These videos are one of my favorite things about Silent Planet dropping new music. I could listen to Garrett talk forever. Such a well spoken and well educated dude.
Haven't listened to the song yet, and this is the first time I've seen this video. My grandfather passed away earlier today after battling dementia for years. Seeing this today of all days feels like more than a coincidence.
I suffer from mental issues and dementia runs in my family and wondering if I'm gonna end up with dementia is pretty terrifying so this song hit me pretty hard and had me in tears. I love that SP will talk about stuff like this. Also that he mentions writing with Wolves At The Gate is awesome.
Garrett and God have nothing in common because Garrett is real and God is not. You have no point since you're trying to compare apples and oranges for no apparent reason.
He wasn't comparing Garrett to god, he was just saying Garrett is doing a great job spreading God's message. And even if he was, so what if he believes in God? Let people live.
@@nkjagshenry the point isn't what Garrett believes in, it's about misinterpreting the entire point of this band and why Garrett does what he does. EWS was an exploration of human psychological disorders and the imagery around them, such as PTSD, eating and bipolar disorders, etc. If you want to believe that the point of the album was to spread the message of God then so be it, but last time I checked God's done nothing for me or anybody else I know going through personal mental struggles. I don't need some higher figure to identify with me, but when another human being acknowledges that I'm not alone dealing with it, it's a much greater message than anything written in some fictional novel from 2000 years ago. Again he can believe what he wants and so can you, but to think his music is a medium for Christian thought is pretentious and just plain stupid.
I really enjoy these track explanations. Would love to make a playlist where they play before each track of the album. Thanks for making these!
Sterling Chaney ill be making that playlist as soon as all of them are up!
This has quickly become one of my favorite songs

So hyped for this album and this series
Thank you Cayem for all the interviewing you do for this scene, especially SP. You are a huge part in helping us understand the music that we love.
Best singer in the universe!!!!
I can’t listen to this song without crying. I’ve watched several family members and friends develops dementia. This song explains everything so well.
This dude is such a brilliant song writer
I love this man.
Christianity needs more people like Garrett to help spread the word of God. How can you hate on Garrett? It's impossible.
