Thinking that I was so far in my healing process.... but only to realize things can still trigger me at the drop of a hat, or key as it were... I am in another phase of the grieveing process. Im sad again. I have had a number of tearful days lately but nothing prepared me for the breakdown I had last night.
I realized that I am still healing from having to pout my pet down.
Some people may think that my sadness is unfounded but i assure you after spending nearly every day with a pet right by your side, teaching that pet to do more than most 3 or 4 year olds, you would realize that I have lost someone really incredible.
Talking about unconditional love.... our pets give us more than we could ever give them them. My process is slow, but I am accepting of it... here is just one more part of it.
Heal thyself.

I had to have my beautiful cat, Charlie, put to sleep on new year's day. I still don't think I've accepted he's gone. Personally, I don't believe we 'get over' losing a pet just like we don't get over losing a person. I just think we learn to adjust better to the pet/person not being there anymore. I know you filmed this a few years' ago but it continues to help others, so thank you :)
I feel your pain very deeply. I lost my beautiful kitty recently and am on an emotional roller coaster over her.
My doggy Rocco passed away 1 week ago and I knew I had to be in the same room by his side holding him when the doctor put him down. I knew it was hard for you to be in that room but I believe your dog would feel more comfort with you by their side during their last moments.
Thank you for posting this. I lost my cat very suddenly almost a month ago. I thought I was doing better, but now it seems I'm regressing and the evenings are very hard.
Did it get better with time ? I am sorry for your loss, losing your best friend is terrible. I lost my dog Black of sudden death a little more than one month ago and i am still thinking about him and all the things we did together and this happens at night often
Maybe your good day was a result of your beautiful dog watching over you. Again, so sorry for your loss I understand it's hard.
