hello sir,from many research papers for energy harvesting purpose some unit cell is act a reflecting the RF signal and some unit cell has ideal phase shift .when the unit cell is act as absorper and when it is act as reflector
Hi Jini,
In our work, the RIS only reflects the incoming signal with different phases. We do not consider the case that unit cell acts as energy harvesting. Our main purpose is finding the optimal coding matrix of the RIS controller to focus the reflected beam to the receiver (e.g., rectennas) which harvests the energy.
absorption and reflection depend upon the impedance matching of the transmission media i.e. air and the patch.
If it matches, the whole signal will be absorbed else it reflects.
what is the frequency?
It operates at 5.8 GHz
