- This monster Uno Turbo lurks in Johannesburg, South Africa. Built by an enthusiast who owns two of them, it is one of the most powerful Uno Turbos in the world.

Marcello Massia owns a Fiat Uno Turbo, but his wife bought him another one. That's quite a Christmas present.
The car was in relatively poor shape though, the previous owner abandoned the project after the engine exploded. It turned out that it just blew a gasket, so after replacing that and making a couple of tweaks, and with a good tune, the car is now running very nicely indeed.
With a 1.6-litre 4-cyl sourced from a Fiat Palio, this is not the easiest car to modify, but Marcello's love for the cars has pulled him through, and now the car should run low 11s on the quarter mile.

Was my dream car when I was a lighty. Came home with approved financing for my parents to sign surety at 18, 19 and 20 years old - my old man refused. At 21 years old I came home with a light metallic blue 1995 model. What trip down memory lane 🖤
Many moons ago i use to own an Uno Turbo heavily modified 1.4 pushing 239kw on the wheels and 415nm at 2.7Bar. Crazy times but times i will always remember and treasure.

I used to be able to dice 1600 Polo's with my 1.4 Uno Mia... (I still dice Polo's just for fun though-) Oh the good old days - when a car was honest, like the Uno - honest, simple car, no frills, just pure driving pleasure (if you are doing it right of course :-) ) Ferrari red with black bumpers, the car was washed every week and polished every other week - it looked perfect in that red guise. I miss the simpler days. But this is amazing - I will keep an eye on the next project!
So true,bought me a 20k overpriced 1.4 pacer and it smokes a tiguan r line from 1st to 5th past makro ottery old strandfontein road and its just u and the car but 60 thou pistons only differenceto stock and not even fuel injected has 52kw and 110nm for a 96. When I can ,I am going to buy a turbo or the motor at least and have a 5 door one day 🤑😅 .

Would it be 3 cylinder turbo?

Later in the Daihatsu charade a 1l 12v turbo with 105 hp.
And yes thare is for a Daihatsu charade 1l 6v turbo diesel engine.
that 1600 fiat engine is not the easiest engine to work with am curios as to how you guys got it to work so well in the uno.Great cars, great builds.I will definetly visit venturi with my fiat strada 1.6 soon
