My brother suffered a massive stroke, he flew airplane’s, was a chief engineer on a private yacht, traveled all over Italy….I visit him several times a week, he is now in an Assisted Living, has no insurance, waiting for SSDI. I will fight for him, he was an amazing brother & friend ❤️
I had stroke two weeks ago.. affected my right side..I'm walking and everything has come back..but legs tire quickly..it's nice to know that your not alone..god bless us all
I had a Hemoragic Stroke in December 2017. It has taken me so long to recover. I drive again, work PT, got married. My Stroke damaged my short term memory only. No physical effects.....it's horrible but I have survived. Very long recovery......

my stroke was oct 21st 2021. sitting here i can relate to everyone but my fatigue kicked in and i fell asleep through the video and had to repeat it. tapping away on this keyboard with my right hand before my eyes shut on me again. best wishes to all

First of all, I want to say how truly BLESSED all these ppl are to have recovered as well as they have. They can talk and express themselves. My husband's stroke was massive and he laid on the floor for 3 hrs. before I got home. It was another hour until the ambulance arrived and transported him to the hospital. HE TRULY should not have LIVED. He did. He gets emotional very easily. He lost his speech, ability to read and write. He recovered his ability to walk. He should have lost the vision in his right eye, hearing in the right ear and should have drop foot. Prayers were a key factor in his recovery. He can't tell you how it's impacted his life. He can't even remember when it happened, which is probably a good thing. But, he can tell you he met Jesus on the floor! A stroke changes everything in your life. The best thing you can do is make an assessment of what you've got left, start building from there and move forward. But, it also takes someone who really loves and cares about you. I hope all of you have that! I feel it may be the most important thing!
You are right, if you have someone who cares for you it's a big help. So pleased your husband came to know Jesus through this terrible trauma .
One of the worst things for me has been the lack of professional care and support. I'm so blessed to have a caring husband who looks after me.
I had a stroke back in February of this year and it's been really hard but listening to everyone's story really helped a lot thank you
it is wonderful that these people harecovered.i lost so much. my daughter used to be my best friend and now I am pretty sure she resents me. We live in the same house, but she only comes in my room if she really has to. she just had another go at me and stormed out. I cannot answer a question quivk enough and people think I am ignoring them. sorry to bring this out via you tube, but I cannot work out how to leave a comment on the facebook page and I donot know how tomake an account
Try not to brood on anything. It helps when you keep your expectations from others at the barest minimum. That way life is more meaningful. Stay positive and put your trust in God.🙏

I had one two weeks ago. Post Covid. Loved the Scotsman’s accent!
Wish they’d revisit these people to see how they are now nine years later or 10 years later. I suffered a stroke back in December and I don’t see any point for the future. I know people have it far worse but there’s a feeling of emptiness and darkness that I’m trying to overcome. I have my speech all I need to do now is be able to walkLike a normal person or almost like a normal person. I use a walker at the moment, for some reason I fear the cane, just the sound of it makes me sad even the sound of the walker, very debilitating lol
I had a stroke on Dec 2019.Im still weak and easily tire out.I can't speak well still,I sound drunk all the time 24/7 relentless drunk feeling and its getting me down so badly.I wish I could get rid of this drunkness,it's like I'm being suffocated 😭
Physically all my left side is still weak,my eyes are very sensitive to light now and I choke a lot complications from stroke.Can't sleep well and get emotional about the most trivial of things,like killing a fly has become too much guilt.
How do you get rid of drunken feeling pls help.
Hi. I have only just found this site. I had my stroke December 2020 and things aren't that good for me either. I have to keep pestering the doctor to try and get some help. Have you managed to speak to anyone regarding the drunkenness? It's hard when you don't get any professional help. I pray that you are feeling a bit better now...
@@suehopkins8 Hi Sue,there are so many different strokes that finding the best method to recover is hard to answer.
What I broadly recommend is getting exercise if you can.Not going to the gym kind of exercise lol,I mean,walking gently for 30 mins a day,everyday.Regulate your activities on a timescale having a regular routine.This helps your mind retrain remember,recover and wears you out so that you can sleep better.Don't go to sleep until your knackered.Eat well,I find eating good meats help as it builds your shrivelled extremities lol.

@@suehopkins8 Hi Sue, are you taking blood pressure medicine? I was on Ramprill and it made me dreadfully/dangerously dizzy. Stopped taking it and haven't had an episode since. I'm almost 2 years post hemmoragic stroke by the way.
It takes time for our brain to process information

I've had ben diagnosed with Aphasia since March 2022 ..I think.
I've had other strokes btw.
I'm so lonely. Nobody understands.

I had a stroke, I'd suggest that you don't just printing the words - reading them is hard because I had a stroke. I'd suggest that if you make these films, relieving on reading them is tough for a stroke person
I had twelve strokes. My diabetes was misdiagnosed by 48 GP's, two physicians, two dermatologists and a top oncologist. I don't have mentionable medical care. Frustration runs high, as I have Afib, ataxia, aphasia and more. People around me, some with PhD's, are idiots who think stroke is cured in a week like the common cold. A leader in Parliament ridiculed, berated and belittled me for having lost much of mh executive functions. The Honourable Idiot has no mind.
The one thing I hate to hear since my stroke fromppl is it’s going to get better from fucking ppl who have no idea. Ohh it’ll take time. Time for us stroke patients is a painful thing. Sometimes I wish I had died I don’t want to live like this

I sometimes wish I just didn't survive.Lying on the floor,I had a feeling of warmth,calm and no worries at all when my stroke happened.It was like the effects of having 10 pints of beer in one go.I couldn't get up,so I lay there in a kind of mellow state.Now I'm on tablets for complications of stroke and the side effects make me want to seek out the nearest heroin dealer,buy a load and jack the lot.
The same kinds feeling I guess but with no return.
@@Brittunculi Exactly the same for me, I'm a single parent so, it was purely the thought of leaving my son alone that envoked me to shout and scream until a nieghbour eventually heard me. Otherwise I would've been quite content to go to the other side. Now, 2 years on, stil massive defecits, pain, spasticity, paralysis, mental health issues etc. They're great at saving your life, but what life? Mine's a big bottle of Vodka and a couple of handfulls of Diazepan. Easier to get hold of and probably more effective.
Don't think much intellectual loss; only mild limp.
