    Orange and lemon peels also make an amazing exfoliate. After they're completely dried I grind them into a fine powder and add citrus castile soap. Also makes a great deodorizer for your garbage disposal as mentioned in the video.

    I use them for everything you showed in the video, but I use them too for preventing my cats to climb to places I don't want them to be. I rub the inside (the white part) of an orange peel on the furniture, counter or whatever place.

    • @VisyVisyTV
      @VisyVisyTV 6 років тому +8

      No problem.
      Wash and peel one or two oranges.
      Bring to a boil about 2 to 3 cups of water.
      Then add the Orange peel let it boil for about a minute or less, turn the stove off, cover and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Add sugar of choice to sweeten, I recommend brown sugar.
      You can put some of the peel in your teacup or strain it.
      You can also prep the orange peels when you have them in season and use later, only difference, you let it dry for a couple of days, store it in a brown paper bag in a dry cupboard or perhaps in the fridge. If you wish I can make a video demonstrating the steps.
      Hope that was helpful.

      Yes your right it can be unsafe, I buy organic, and even then I scrub with natural lye soap or hard wood ash water and salt. Then I change the water and soak in salt water 30 minutes then I rinse real well. If that doesn't eliminate all pathogens my immune system will take care of the rest. You can do the same for unorganic,.
      Pestecides would not be the only thing I would be concerned about.
      We seriously live in a defiled world.
      Thank you for making that comment, I hope this helps .

    When dried up orange peels burn, they make the most beautiful BLUE FLAMES you will ever see and its essence invade the air and you wish it never ends. After eating an orange, let the skin dry up anywhere it will hang. Break a piece and burn it over the stove to make your house smell nice (only an adult should do this}. Grind it and add as a spice to meats, a pinch to smoothie, or let seep in a cup of hot water add a stick of cinnamon and some honey, it will settle your upset stomach. We shine leather shoes and bags with the ZEST.
