No I don't think to. The flow isn't too strong in my opinion. I would just use caution if you keep small species. Anything neon tetra size or smaller I think could be a risk. More so from them getting curious than the flow pulling them in.
I've been looking for a nice filter for my 60S tank. I have 3 filters in it right now, but I just want one solid filter. I wonder if this would work out... This or the UNS Delta 30. Thanks for the review!!!
You're welcome and sorry for the delay on getting back to you. I think this could work for the 60s. I would keep an eye on nitrate and such to make sure it can handle all of your fish. The Dymax SlimFlo filter is one I've used that should be more than enough for the 60S if you like that look as well.
I have not set up any saltwater tanks so take my advice with a grain of salt lol. The official product listing does say it supports saltwater tanks though so yes I do think it will work for you 3 gallon.
Yes I believe you could. It has a small sponge in it. I think you could replace the sponge with filter floss. Possibly there might be room to place a thing layer of floss below the sponge too

Thanks for your review in this skimmer! Do you think the flow from it would be too strong for my 17 gallon rimless aquarium?

@@TheAquaticCoder I will check that out as well. Thanks for the recommendation!!
Do you think this would work in my 3 gallon reef tank 😁

So is it a skimmer or a mechanical filter?! I'm confused 🙃
It is a surface skimmer. If you had a very small nano tank it could be used as a mechanical filter too.
Can you put filter floss in this thing ?
