Does anybody remember when Daniela was on Every Witch Way and Wits Academy???? Cause in those shows, it was Daniela’s character Andi who was the best friend to the future leader of a magical realm wanted to be her guardian so she went to school for it!!! And I’m finding it really ironic now that the roles for her are reversed.

The person who seems to look the least like their character is the actress for Lissa (Danielle I think) since she’s tan, brown hair, and brown eyes.
Omg they are so thoughtful and respectful to the fanbase like ughh the only horrible thing about this reboot is Julie plec, fricking solid cast just not Julie plec .I mean the fact that our rose is a fan of the books and the movie it's just wonderful atleast Julie did something right.
Something right for now.. the only successful show i can say she did ok was tvd and she still f the ending up same with TO , legacies was just horrible . They should of gotten the writers for supernatural instead, that show lasted more than 15 years .

I think what will save us hear is that Sisi is such a huge fan of the books and know the story and characters so well, and all has admitted to having a very Rose like personality so I feel like is at any point she feels the show going in a direction that isn't good and isn't true to the characters and to the essence of the story there will very likely be some push back from her especially I could even see her going full Rose Hathaway on them until they fix it and I mean what are they going to do she's playing one of the lead characters and agruable the most important character in the show with out a Rose there is no show and it's not like they can replace her especially once they are farther along in the show.
I hate that this cast is amazing and perfect but I know Julie is gonna ruin the story and change very important plot points and character personalities
Julie is great at conceptualising shows but then they go off path and morph into something fans don't want... I sincerely hope this doesn't happen with Vampire Academy! It has so much potential... I'm really enjoying it so far!
Christian is done SO WELL, but the rest I’m just sighing 90% of every episode lol. She keeps taking books, making them into shows but not staying true to the books and creating a legion of new fans that keeps the show going but the fans of the original books are left behind. Like how she obviously trying to create a dimitri/mason love triangle with rose and for anyone that’s read the books, it’s laughable. It’s doesn’t have to be exact, the plot for the dhampirs in episode 4 and 5 doing the challenge was interesting and new for book fans, I guess. But they haven’t really explained anything about rose and lissa or showed how close they actually are and have made zero progress. 🙈🙈
The interviewer and actors saying they loved the movie version says it all. Casting was amazing apart from dimitri but the movie itself? It was cringe for all book fans.
Definitely love the diversity but I would’ve loved if they kept the Russian accents. POC can still have Russian accents! Just like they can have British accents. I’m wondering if Julie Plec just prefers the British accent. Cuz I didn’t read the vampire diaries books but I heard from fans that the original Elena had different ethnic origins and if the original vamps in the series were Vikings as they were implied to be, then they should’ve had a Scandinavian accent not British. I know they wanted to include Nina’s Bulgarian origins which is fantastic but idk. I think vampire academy is probably the one series that I’m particularly passionate about. I haven’t seen the series so I can’t comment but it really bums me out they lost the Russian accents. Andre's comment is mind-blowing to me "no Asian vampires"?! Korean and Japanese TV shows are FILLED with vampires and other supernatural creatures!!! All it takes to get that exposure, is to look outside your own country and own language. I'm Danish and nobody in Denmark makes vampire movies, so all my childhood/teenage vampire shows and movies were in a different language as well. It's natural for most of the world to find shows and movies outside of your own little bubble and globally, the representation is there. I don't mind this cast. The diversity is great. Just that single comment is silly to me.

For years, Asian shows have been subtitled and made available for a global audience - just like non-english speaking countries get access to subbed American shows. It seems to me, he meant "in English" or "in America", which is silly, because a show is not worth more/more important just because it's from the US or made in English.

A lot of people watched their first foreign show with subtitles for Squid Game. I'm talking about in the west. Unless you discovered it through a friend, family or other unconventional way, the western part of the world didn't really take notice until recently. Kinda sad because there is so much amazing Asian media whether it's anime, Manga, Asian movies and shows.
What a bunch of very ordinary people, unremarcable, forgettable, not unique in any way, not phisycally appealing, replasable in their role by anybody. Not a level of casting like TVd or TO where any cast member, even the one in the secondary roles you cannot imagine anybody else playing that part. This lot is good for a normal teen schooll drama, not a vampire show. July Plec after TVD and TO got a bump in her head and forgot everything that makes a vampire show memorable, she thinks she is doing an Harry Potter type of show without knowing how to do it. I don't see how people could find any interest in watching this.

Of course I didn't watch the show I saw the trailer and I went "naaa" as anybody else that loves the genre. So of course, cancellation for boring people to death with mediocre casting choices done according stupid woke ethnicity representation and not meritocracy, chemistry and respect of genre rules. By choosing a cast that is incapable to grab people attention and hold it not even with the trailer you just sabotage your project. Go woke get broke...once again to be proven correct.

Just watched the first 5 episodes on Peacock and I already like it better than the movie.
The movie had to cut out so much. So the series gets to explore more stuff. Personally felt like Dimitry and Rose were better cast in the film.

Always a red flag when they claim to honor the original stories but also "modernize" and when asked to define "diversity".
