A viewer told me for 3 D embossing folders I supposed only the the platform. I check the manual and retry it. It's work for the sizzix 3d embossing folders. I do still have issues with the spellbinder 3d embossing folders they are not as thick as the sizzix so it's didn't work.

I wish I had known this existed. Even with my hand pain I think I would still give this a go had I not already upgraded to the spellbinders platinum. Although I like the platinum better than I liked my big shot it’s annoying how many different sandwiches different things require. I think it’s pretty awesome that this Bira only has a couple of different platforms that you need.

Do you know how well this works w/ a thicker embossing folder? Specifically SSS 3D folders? Does it emboss well? Is the handle hard to turn when putting it through? Thx so much!
When you're putting through a 4D embossing folder you only use the baseplate and the cardstock inside the folder. Do not use the top cutting plate. When you get particles in the cutting plate, just use a toothbrush to clean them out. Brush gently under warm water, then dry with paper towels before reusing. Thanks for the vid. I'm sure you will love your new Bira. I've used mine for 4 years and it's never disappointed me.

Is the handle as easy to turn as Gina’s machine? For me that’s the selling feature since I have rheumatoid arthritis & my hands are very deformed w/ little to no strength. Thank you.
I’ve hd this machine for a long time and love it. It came BEFORE the Gina K and is IDENTICAL, they just changed the color/branding. Same manufacturer, much less expensive.

Thanks Chow! I'm not in the market for a new machine, but good to know this exists. I saw Gina demo her machine & I'd rather stay with sandwiches I know with my big shot, than learn which setting, which tightness etc. Then forget which setting it is, & it takes me a minute to realize why something won't go through, maybe have to unstick it, turn it around to see the knobs since i don't have the desk depth to set it so the knob & handle are to the sides. I just need to find my big shot from the move so I can use my new glimmer. I mostly use my Gemini Jr & new mini empress. (Really loving the mini empress).

Exactly what I was thinking.
I’ve heard it is the same. At first Gina k was saying her version was special, ( had metal gears ( not plastic) or was different and special in some respect from the Bira machine, , but when asked specifically what the difference was ,in a long winded comment that really didn’t say much of anything, she claimed she didn’t know what the differences were and she personally didn’t play a part in the decision making about the machine.
I have a Bira die cutting machine and I really like it so far. I love that you can cut steel rule dies with it.

When using 3D embossing folders just use the white platform not the top grey plate. I have had this machine for a couple of years and it embosses and die cuts just perfect. However, it never gave me good results with my Glimmer machine, so I did also purchase a Spellbinders Platinum 8.5 and use that almost always for the Glimmer. Cutting acetate also was a problem with the Bira, I never mastered that so I use the Platinum machine. A crafter can never have too many "toys"!

@@CreatewithChow Want to let you know that some 3D are thicker than others. For Spellbinders I set it at 3D then at zero and use the grey plate on top. For Simon Says 3D I set it at 3D then at tightest (you have to test) an no grey top plate. You will get excellent results.

I saw Jennifer McGuire’s review so I thought that this was a new machine on the market but perhaps it’s the Gina K that’s new? I just bought the Tim Holtz foldaway because I am expecting to move and need to consolidate my crafting space AND I heard great reviews about it. Now I’m wondering if it was a mistake? This adjustable machine sounds pretty good. I think that I already threw the box away for the foldaway…rats! No wrist problems but my shoulders are getting wonky…not really complaining but almost 74 so I guess I should expect something? The reviews for the power machines say that they don’t have as strong of power. It looks like the 8.5 is also hand crank…trying to consolidate space and consider age too! Glad you like your toys… I like toys too…probably should be good for a change though and make ready for a smaller space. Being good isn’t always as much fun though!🙃💕

Thanks so much for your honest review and demos. I have used Sizzix machines since they first came out and now have a big shot? The handle keeps breaking/falling off and Customer Service is not helpful at all. I’m tired of warping plates which have gotten expensive and impossible to find locally. I have issues with certain SSS embossing folders with the Sizzix. I was thinking of Gina Ks machine but after this I may give this one a try! I’m beginning to believe there is no just “one” perfect machine for all. sigh 💜

Thank you for the honest review. I have the new Gemini ll and really like it. But I also have Tim Holtz vagabond I use for most every day cutting and embossing.I know it won't last forever so I've been investigating other machines. I don't think I would like this one.

I love the Gem II, also, however i have 4 horribly deformed plastic shims! It makes it almost impossible to feed the Gem! It blew up my first machine, but they said the deformed shim was normal! I turn and flip. I am tired of the worry. I will try this or the Gina K.
I have tried the 3D and the ones I had worked very well. You just open your settings to the widest .

Oh 😂 maybe I should have waited for your video before I ordered mine. I didn't buy from Amazon bcuz I didn't think I'd be returning it. I thought it might replace my Diamond Press Marquise (no more bent folders). I'll find out if it bothers my hands or shoulders when it arrives. I have arthritic thumbs, is there a die cutting and a embossing machine you would recommend over this one that is still affordable price?
I think this one would work for me for most things, maybe just certain ones that would take so much pressure with the handle would be a problem for me..

I have a switch electric die cut machine. This is a little high on price. I got it on sale. I used with Spellbinders universal plate system.
Gemini Jr is good one too and cheaper electric die-cut machines. You just have to figure out the 3d embossing folders sandwich because each companies 3 d embossing folders is different thickness. I hope this help. Thank you for watching.

I have a manic mat and yes it works great with this machine. Once you get the hang of your pressure settings you will be amazed at this machine. I have had no warping with this machine at all so far. I love it. :)
This is identical to the Gina K die cutting machine. I'm going to have to pay more for hers because I cannot stand the color orange. It would bother me forever. The problem with Gina's machine is she NEVER has any in stock. Never.
I saw one similar being sold by Gina K.... Are they the same in features?
It's does look identical. But since I don't have Gina's machine I can't say. This one been out since 2015.

I don't think there is way to turn manuel die cutting machine into the electric power one.
