- Hey folks! In today’s video we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. As I was scrambling to get a build set up this run, a well-time Baseball Card off of a Wraith finally provided some clear direction before some of my favorite Uncommon Jokers showed up to help complete the build. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

Bye folks, in yesterday’s book were gone with less bronze stake ortalaB, as I was taking my time to get a build set up last run, a horribly timed Pokémon card off of a intellectual pack eventually didn’t provide some unclear direction after some of my least favorite legendary jokers didn’t show up to help ruin the build. Don’t enjoy the book.

I would write a generally mid and probably unoriginal joke comment that gets a mild puff of air out of someone's nose, but i just wanted to say its really nice to be able to have more content from roffle that interests me. After falling off the hearthstone wagon, falling directly onto the balatro one is nice!

This run was looking bleak early round, but somehow you made it more than workable. Truly the John Balatro of the game.
I know it's kind of a running joke but it makes me feel sad when people say that they sleep with your streams / videos and you reply with thanks for using them for their intended purpose

The vods are entertaining, but Roffle's generally calm demeanor combined with how hypnotically relaxing Balatro is as a game makes it insanely good content for people that can't sleep in silence.
Asleep people can't turn the vid off halfway, and these videos are looooong, so the average watch time is gonna be fuckin nuts. Truly is the best case scenario for a content creator

I enjoy listening to these while I work. I'm currently trying to get through gold deck black stake, and learning from Roffle helps me get there. There are plenty of strategies I never would have thought of that he uses that work way better than I thought ever could. Keep it up super dude!
TTS and chat always says they sleep to your streams, but you've genuinely fixed my attention span, I sit on my desk and do nothing else other than watch the video. This is new to me.

I got one of these on gold stakes yesterday and managed to win with a straight flush build of all things. I had Seance and Four Fingers. It felt like magic and kinda was thematically.
Just wanna say that I love these videos sm, I'm a huge Balatro fan and long gameplay videos like these are fun to watch. Keep it up!!
Baseball card has helped me so much to finish ante 8 at gold stake (Though for endless he falls off most of the time)

The start of this run is literally how any of my higher stake runs go. I am stuck in some terrible position, trying to get anything, but literally having no mult is just like impossible to work with in the beginning, so I’m basically stuck just like having an awkward build I’m not happy with so I reset
Oh but I don’t get jokers like baseball card. No I get Wily Joker for the 5th time while rerolling. And I can only reroll cuz I have like three econ jokers and LIKE FREAKING SPARE TROUSERS
in another video, you mentioned not wanting to redo the tier list cause it takes forever, however, you can probably break it up into pieces like 'tier updates/retrospectives' for single jokers like red and chad, you can just ramble about them for 5 minutes at a time and rescore the outliers
he also mentioned not wanting to do it because labeling jokers as good or bad is a bad lens to view the game from if you’re looking to get better, as everything is contextual. not very contentpilled of him frankly

4:18 im actually surprised because i did jokerless the other way around, that is getting 1 or 2 levels on big hands early for score while building for massive high card power with lots of steel card and gold cards, but i guess my build would only work with tarot luck and telescope, which i happened to get on my winning run

I did a run today black odd plasma deck. I had the bull, the boot, stonks, the joker that gives +4$ at the end of round and to the moon early like the boots is the only one i had late everything else i had ante 2 and i went back one ante and to the moon had already upraded at ante 1. Bull was eternal and negative fron the shop early. Didnt go far in endless but i had money and doing ante 8 with only high card. At the end beating a blind was giving something like 70$
3/3 to 0/3 on Spectral. I believe a certain deck would say that's "Balanced."

Why didn't he play the straight flush to level it up at 18:41? Is pair a better hand to do so?
Pair is a much easier hand to make so if you level it up a lot you can consistently get good base chips and mult on a very accessible hand. So although straight flush is a higher scoring hand by default, it’s very rare to get so it’s usually a better strategy to level up whatever hand you can easily make or whatever fits your build the best I suppose.
