yeeeeeees i do the same thing!!!!!!!!!!
After she said that, I thought "huh, I *could* do that." 🤔
I'm knitting a scarf for my cat and this helped so much! Thank you!!
Wonderful!
BRO SAME
Did your cat like the scarf? 🐈
😂😂😂
Omg thx!
I’m making a hufflepuff scarf and I got the SOFTEST yarn ever! Never switched colors before, just wanted to be sure I was going to do the stripes right!
i’m doing a slytherin hat !!
Yeeeessss Hufflepuff for life!
Im doing a slytherin scarf in some weeks i am soooo exited i am currently learning to knit by knitting a scarf rn. Its for my mom for Christmas ✌️
OMG same! My friends Bday is coming up and this really helps
I'm going to knit a Slytherin scarf for me, and the other house scarves for some of my friends! Mostly Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
I am a beginner. After trying two other methods & not being satisfied with how the wrong side looked I tried yours’. It had less steps, was easier & did not change the look of the wrong side. Your cheerful & positive delivery gives me the confidence to know “Hey, I can do this!”!
Glad it helped!
This also helped me so much as well
I just started knitting, and this is by far the BEST explanation and demonstration on changing yarn colors. Thank you!
You can also do this if you notice you're about to work your way into some severely damaged yarn (say because you bought cheap yarn like I did, R.I.P).
Cut it off, change into the same colour and keep going. :3
Hello Kristen, loving this video, changing yarn colours isn't as scary as it seems!
Happy making! From Wool and the Gang :)
Hi, +WOOLANDTHEGANG! Thanks for stopping by - Haha, so true! Happy knitting to you all!
WOOLANDTHEGANG I know you are a knitter I love the way you talk

Danielle Dubill if you live in the UK you can Get that exact pair from Hobby Craft. I've got them!
You can find lots of pairs like that on Amazon for a decent price.

Oh that’s so interesting I never even thought of that. I’m always so nervous that the loose ends will separate so I tightly tie the 2 yarn ends together and continue as usual. Never even been able to tell where the tiny knots are when I’m done but this is a great alternative!
After all this time, I thought changing colours would be difficult. This looks super easy 👍 Thanks
This was so helpful to watch I wasn't sure which side to have facing me when I attach the second new colour to keep it looking consistent now I know it's the right side not the wrong side
Hello Kristen, I am here to say that I am very inspired to learn how to change colors of yarn on a project that I am knitting for someone. I just want you to know that I am really pleased at the way you teach like you're having a lot of fun, and with your sweet laughter! Thank you so much for your great video! As soon as I get to the point of this project, I will watch your video again in order to learn how to change the colors on this project.
When you need to make Hogwarts house scarves for you and your friends! 🐍💚
I came back to this comment a year later, and my gosh I was not expecting this kind of reaction! You all are so lovely!
That's exactly what I'm doing!!
That's how I found this video 😅
Me too! I'm making a Ravenclaw one😊
I'm literally doing that right now I'm-
omg same im making a slytherin scarf for me and a hufflepuff scarf for my friend :))
Thank you for this video, I've been using it a lot this past year while working on my first few projects. It can be a long time between changing yarn, so I keep having to go back and re-learn how to do it, and this is just such a simple and easy-to-follow guide for that.
Thank you for showing me this color change. I just started knitting a week ago. I am crocheter and wanted to broaden my skills and I love both crocheting and knitting thank you again for showing us.♥️♥️🧶
Perfect! I'm doing a Furman pillow for my friend's grandma and now I can add the purple! 😄
Thanks so much for this! I learned to knit a week ago and this was so helpful! Just successfully changed yarn on my first try thanks to this video!
I thought this was going to be so hard and complex and I was stressing over it... but then I watch 1 minute of this video and I'm done. So easy! Thank you for your help!!

This is so simple and looks a lot easier than I thought it would. I am a bit of a novice, trying to gain more experience and learn new skills with knitting and love your videos.
Thank you Kristen! This is so fun! Now I feel comfortable with changing colors or adding more of the same color should I run out. You explain and demonstrate the technique so well. Thanks for making it so easy.
This is so helpful! I used to just cut of the yarn and tie it to another one, but this is just so much better!

Thank chu! I was knitting a glove but I cut the yarn too soon but this made me stop worrying, I love the way its so easy!
Ive been scared of this technique for years bc I couldnt find comprehensive instructions but now, almost eight years after I started knitting, I can! Thanks so much for your clear instructions and easy to see movements so I can now do what I thought was a form of black magic!
i know this video is 7 years old but thank you so much for this video!! I’m teaching myself how to knit with a book but the diagrams weren’t helpful and a lot of other videos were confusing😅 this video was straight to the point and it was easy to see what your hands were doing so i could emulate it. now to keep going with this scarf, thanks for the help!
Thank you! I’ve been knitting consistently for a few weeks and feel ready to take on a project. I want to do stripes. This was the most easy to follow video on here.
Thanks so much for sharing your expertise. I'm a new self-taught knitter and your tutorials are great!!
After 40 some years of crochet, I'm learning how to knit because my son has always wanted a Doctor Who scarf and I want to surprise him with it. Thankfully it's all done in garter stitch, and I was really nervous about the color changing. This is so much easier then I thought it would be. Thank you for such a great video.
Probably the best tutorial I’ve seen so far. Very easy to understand more than others I’ve seen.
ive been wanting to learn to knit for a long time (theres a few specific crafts i want to make for myself hehe), this is going to help with the scarf i plan to make !!!!!! thank you sososo much for posting this
Thank you for demonstrating this. I have been struggling with this for the past few weeks.
Thank you! I had looked at about 3 videos before this. For me, this was the clearest and easiest. Thank you for making it look simple!
I just started on my first knitting project yesterday and had to add more yarn and you video was very helpful thank you ❤

thank you! im a beginner knitter and found this video so helpful, i didnt realise it could be this easy! :)
I just found your video by accident. I will say that I love you energy. I just started to learn how to knit. I am currently working on a scarf with just the knit stitch pattern. I learned how to purl but I am not that comfortable yet. I am using Yarn Bee Sugarwheel for easy color changes. But now that I saw your video on how to change colors, I am not going to be afraid to try it once I finish my current project. I will now be subscribing to your Channel once I finish commenting. Thank you for this video.
This was great! I haven’t experimented with changing yarns too much because most videos were confusing, but this was really helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for that!! I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!! WOW!! Soooooo simple
Thankyou !!! You are a great teacher. I just finished my very first lap blanket.

You made it so easy!! I tried it and got it the first time around yay! ❤️❤️
Always looking for a new way to change or join yarns. Thanks for your version.
Awesome, +nyrockchicxx - Happy to hear it was helpful!!
Good video... the choice of colors makes it easy to see what's going on.
Thank you! I love this !!! I tried it on the blanket I'm making and it's perfect. I went in about 3-4 stitches from the edging and did your procedure and you can't even see it. I'm so excited because as a new knitter adding more yarn has been difficult and frustrating.
Wonderful, happy knitting to you!
Thank you so much for the video it was extremely helpful and easy follow I’m a beginner knitter and I’m currently following a knitted stuffed animal pattern and panicked when it said I had to change colours. Had no idea what to do. Thank you again. Xx
