Great video, I think many folks see it as the very cut and dry of $ vs $ but I do feel like there's a lot more to it than that, loved the video though and really interesting to see more background on Twitch earning splits 👍
Thanks again for making the post! When it's directly linked like that, it really illustrates strengths and weaknesses (with the major weakness being Twitch's frustrating and destructive ads experience).
Always appreciate the in depth analysis Zach! I think this just goes to show that UA-cam remains as a strong eco-system for content, but not just if you're focusing on streaming. I am still planning on streaming on Twitch for the forseeable future and expanding my short and long form content efforts but this isn't my main job so unless the scales (and my audience) tip drastically towards favoring youtube I'm happy with my current setup.
As the meme goes... "Why not BOTH?" Some people I follow have most of their streams on Twitch, but also do occasional streams and post most content both shorts and highlights on UA-cam. Some of them are fortunate enough to be partner on both place. While solutions are not cut and dry, the trick is have content on both places. And if that streamer is partner in both, much better! (Best case scenario, it can also happen that the streamer is still affiliate on Twitch, but partner here)
great video, love the set updates too! @bobducknweave did an amazing job on the infographic. For people who stream as a hobby cool keep doing what they are doing, but for anyone who does want to take streaming professionally, at this point with all the information we have access to, its foolish not to be invested on more than one site.
Haha - the plant! And yeah, that's my general takeaway. I don't ever imagine a world where Twitch Ad revenue is going to surpass UA-cam. VOD discovery plays such a key role in the long term ad revenue build.

oh Damn now we got a tree in the studio!!
The aesthetic is moving on up baby!!
Studio aside, as always great video and amazing info Zach!
Step by step!
Another great video! Will be checking out the wall for any easter eggs you may or may not leave
Hahahaha, oh man I'm going to have to be clever with it.
Great video Zach! UA-cam was already going to be my focus for 2023, and this is definitely good motivation that I'm in the right mindset
Yeah! That's also been my motivation this year as well - lots of time and investment in creating here. The hardest part is starting!

Definitely - the idea situation is having the content here be monetized. Takes a bunch of content to get there though! Haha.
