- There are some years where you just feel like phoning it in for the holidays. This is not that video. This is Jacques Pepin at his most skilled and thoughtful, preparing elaborate Thanksgiving dinner recipes with his family. This episode opens with Jacques' late wife Gloria helping to prepare the salmon appetizer while daughter Claudine assists with the turkey dinner and sides. Many friends drop in along the way and lend their expertise on everything from mushroom foraging to apple cider fermentation. True to form, Jacques peppers in pieces of wisdom throughout the video: why to cook the stuffing separately, why you should steam the turkey before roasting, how to bone fish, and more. The holidays can be stressful and filled with feelings, let the soothing voice of Jacques Pépin guide you through it.
Included in this video: Salmon appetizers (salmon tartare, herb-crusted cured salmon), chocolate bourbon prune cake, roast turkey with mushroom stuffing, butternut squash gratin, brussels sprouts, and more.

Is this the most wholesome video on UA-cam? There are also more (and shorter!) recipe videos, including mashed potato casserole and honey-roasted sweet potatoes, in the holiday playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL_PgxS3FkP7BmeKsJYmwmhblB3O-zpzAr.html
The answer? Yes, this is the most wholesome video. I really love Jacques and his daughter Claudine cooking together. I wish we can upload more full episodes of Jacques Pepin Celebrates. They are a gem!
@@QueennieMapula2000 Your wish is our command! There will be more throughout the upcoming year 🎉
Thank you so much for sharing these classic videos from pbs. I really appreciate all the Today’s Gourmet episodes you have shared. I would love to see the Cooking With Claudine series!
It's so lovely to see Gloria again. I hope she is resting in peace. You are missed.
This is the first time I have watched an episode with his late wife, Gloria. I am moved and touched! What a team they were.
From the bottom of my heart: Thank you, KQED. A reliable and comforting tether to sanity, civility, and inspiration for accessible culture & daily appreciation is just what many of us needed right now.🍷
What happened? I hope you're alright
Chef Pepin, I am a big fan I’ve seen a lot of your videos going back to you and Julia together but I have never seen this video of you and your lovely wife, she was a beautiful lady and together you prepared a feast that was good enough to taste through the screen. Rest in Peace Gloria , thank you Chef Pepin bless you and your family for making holiday menus !
I grew to watching Jacques in the early-mid 2000s. We didn't have cable growing up so Saturdays were spent watching cooking shows on PBS. He along with bbq University, America's test kitchen, Julia child's, everyday food, check please and sara moulton were all big parts of my childhood
We're still here for you!
Agree with you!❤
I am thankful for Jaques Pepin and this channel.
Thanks for watching!
Omg I’m so thankful for this old episodes. I wish life is always like this.
Ah, the lovely Lady Gloria! She's so serious, but lets out a giggle when Jacques 'forgets' his recipe. So glad they had each other. "I had a nap!" - Claudine
Jaques Peppin is a national treasure. What TV "cook" could prepare a Thanksgiving dinner like he has done. That cake was fantastic.
Aww such a perfect couple. Thanks for showing. ❤❤
Sweet Gloria. Blessing to Jacques, Claudine, Rollie and Shorey this holiday season.
What a classy guy. To me, he just never disappoints.
Gloriaaaa! Oh this is beautiful. 🙏🥁👑
Jacques Pépin’s Thanksgiving episodes are some of the best ever. Very comforting, watching him cook since I was a little kid. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this lovely video and the chance to learn from the best Jacque, it’s so lovely to hear his daughter call papa and see his beautiful wife, may she rest in peace. What a blessing to have such a talented chef as a husband and father.
I've made both the cured salmon and tartare. Both were outstanding. Thank you for posting these.
Gloria and Claudine, I love them!
Thank you for the nostalgic comfort, KQED! I am needing it today

I thought I had see all of his series 😮 But Gloria was Absolutely Stunning 😍 R.I.P. 🙏

Hu Everyone @ KQED And Chef Jacques Pierre And His Daughter Gloria Wishing You All A Very Happy And Healthy Thanksgiving Thank You So Much Sharing Your Beautiful Recipes And Videos @ KQED 👍👍❤️❤️
I think this is one of the few videos actively participated in. Jacques always says that Gloria was a better cook than he is. In his later Pepn Foundation videos, he always references how “this is how my wife preferred it.”
Yes he did he was in deep love with his wife
Is this his wife wow thanks for uploading we love the old videos
Jacques, Claudine, & Gloria did a Holiday video together: Christmas & Hanukkah food. It was the first time I saw Gloria.
Thanks for watching! We'll be uploading the other Jacques Pepin: Celebrates videos throughout the coming year. Stay tuned!
Lovely to see Gloria cooking with Jacques. I know she didn’t care for appearing on tv.
I hadn’t seen Gloria until now, I’m this video. She’s beautiful and looks elegant even in her casual clothes. So is Claudine. She is a joy to have around and she has her mothers voice . She looks more like her mother than her father. And Jacque… oh, he is a wizard in the kitchen.
I didn’t know he had lost his wife. That’s so sad… And now Claudine is his companion and his joy of life. Well, c’est la vie…🤔
Beau !
Love your vids
Many thanks for this, I love it! Has Jacques ever filmed a pumpkin pie recipe? I wonder what his take would be
He must have! We will investigate and find out 🕵
Wow. His daughter REALLY looks just like her mother.
Wow, Claudine speaks/sounds exactly like her Mom. If I didn't see the picture I'd think it was her.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
👍👍😋
