The fact he raps about all his insecurities and deepest thoughts I don’t know rappers that are brave enough to openly express that let alone normal people
Lot of rappers talk about their personal demons and stuff like that. Eminem been doing it lol idk why everybody acting brand just cause hop doing it. Hell hopsin been doing rapping bout his life and insecurities. I just feel like on this track, he goes into more detail. But very dope song with a solid message. Great song to bring awareness to mental health
Takes a brave man to pour his fears and deepest emotions from private life on a track and share with millions of people. Thats why HOPSIN IS THE GOAT. One love ...part about the kid really hits hard...
I was also thinking schizophrenia in a way, but a very mild case. Now that I think about it, lots of mental conditions have the side effect of uncontrollable thoughts and self-doubt. I relate to this song as well being a recovering drug addict. The brain plays sick tricks on us sometimes that can be near impossible to control. The quote near the end of the song was very nice to hear- we can learn a lot from middle eastern ways of thought and spirituality. I wish you nothing but the best, brother, and hope that you can find relief in the small things.
Hopsin is a Genius M/V creator. He is also a great lyricist. In this video he perfectly embodies what its like for someone who lives in there head and also someone who battles themselves on a daily basis. He also shows how damaging overthinking, depression, and comparing yourself to others can be; all while telling his own story. I love it. Hoping you and Em can collab one day!
True story: I went to go see Hopsin and FV perform in Minnesota years ago. As an aspiring rapper and a HUGE Hopsin fan, I met him and the crew and they all signed my microphone. During the show they let a couple guys up on stage to rap and he called me up there. When it was my turn, I was so nervous, all my verses escaped me, I choked and got boo’ed by the entire venue. I’ll never forget, Hopsin looked at me and said “that’s reality man.” That sticks with me. Hop, if you’re reading this, know that I am someone personally inspired by you and success is relative. You are the man in my book! Love from WI
The last message is important for everyone that struggles with OCD and intrusive thoughts: "What I'm thinking, what you're thinking is not the important thing We're alive right now, that is the important thing It is important that you focus on this fundamental sense of aliveness within you And then you'll see there's a natural distance between you and your thought process Once you create a little space between you and your mind, between you and your body, this is the end of suffering Don't identify any thought as negative, because it's just a thought Who told you it's negative? It's just a thought, you're making it up Maybe you like it, what's the problem? If you understand it's just a thought, it has no power If you think it's a reality, then it destroys you"
That's a phrase from a spiritual guru, "sahdhguru" highly respected spiritualist and practioner of the yogic sciences. Definitely check him out👍🏾 forgive me if I spelt his name wrong but you'll find him either way.
Exactly, once you realize it is just a thought, and start questioning and flip these ideas on their heads, they lose power over you! When my thoughts go dark, I start thinking in antonyms. It kind of makes me sound crazy if I start talking when in these moods, because I start reversing sentences, but it's what I have to do to cope with living with my hyper-aware consciousness.
I was amazed with his acting in this video. I was saying to myself how I wish other artists embodied their own music videos like this man does. To me, I feel hopsins passion as I see him act. Because of that, I can better live vicariously through his music.
I'm one of those weird white kids (though definitely not a kid anymore). I appreciate how open you are with all of your emotions and how you put your heart into all of your lyrics and don't try to put on some persona. Thank you for everything you've ever done, Marcus.
But you DO understand how that line is him telling you that when the chips are down, and pretenses are disposed of, that he resents you right? If someone says "I love my fans" and in the next breath says "but I always thought that I deserve better than them" you should believe them.
@@cameronyoung9362You can both appreciate people while resenting them. It's more his insecurity of other people's opinions of his fans being weird white kids.
@@writerwannabe8778 This, hopsins appreciation for his fans is well and thoroughly documented. If I created a piece of media that was only enjoyed by furries, while I have no problem with them, I'm sure the way everyone would always be pointing that out would get to me
@@anow2 I don't inherit another mans battle simply by saying "someone shouldn't ask you for your time, money, or support, when they resent you for the color of your skin" or "if someone tells you they resent you for the color of your skin, believe them" Those are objectively true statements and stand on their own. You could stand to do with not making other peoples battles your own while you are at it. That is, assuming you mean what you say?
Homie really showed himself in this video. I've been following since Ill Mind, Hop will always be a goat for those of us that actually lived in the trenches. That section 8, coming from fucking dirt and sprouting from it. I'm glad dude got out from under Funk Volume, Hopsin on his own is a great artist. I wish independent music came up sooner
i use this writing as a way to escape cause i got a lot of build up emotion and things to say that i cant express to your face i pray everything will be okay god please take me away and let my soul rest peacefully - just a piece of something i wrote
i still love this song; takes balls to dive into your mind so authentically and genuinely, and put it all out there in a music video and song. always been so raw, relatable. i'm thankful you're still making music for everyone who can relate to even just a line of your lyrics. that kinda honesty and transparency is rare in rap, but few people do it great and you're one of them. just keep being you, you don't have to be anyone for anyone
Sadhguru's words at the ends literally gave me goosebumps, such a brilliant way to end the song, woaaaahhhh 💥 this song really shows how greatly Sadhguru has impacted hopsins life and brought him out of his bad time, this। is truly inspiring, this can be helpful to so many people out there ✨🙏

Your purpose is to make a change in someone's life. One person can change 24, 48, 96 lives. It's the small steps by everyone realizing change is inevitable. It makes a massive difference.

GSE x Hopsin collab
Hopsin is truly one of the most real rappers left… Glad to see he’s doing better now! This one hit deep.
The fact he raps about all his insecurities and deepest thoughts I don’t know rappers that are brave enough to openly express that let alone normal people
Andy Mineo - You can't stop me.
Now you know 2!
NF started the trend of rapping about his insecurities, anxiety’s, and fears..... but Hopsin is real too.
@@joegeneva4539 this had to be said
@@joegeneva4539 Lmao what? No he didn't. Rappers been rapping about these things since the 90's lmao.
One love
...part about the kid really hits hard...
Tbf he's far from the only rapper who's willing to go that far into themselves for a track

Where hell is Alfredo to approve of this?
TOP NOTCH 🤘🏿👅🤘🏿 y'all my favs too
To come out with a song like this is PURE talent. Real Emcee work here.
Also not just that but a lot of courage to be so open about his mental health to the whole world and just put it out there.
Bro, you nearly put PTSD in a song. This can be felt to the core by this soldier.
Thank you for your service 🙏 ❤
This ones gonna take off. It’s like a movie!

He said he no longer thinks this way. These are songs he wrote in his dark times
He's just being real. A lot of rappers wont go there
My favorite rapper is Mr. Tumnus, I think you're mistaking his name, it ain't Hopsin.
Because of Eminem i dont Think anyone Will be the New Goat. BUT when Eminem dies he Will be the GRA.
@lapis Wxlf hahaha you got it!
That's a killer ending with Sadhguru's Voice at the end.
Thank You i was just asking myself who that was at the end.

❤️ love Sadhguru....his videos helped me a lot and is still helping even now
True story: I went to go see Hopsin and FV perform in Minnesota years ago.
That's awesome. What an experience!
Long story short: His palms are sweaty, knees weak arms are heavy, there's vomit on the sweater already, mom's spaghetti

You are appreciated my brother don’t ever compare yourself to anyone. We accept you for you and thank you for being yourself and never switching up
The last message is important for everyone that struggles with OCD and intrusive thoughts:
"What I'm thinking, what you're thinking is not the important thing
We're alive right now, that is the important thing
It is important that you focus on this fundamental sense of aliveness within you
And then you'll see there's a natural distance between you and your thought process
Once you create a little space between you and your mind, between you and your body, this is the end of suffering
Don't identify any thought as negative, because it's just a thought
Who told you it's negative? It's just a thought, you're making it up
Maybe you like it, what's the problem?
If you understand it's just a thought, it has no power
If you think it's a reality, then it destroys you"
What is this from?
@@ChairmanMeow1 Did you even listen to the song?
That's a phrase from a spiritual guru, "sahdhguru" highly respected spiritualist and practioner of the yogic sciences. Definitely check him out👍🏾 forgive me if I spelt his name wrong but you'll find him either way.
@@johnfalkiner4632 I mean whats the source of that quote smart ass, the original source.
Exactly, once you realize it is just a thought, and start questioning and flip these ideas on their heads, they lose power over you! When my thoughts go dark, I start thinking in antonyms. It kind of makes me sound crazy if I start talking when in these moods, because I start reversing sentences, but it's what I have to do to cope with living with my hyper-aware consciousness.
this has to be the absolute best choreographed music video i've ever witnessed in 2021, and nobody topping this.

Hop is an underrated actor. He also seamlessly injects his personality into what he’s doing. Amazing ass work
I was amazed with his acting in this video. I was saying to myself how I wish other artists embodied their own music videos like this man does. To me, I feel hopsins passion as I see him act. Because of that, I can better live vicariously through his music.
that's because he used to be an actor, there was a show he used to cast in back in the day.

If I created a piece of media that was only enjoyed by furries, while I have no problem with them, I'm sure the way everyone would always be pointing that out would get to me
@@cameronyoung9362 That's his battle, don't make it yours too.
You know for a fact Hopsin just opened up his diary and turned his entries into bars, so honest and authentic
The only cringe white kids like him comments is sad but true. That’s hopsin personality when he’s so much more

i still love this song; takes balls to dive into your mind so authentically and genuinely, and put it all out there in a music video and song. always been so raw, relatable. i'm thankful you're still making music for everyone who can relate to even just a line of your lyrics. that kinda honesty and transparency is rare in rap, but few people do it great and you're one of them. just keep being you, you don't have to be anyone for anyone

I am writing to you today as a huge fan of your music. I have been listening to you since your first album, "Gazing at the Sun", and I have been blown away by your talent and your message.
I love the way you use your music to talk about important issues, such as the state of hip hop, the importance of education, and the need for social change. Your music is thought-provoking and challenging, and it has helped me to see the world in a new way.
I am also glad that you are still on top. You are one of the most talented rappers out there, and you deserve all the success that you have achieved.
I would like to thank you for your music. It has inspired me and helped me to become a better person. I hope that you will continue to make music for many years to come.
