Tully ... most of the post-race interview was the jockey expressing thanks to the trainers, owners, strapper, etc so your question is somewhat redundant.
Tully the jokey’s job is to give the horse the best opportunity to win, so getting them into a good position and knowing when to save energy etc... they don’t just sit there and hold on lol
She had a little bit of luck when that gap opened in the straight, but she had already steered the horse off the fence to take advantage of the gap. Damion Oliver couldn't have done better.
I just saw "ride like a girl", at first I was praying it's not one feminist propaganda movie. Then, I got into it, teared up when she thought her dad died. Then, when she burst through that space, I went bonkers!! I had to watch the last 600m of the race several times...Lol, and was freaking proud of her as she passed the other jockeys!!! What a great moment!! I was very proud of her, I just wonder how proud her family would have been, just incredible!!!
