They both sound good, to my ear the Area 58 has a bit more sustain and fullness, just a little less treble. Close to the end 1:39 ish demonstates this.
I dig them both but I think the V-Mod is a little better with a tad more power. I like powerful single coils, but not too powerful like a Quarter Pounder.
At least you should have boosted the vol of the guitar in the mix, I like hearing the mix, but it was loud, as long as you do some sections where the mix drops out for a few bars then it’s good
Aren’t the V mods true single coils? That’s probably why. The Areas are stacked and will be much quieter (no 60 cycle hum). Depends on use. If you need a more overdriven sound full time, the areas are the way to go.

Do you get noise with the V-Mod? I have the N3 on my Deluxe, want to change for V-Mod but I use high gain, I'm afraid it to be have lots of noise.
