science to ponder than he asks himself. [... and the 1380s.] Blood letting prove sulphur as a remedy, in that letting was only a short timed operation and not lengthy and proven not to be that effective, so he down scales sulphur to rose water being better for the internal body system than rose mallow, very advanced for its day. 7 months the Great War refers to the Street Battles during the first of the French Wars of Religion from April till November 1562. It's not about WW3. I posted a video about it recently. Each prophecy is about one specific event and not that vague if you just apply rational thinking, like he asks you to do in the preface to the book. It's a word game and puzzle.
